incipio featherweight case. Snaps on, not as much top and bottom coverage though.... Used them on many phones and they're very durable.

Barely there by Case-mate. I had one on my incredible I loved. I have this on order for my Bionic.

looks great, just ordered one - thanks. Slim and covers the corners which is where most of the dings tend to happen (in my experience).

Don't think anything gets slimmer than this
This is less than 1/100th of an inch thick...

Probably a little too thin but surprisingly some people love this kind of protection.

TPU cases are very slim.

Just ordered a black/smoke argyle one for $2.95. With shipping it came to $5.90 total. Great deal:

Here is the link to the androidified cases @ Amazon

I just got the same style from amazon, Matte Black though. I like it cause its more grippy, but not bad enough to get stuck sliding it out of a pocket while wearing jeans.
Though, If you wear that skinny paint on jean bull****, my guess is that you'll have a hard time removing a nickle from your pocket.

Just got my Incipio Feather in, totally love it! Thanks for the suggestion! It's enough coverage to protect from scratches or dings in my pocket or a light drop (it does cover the corners), but it barely adds any bulk or thickness to the phone which is what I hate about bigger cases. Also, it is slim enough to fit perfectly in the dock and car mount with the insert removed (charges and goes into dock mode with no problems too), which I've been looking for since I got the phone! Has a really nice feel to it too. All in all, a great case! The only thing I'm not happy with is the screen protector that comes with it, it's really not all that good. Picks up fingerprints like nobody's business and, while they made it big enough to cover the entire screen, it won't bend to the curves of the screen so it overhangs around the edges which really doesn't look good. Oh well, guess you can't get EVERYTHING all in one package >_< I'll probably end up going with an invisible shield or something to really make this thing perfect!

So with the case it fits in the Motorola car and home dock? No need to remove the case? Thats great if it does!
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App

Yup! And yes, it IS pretty great! ;P I realized that the dock and car mount would support a case about 30 seconds after taking them out of the package when I saw that they had removable inserts, and I gotta say I was pretty darn thrilled that they had FINALLY gotten the hint that people want to be able to dock their phone AND have a case on it, and that it's a pain in the a** to keep taking off and putting on your case every time you get in the car or sit down at your desk. I was still in the parking lot at BJ's at the time, so I immediately went back in to get a case (which I hadn't gotten initially because I knew I wanted to dock the phone) and to inform the saleswoman that motorola had finally smartened up.
As soon as I got back out to my car however, I quickly realized that while motorola may have had their heart in the right place, their heads were still up that hole where the sun don't shine >_< The case I picked up was the ONLY hard case that was released with the phone that made any sense, the 2 piece Incipio, as I was definitely not gonna go with the shell/holster (why would I want the bulk of the extended battery when I don't even have it?) and the otterbox, while great for serious protection, was the size of a friggen brick and WAY more than I need. I did like the Incipio, but when I went to put my nice new phone in its nice new case into my nice new "case-friendly" car dock, it totally wouldn't fit! It would have taken some serious wedging and pushing to get it down in there even with the insert taken out, and the last thing I wanted to do with my brand new bionic was to wedge and shove it! I promptly returned the case and have been waiting for a hard case that would fit ever since, which I now have thanks to the Feather!
So, I guess the point of my rant is that yes, you can dock the phone with this case on which TOTALLY rocks!

I also just received my Incipio Feather case. It looks good and feels good. Keeps the phone looking thin. Protects the corners.
I didn't know it was coming with a free screen protector. It does overhang a little like the previous poster said, but hey, it was a bonus for me. You can't tell its there unless you look close enough at the edges. Im sure it won't last more than a month or two but at least there is no orange peel effect like Zagg.

Case-Mate Barely There Droid 3 Case Review

I have recent come from an HTC Droid Incredible and got the Droid 3 for $200 off someone on Craigslist which was awesome. Of course, I had to get a case for it but I didn't want something thick and wanted something thin.
Of the brand name case makers, Case-Mate seemed to be the answer I was looking for with their Barely There line. I could've gone with Mobi but they did not seem as well known and for about $5 more I could get peace of mind. I got mine for about $16 on Amazon.
Case fit is very good. It is snug and not loose.
The material is that "faux rubbery hard case" material, not unlike the material that the Droid 3 battery cover is made of. Of course the back of the case (which I forgot to take a picture of, sorry!) looks very sleek with the Case-Mate logo.
I haven't dropped it (-knocks on wood-) so I can't say how well it'd hold up but it looks like it'll probably hold up as well as any other case made of the same material. It doesn't have the silicone inner layer like the Trident and Otterbox cases so not as much shock absorption, but it will definitely protect against minor drops and bumps and keep scratches off your phone.

