[APP] Control PowerAMP from Notification Bar with Microsoft Kinect support - Xoom Themes and Apps

Hi everyone, I want to share to all of you my FIRST app on Android Market:
PowerAMP Controller for Honeycomb + Kinect support
This application allows Honeycomb tablet user to control PowerAMP directly from their notification bar. Moreover, it also has an *experimental* feature of connecting your Microsoft Kinect and control music directly with your hand gestures!
*Features:
+ Control PowerAMP directly from Notification Bar (Quick play/pause/next/previous/volume control).
+ Multiple backgrounds (currently 7) for you to select.
+ FIRST ANDROID APPLICATION featuring connecting with Microsoft Kinect (requires Android 3.1+ for USB Host + USB OTG Cable + ROOT)
*Integrating with Kinect:
(see application site below for pictures, YouTube clip coming soon)
Experimental feature, do not rate this application low if it is not working well. Better support will come as soon as skeleton tracking feature is complete
Requirements: USB Host + USB OTG Cable + Seperate power supply for your Kinect + ROOT + Android 3.1
- Connect Kinect to USB host.
- Launch PowerAMP Controller from your app drawer.
- Click on the Kinect icon (may not work the first time of clicking since the application is asking for root permission).
- Tilt camera to suit your need (prefer place without interference).
- Start controlling music with hand gesture.
*Hand gestures:
Work best in range between 1m and 2m
- Spread 5 of your finger vertically in in front of the camera to start/pause music playing.
- Spread 5 of your finger horizontally to the right in in front of the camera to skip to next song.
- Spread 5 of your finger horizontally to the left in in front of the camera to go back to previous song.
- If you do the gesture correctly, the LED on your Kinect will flash green.
This application is provided for free of charge!. All of your xda-developers readers, please install, use and give me feedback.
Market address:

Hooked it up and the Kinect is blinking green. Granted superuser permission and backed out of app. Went back in and tapped the Kinect but it says Kinect not found. Force stopped it and same status.

Android Arcade Coffee Table - SSLauncher Theme Help

Hey guys,
I am currently working on an arcade coffee table based on the Android software and have put together a simple launcher based on the SSLauncher.
Each button works taking you to the Next or Previous page and the Controllers launch the emulator.
http://youtu.be/YIolHZ2Jr90 - This is a video demonstration.
I was wondering what people thought of the launcher I have put together and what I could do to improve it.
(It's a coffee table with a screen facing upwards, with a control panel that slides out of the table and wireless keyboard and mouse. I will upload photos if anyone is interested.)
Here's a picture of the control panel.
I have put together a drawer that slides out to push, lift and support the control panel. When the drawer is pushed back, the control panel hides within the table.

[ANDROID 4.03+][APP]Dash Home [1.8.1.693] -- Car front end home screen (s100/s150)

Dash Home on the Play Store
Hi,
This is the app I am using with my car's android based radio to give it a custom touch and save my sanity trying to do anything while driving. The hardware and OS are rather limited in the device, so my app goes into retro land to get some performance, using the fixed function pipeline with GLES 1.0 and renderscript. The OS is 4.03 but lacks sensors, etc, etc. This is what I have made to work, it is no where near as smooth as on my Nexus 5, (renderscript is cpu/gpu based instead of just cpu) but it isn't too bad in the car, listening to tunes and getting a visualization effect. On the plus side, visualizations are not impacted by audio tunnelling, but with no GLES2, most visualization apps on the market don't work with the car radio (s100).
Looking for feedback and suggestions for where to go with themes. Or anything else really.
Cheers!
EDIT: updated version info, just updated the play store.
Update Available
Update 1.8.1.419:
Many Changes:
App is half the size, same with the expansion file, (added the ability to patch the base bitmap, but you can still use full bitmaps, see the obb flle in android / obb, it's a zip, the version and size are checked against mods , however you can add a patch file to add your own changes, no size check, same name. Post questions here or email me with theme requests.)
Reworked renderscript code, much faster.
Added a KIA Soul theme, just the Jeep one with Kia images.
Added toggle for compressed textures, most themes seem fine to me, but the Jeep one looks off with compressed textures.
IAn app drawer, swipe right instead of left to access. Launch apps with single click, long press to add/remove to an auto start list, viewable in prefs. (Auto start apps are triggered when the external sdcard is mounted on the S100/S150) I only use the default home these days for uninstalling apps, your usage may vary.
mesh options, you can increase the mesh density for better visuals (higher res), lower for more speed.
Audio visualization strength option added.
Torque integration, press the gas and the 3D GUI tilts forward, if no Torque it still uses the GPS. Suggestions welcome on OBDII sensors to try and what to do with them. I tried GPS heading to get a left right change without much luck, harder to figure that out without going for a drive.
GPS Data logging, automatically saves to the sdcard when stopped or when you turn off the radio, use prefs to disable or specify sdcard location.
Autosaves logcat to sdcard when radio/phone shuts down. (most will be rooted and see all the logs, otherwise just for the app).
ToDo: Upload a proper video to the playstore.