I do have one gripe with the case, however...
Some of the tabs rub against the case. In other words, I feel like the case doesn't slide as smoothly with the case on and there's some resistance. Has anybody else experienced this?
That really bothers me I was wondering if any of the other cases didn't have any rubbing at all and/or if that is even possible with this type of phone? Or if anyone has any other case suggestions?
Thanks Hope this review was helpful!
UPDATE: I e-mailed Case-Mate's support services and they claim that this is not "normal" and they may send me a replacement so we'll see.
Yesterday, I thought about what kind of case will protect this phone and allow using keyboard too, of course a 2 piece case! Nicely executed, but looks ugly =/.
As for being able to use the keyboard, this case does not hinder it in my opinion and I think it looks okay. However, the Qmadix case I don't like. I think THAT looks ugly lol.
I'm considering just a skin and maybe no case. I've always had cases but figure this would be a good chance to try something different. Maybe Skinomi? Any suggestions?

I use a skinomi wooden skin. Looks fantastic, has held up for a couple months with no problem. Only issue is there isn't a piece that works for the side right underneath the capacitative buttons, cause of the funny curve, but it really doesn't look bad. I would recommend highly

I just ordered the clear TechSkin from Skinomi for the Droid 3 yesterday for around $15. So we'll see I guess. I'm a little nervous about the whole wet-everything-then-try-to-stick-it-on thing as I've never tried anything with a wet application before.
Did you happen to se if the Droid fit in the Car and/or multimedia docks while the Case Mate was attached? I"m still searching for a good quality case that serves that function.. without some of the more drastic modifications i've seen posted on other threads.
I had a case like this on my 1st d3. The tabs rubbed on the phone and made it a little harder to slide, but I thought that was "normal" About 3 weeks ago my backlight started going in and out when I slid the keyboard, to the point where I couldnt get it to turn on. Got a warranty replacement, and bought an otterbox commuter case. 20 bucks, but the slider glides without issue and I'm not seeing any marks where it rubs.
TL DR Cases like this that cause the slider to not glide as smoothly may cause your backlight/screen to die

Good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Sorry to hear it screwed up your D3. I've since got the TechSkin and it turned out better than I thought it would. I would've considered an OtterBox but it just looked so... thick and big. How is in compared to the Case Mate?

It is a little bigger but thats because it kinda sits in 2 cases (the slicon layer and the hard shell), but its not a ton bigger. The slider works though as if there is no case even on it, which makes me feel a lot more comfortable having it in the case. I wish it was a little gripier though

I ended up getting this case and I can report that it works with both the car and home docks...
i hae the otter case , which slides smooth, offer great protection, but it is really bulky,
i was thinking of getting another case, but i am now thinking of getting skins,
since skins offer nice protection and keep the phone slim,
got to love how it is the thinest android with keyboard
Anyone know if this case slides better than the OEM one from verizon? Ive had it on since day 1 and its wearing away the finish along where the rail slides and I hardly use the keyboard. It's also bulky, and the rubber texture of the case makes taking it out of the pocket a pain if you wear pants that fit. lol

[REVIEW] Nillkin Hard Case

Today I took receipt of 2 Nillkin Hard Cases for the GT-N7100 Galaxy Note (One brown, one Red.)
I bought them from eBay for around £6 each delivered, the quality is surprisingly good, I wasn't keen on having a TPU or Soft Silicone case, or the flip case that I had for my original Note. So I thought I'd give this one a try.
You can see that it comes well packaged, not just in an envelope as is usually the case from Chinese suppliers of such products.

It also includes a screen protector, I've not yet fitted that, as I already have one fitted that's in good condition.
As you can see from the next set of photos, it doesn't really add a great deal of bulk, which is another reason I didn't want a TPU or Silicon case.
Granted I can't see it protecting the phone from a massive fall, but I wanted to keep the svelte lines as much as I could, whilst adding some grip, which it does nicely with the texture that is on the under side.
The fit is really snug, I had reservations at first, but once it's fitted it doesn't move at all, so I have no worries about it slipping off.
All-in-all I think it's a really good product, it adds protection from scratches for most of the phone, whilst not being too bulky, just enough thickness to save the camera lens from getting scratched when you put the phone down.
So if you're looking for a case and have similar requirements to my own, consider giving this one a try.
thank you for your return
Excellent review and photos, its a shame the case doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone .
i just made a thread about this, but yours is nicer so....
I didn't like the fit at ALL until I just removed the back cover from my note 2 completely.
I don't really care about NFC so I'm okay with this. I like having a bit more lip too.
I find a couple of the edges a bit sharp. meaning if I hold the phone in landscape, my index fingers get scraped a little bit by the case edges.
I might sand them down or something.
The texture on the case is quite nice - pretty subtle but noticable when you hold it.

I know what you mean, but at least it looks uniform all the way around, I had a couple of flip cases, one made by a company called Tenda, great case and had a similar hard back to it, that case did cover all the edges... except for one corner, it would have looked a bit daft if it didn't have the flip screen cover.
But because of the material, I think it would be a nightmare taking it off, if it did cover every edge, as because it's really stiff, you need some leverage when you do want to remove it.

It might just be the batch you've got perhaps, I've just been around both cases, both on and off, and there are no sharp edges, in your case, a small nail file or wet'n'dry should do the trick.
I think I know what you mean about the fit, I too was a bit cautious as it "almost" sits flush with the screen, but there is a bit of a lip and I've shaken the hell out it and it's going know where haha.

Honestly, you really can't go wrong with a product that says "SUPER COOL" on the packaging.

That's a really nice case you have there. I envy your adventurous nature in going for red, I'd be more conservative and go for grey or black!
Anyhow I was also looking at this similar case and thought it offers a little more protection around the top / bottom. Any opinions?

I'd be more inclined to go for the one you've found, for that added protection, I have ordered a aluminum bumper and a flip case which I'll probably post a review about, unless someone already has.
I might buy the one you've posted about too lol.
Yeah I'm on the case hunt too. Already bought the S-Line with kickstand just yesterday. I also really like the look of the one I linked to above. I'm interested in this flip cover too , which I really like for its corner protection - should be protective enough for most falls and no magnet involved to interfere with the s-pen.
And worst of all, I don't even own a Note 2 yet. Crazy or what?!
Anyhow apologies for hijacking your useful review thread

[Review] Noreve Perpétuelle Couture Leather Case

Hi guys, just wanted to do a quick review of the Noreve N7 case I've been patiently waiting for the past 3 weeks or so. I wanted a real leather case and I did a lot of research on them before finally settling on these guys, and I'm not disappointed. The wait was well worth it.
Noreve offer a bunch of custom case finishes, so I went with the black perpétuelle couture case, which has a diamond stitching. I thought it would look better than the standard black, which everyone seems to have, and I was not let down. Custom orders take 14 business days to complete, and the company were very exact in their delivery time, which was a plus.
The case was 55 euros or 72 dollars. They offer free shipping with DHL to anywhere in the world.
It comes in a very nice box, and within the box there's a bright red cloth pouch for the case itself. Very excellent presentation.
Please excuse the crappy pictures. I did the best I could with my Galaxy S.

The texture (and the smell!) of the leather is outstanding. Feels very nice to the touch, and I admit to smelling it because it smells like a new pair of high end leather shoes
View of the side, bottom and back ports. The top is fully covered.
View of the back (note the little grills for the speakers - nice touch)
View from the front with the case open.
And finally, here it is in landscape mode.
One thing which was really important to me was the functionality of the sleep cover, and on this case it works like a dream. No problems whatsoever, not even when you fold the front back when you go to read something. It makes the tablet feel much more secure in the hand, and I prefer the feel of real leather as opposed to the textured N7 back, though that is nice and grippy as well.
All in all, I'm very pleased with this. It was well worth the wait. It's very functional, comfortable, and secure. Not too much bulk added to the device, and what's added feels like a dream, anyway. So I would say it's well worth it for anyone looking for a genuine leather case. These guys really seem to know what they're doing.
On a side note, their customer service people are extremely friendly and helpful.
Here's a link for those who may be interested : http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Asus_Google_Nexus_7_Tradition_leather_case.html
Cheers.
Very nice review! I almost got one of those cases but opted for the Seidio Active case. It was a tough decision! LOL
I do want want of those, but having already spent the same amount on a treegloo case, it's hard for me to pull the trigger on this, especially when I have the Seidio case already.
The case looks really nice and finally see a real leather bound case with quality. The look reminds me of the Vaja Cases made in Argentina and I can literally smell the leather when reading your review lol.
Now I see that you love the case, but is there anything you do not like about it?