Update 1.8.1.693
Update 1.8.1.693:
-rotating lights brought back into view (bug fix)
-holiday setting turns on and off (bug fix)
-more tweaks to preferences look

[APP][NST/G] USB one-touch toggles

5-16-21: Finally updated both apps to use custom on-screen dialog instead of stock alert boxes, ported from my Quick Tiles app (USB Audio 4.1 and USBHost only)
I've managed to find a combination of versions of Tasker and App Factory that run on my Nook Tablet and generate apps from Tasker tasks that will run on the Nook Simple Touch (Glowlight too, I assume).
Attached are stand-alone (no Tasker required!) app versions of the USB Audio and generic USB Host toggles. More skittish devices may not work with these, but you might want to give them a try anyway.
Root and SuperUser required. You also need a kernal that supports USB Host.
These apps--and all Tasker-generated apps--have a dependency on two library files normally installed with GApps. If you do not have GApps installed on your device, you can still use these apps by copying the two attached files into the locations shown below (the xml file is zipped so you can download it rather than view it):
/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar
Set permissions for both files to rw-r--r-- and reboot.
New version 4 of USB Audio Toggle with onscreen volume controls
I have two USB-C audio devices. My original has no LEDs and no volume buttons. The second has both. I prefer the original (why waste battery power on LEDs?). That means I have sacrificed two hardware buttons as volume controls, using NTMM to assign the functions. But most of the time I don't need those buttons to control volume.
Now I don't need to tie up two buttons and neither do you. Version 4 (below) of the USB Audio toggle app places a pair of volume control buttons on the mid-right edge of your screen that persists until you exit USB Audio mode (works in Portrait or Landscape). Then they just disappear! (screenshot with TuneIn Radio below)
There are no other changes to Version 3, so if you don't need the buttons, you don't need version 4.
In order for the Android audio volume control to function as intended, you need to have Phone.apk in /system/app.
Version 4 can be installed over version 3. Enjoy!
Updated USB Audio toggle app
Version 3 of the app uses the exact same method for killing mediaserver as @Renate NST does in her AudioCtl app (but no beeps). The method used in previous versions was not compatible with the android volume control described in this thread.
i know this thread may be a little older but does this allow to have the original android volume control, control the usb audio output volume?
i have an android Headunit that ill be wanting to send digital audio via usb to a DSP processor via usb. to retain my steering wheel volume control i need the normal android volume control to control the usb audio output.
Is this a fix to what i am looking for?? Android 6.0

If I understand your situation correctly, the answer is "no". This pair of apps is tailored only for the NST e-reader with USB Host kernal modifications. In this case, normal Android volume control functions via the Phone apk to control system volume of the USB audio gizmo. But this is a very narrow application, and I doubt the app would even run on a Marshmallow ROM.
ALRIGht is there any possible way to get the usb audio output volume control enabled ?