Thanks! It's really weird because I was going back and forth between Noreve and Seidio myself
There is one thing I don't like about it, and that's this :
The top isn't exactly flush, I tried to capture the little gap the best I could. It's nothing major and it doesn't bother me, because the case is still kinda stiff because the leather isn't broken in yet. After some use I'm sure it will go away, and besides, you can really only tell when you look at it from that angle. It doesn't affect the functionality at all.
Another thing is that the pogo pins aren't covered. I don't think the guys at Noreve knew what they were exactly at the time of designing this, so they decided to play it safe and leave it open. I don't see how you could put this on a dock while it's still in the case. But if I were Noreve I probably would have played it safe and left them open as well.
Those are the only two little things. Other than that, it made me like my N7 even more - feels so much better in the hand.
Thanks for the detailed review.
Is it just me, or does some of the finishing, particularly on the side views, look a little DIY? The cut outs just don't appear straight at all.
No it's not just you. Because it's hand made, the cut outs are not 100% symmetrical. It's apparent on the micro USB cutout, and also pogo pin connector cutout.
I'd personally rather have tiny imperfections like that for that human quality, as opposed to it being cut and stitched by machines. But that's just me. Thanks for your comment.
Interested in this case for my N7 as well.
But I would like to check if the front cover can be folded fully to the back? especially when using in portrait mode.
Yes it can, that's no problem at all for this case. I mentioned it as part of the review as well.

If it didn't work properly it would drive me crazy, as I read a lot on my tablet. I did a lot of research on this functionality before I bought the case. So yes, you can fold the front cover all the way back and the magnet will not shut the screen off. It works perfectly.

Great review btw!
No problem
nice review and great looking case, just ordered one myself
Sweet! What color/finish? Really curious. I may order another one in a different color just for the hell of it
Wow!!! 55 Euros for a piece of tat that looks like a myopic chimp made it!!
/Facepalm
Almost, but not quite as bad as the " genuine handcrafted cardboard and paper " book cover look alike one I saw advertised the other day for $99
It's actually a very, very well made, hand crafted case from some of the best leather money can buy. But whatever

[REQ] Note II Case with Lanyard hole / loop

I've been searching tirelessly for over a week now for a Note II case with cutouts for a lanyard. I've used one on pretty much all of my devices and it really helps with preventing drops.
I've ordered several cases (for other devices) from Cruzerlite, and some of them have had the cut outs. But it doesn't look like the Note II versions have it. Yes, I could totally punch my own holes.. but it's always better if they do the punching before hand.. with machines (or laser beams).
I see the official samsung one has a spot for it. I'm looking for something slimmer though-- that one looks bulky, unless I'm crazy. Any cases that you guys/gals have ordered that have lanyard holes?
I currently have the Body Glove case from T-Mobile, and have run the lanyard thru the top, but it looks funny and leaves a gap in between the case and the screen (it's also loose).
To make this thread less useless, I'll post pics in the OP if you guys have any-- for anyone else on a similar quest.
FYI.. lanyard kinda looks like this:

Zenus Prestige Neo Vintage perhaps? You even get a cool strap with the case.
See here
Rearth slim case has a lanyard hole in the lower left corner. $10.

i think you're crazy. you can't get much slimmer than the official samsung case without losing protection/exposing more of the phone. I currently use the thicker Speck Candyshell that I drilled 2 small holes into. I also have the samsung case, but I felt it didn't offer enough protection.

I generally will sacrifice extra protection for slimness (wut), given the whole phone is covered. I like the reearth case, but don't like the exposed parts. That's cool tho - I was actually hoping I was crazy, and you've sold me on the Samsung one .

You could try to slip the lanyard through the speaker grille with or without a case.

But I guess you do get a small kickstand.
IMO, not worth $30
This is the first I have ever heard of "FlyGrip"
and from the looks of it, it seems like it would be a pain.
And not a pain thats worth $30...
.. however, it seems as though they donate profits(?)
I'd rather just help by sending a donation then to have that thing attached to my phone.. :/

If you actually looked at some videos you'd see its pretty small and in-genius, its far from a pain in the ass..actually looks like its quick and easy just need practice. That velcro finger slots thing looks like a pain in the ass and super tacky. $30 is a lot and it should be like $20 max but w.e.
I stopped using the lazy hands because it is tacky looking. it functions really well, but the form is terrible. so it depends if you value function>form or form>function. i think the fly grip is too expensive for what it is. I'm sure its a great product, but I'd rather spend $20 or less. The TPU case they include is of no value to me.
I want a flygrip but their site say the small and medium sizes are don't work well with the Note2 as a kickstand. They are working on a fix in future builds. It looks great and kills 2 birds with one stone (kickstand and one-handed security).
Anyways, I think all phones should have holes for wrist straps like the good ol' Sony Ericsson w810i walkman phones. It's like they want us to drop our phones in the gutter.
In the video, the fly grip really did look kind of difficult to open. Now, if the fly grip people and the Velcro finger people mated, and made something flush with the back of a case, that'd be cool.

30 to protect your 700 dollar phone without worry is worth it to me. It isn't hard to open or use and fits the note 2 fine. They give you a free tpu fitted case with purchase.

Flex Thin Cases

What are the thinnest Flex cases? Post pictures if you can. The only issue I have with the Flex if you call it a issue is that I don't want to hide the curves. lol I want the thinnest case. Might just have to go with a full body protector.
thanks
get this one bro; super thin, great grip ridges on the side, and it fits like a glove..

You have it? I might get the clear or red one. I guess a mall has cell phone shop that will like shrink wrap a protector on any phone/tab. lol I might take a look at that today.
yeah, I have the red one..its super thin, just like you are looking for..
problem with those shrink wrapped type skins is that if you drop the phone on its edge, on concrete, they wont keep you from chipping the phone...

Post some pictures of the case on your phone if you can. I just wanted something that will make the phone not as slippery with limited bulk possible. I'm not going to say what I want to say for the fear of jinking myself. lol

I will later today, after I exchange this defective phone...but trust me, this is the slimmest, thinnest tpu type case you could imagine for this phone..
I ended up ordering that case and another one yesterday. I guess I didn't need to start another thread.
Sorry mods.
sorry I forgot to post pics; got busy restoring the phone all day yesterday..
Trust me, if you wanted a thin, unobtrusive cast, you bought the right one..what other case did you get?

This one. Only a few bucks so what the heck. A local mall has a invisible shield store and I wanted to have them install one but they said it might be a week til they get it. Might buy one online and have them put it on. I'm kind of picky and thinking they might not stay on with a curved phone as well though. I've had clear plastic cases that don't add much bulk but that's not happening with a curved phone. lol

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...N=B00HCNFVSO&linkCode=as2&tag=androheadl04-20
I had one of those on my one maxx; its OK, for a cheapo, but not as flexible as the other one you ordered..
for the price, its worth having around.
BTW, I had installed one of those skins on my flex; it was ok for a few days, then it started to come up around the round corners, so I don't know if one is good for a rounded phone like this. I am good at installing these things, but I couldn't get it perfect...
I'm still thinking about getting LG flip case. I know it's pricey but the discount helps and it provides good protection. Don't think you need a screen protctor with that case.

MPERO FLEX S Series Protective Case for LG G Flex
It's ok and doesn't add that much bulk. I don't think it fits like it should on my Flex because I have a Otter Box 360 on. I think I just want a pouch to put my Flex in when I go golfing.

Feather Shine
So I just put the Feather Shine on - it's a nice case, and looks pretty good. There's a strange thing, however: the corners on the front are shaped/recessed in such a way that when the phone is lying face down, the phone's top and bottom edges and corners are in contact with the table. I would prefer if the feather shine was what was touching the table.
I'm very curious about the Vest thing that LG has on their site. I can only find it (so far) from Korean vendors on eBay, with 3-4 week delivery times, so I haven't pulled the trigger. It seems to be minimalist protection, focusing protection exactly on the area I am concerned about: the front corners and top and bottom edges of the phone. Does anyone know someplace in the US that's selling these?
Thanks!
I have the quick window case. It's a nice design with nice patterns and such. The only thing I didn't like was that it really doesn't stand up to scratches much. It makes a nasty scuff Mark on the front of the door where it hits the back of the phone. I bought a vest from overseas last week for $20 on eBay. We'll see how that goes.