I'm afraid I'm pretty clueless with a different system. I have one device running CM 13 (Marshmallow, Android 6.0) and in Settings>Developers Options there is a place to "Disable USB Audio routing", but I don't know whether that is at all related to your situation.
Google may be your friend. It's usually how I find out things.
USB Audio toggle with onscreen volume controls!
I'm pleased to have learned how to do this! Details in the first post.

No more extention on win10 (not mirroring and no tabs)

HI all,
today I was trying to extend my display to the tv but I'm no more able to do it.
I have a chromecast (old one) connected to my tv and I was thinking to extend the display of my notebook (running windows 10 home) so I did as I've found in this video
1) win-key+x > and selected control panel
2) change screen resolution
3) pressed "detect" key in order to "find" the chromecast ; but it does not work
Did I missed something or the new updates are blocking this feature?
thanks
SKAL

FlyControlCenter app for FlyAudio head units

Hi all,
I know FlyAudio head units are not very popular in Europe or US (since they are not being sold there officially).
However if you have G8 or G9 series (Android 4.4/5.1) installed in your car you may be intrested in this app.
Fly Control Center is my app which extends functionality of FlyAudio head units and provides some additional features:
== Free features ==
- Launch Google Voice by pushing Speech button on steering wheel (Speech function should be mapped to the button using built-in FlyAudio settings).
- Speedometer in notification bar.
- Autoadjustment of volume depending on speed (free version have only one speed limit available - 40 km/h).
- Change of speedometer's color in app's main window depending on speed.
- Launching FM radio in background.
- New! Calculation of distance travelled and average speed during a day and showing it in notification (may be incorrect, still experimental)
== Paid PREMIUM features ==
All free features, and:
- Ability to make phone calls via connected phone's SIM-card (by Bluetooth). You can use most of third party speed dialers as well.
- Make phone calls via connected phone by saying "Ok, Google, call [name]"
- Decrease volume during voice input when FM radio is playing.
- Autoadjustment of volume depending on speed - all 3 custom speed limits are available (you can set speed limits values and an amount of volume adjustment)
- Launching PowerAmp and Google Music playback in background.
- New! Sound notifications when reaching certain speed limits (two different sounds for two limits)
- New! Double click action can be assigned to Speech button, including app launch or MODE function (cycle through 3 apps).
- New! More players were added to app/mode launch action and autostart function.
The app can be downloaded from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.speedfire.flycontrolcenter
Don't forget to install this free plugin as well (required for Google Voice function to work properly): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iflytek.autofly

Hello,
No, the app does not change anything in the firmware or OS. It even does not require Root to work properly.
This app is basically a 3rd party launcher but a little bit more customizable for cars and FlyAudio head units in particular. It can be installed and uninstalled without any consequences (which is additionally guaranteed by the fact that it is distributed via official Google Play store).
So, you can safely try it and leave your feedback if you have any
Could you be the original firmware developer by any chance?
What particular feature do you expect to get? Maybe it can be achieved without firmware modification.

Correct. Because this is not a software but a hardware issue on devices from Israel.
Hi, guys!
I have a nice news: FCC v.2.0 is released for beta-testers.
It is a completely rewritten application. Now this is basically a fully customizable Launcher which even supports the Android Widgets!
And of course it has all good staff from FCC v.1.0 and some more (e.g. widgets with FM stations frequencies and ability to assign station names, autoplay the last player on device start and many more).
Since this is still in beta, you should make some simple steps to be able to download it:
1) Sign in for beta of FCC Launcher itself - https://play.google.com/apps/testing/ru.speedfire.flycontrolcenter
2) Sign in for beta of FCC Plugin (this app helps to assign custom actions to steering wheel Speech button) - https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.iflytek.autofly
3) FCC Starter (this plugin helps to autostart the main app on device wake up) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.flyaudio.navigation
Your feedback (good and bad) as well as bug reports are welcomed!
