This requires Root Access, and a Custom Recovery.
I found this hack over in the Galaxy S II section and I got it working on the Bionic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153196
I downloaded the .zip form that post and extracted it using 7zip in Windows.
I replaced the update-binary with the one from this post:
http://cvpcs.org/blog/2011-09-16/bionic_bootstrap_recovery
Then I used 7-zip to create a new compressed file with the modified contents of the original zip.
I installed Flash version 10.3.186.6 from the market and disabled automatic updates. (If Flash gets updated past that version, you'll have to find an apk for 10.3.186.6 somewhere for this to work.)
I put that on the sd-card and booted into recovery using the bionic-bootstrap application from cvpcs. and flashed the zip from recovery.
Then I installed "Script Manager" from the market, navigated to /system/etc/init.d, selected S98fixflash and checked the "run on boot" and "run as root" checkbox.
Then I rebooted, and set Dolphin HD to use Desktop as the User Agent.
Now I can view free Hulu content on the Bionic without getting the "not supported on this platform" error.
I'm attaching the file I flashed to get this working, to save other people the trouble of repackaging it.
Standard Disclaimer: This worked for me, but I'm not responsible if this causes your phone to become a useless brick, or even if it causes your phone to sleep with your spouse, kill your pets, and/or burn your house down. After all, ymmv.
Thanks to compuw22c and cvpcs.
The titanium backup/restore method is considerably easier than this.

This thread has all the info on the TB way.
These are different things.
Those instructions get the Hulu Plus app to run on the Bionic, which requires you to pay for the Hulu Plus service.
The instructions in the original post are for watching free content available on the regular Hulu Website without having to sign up for Hulu Plus.
So after doing the steps in the original post, you could open up the Dolphin browser on your Bionic and enter the following URL:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/279868/castle-rise
And watch the episode of Castle without being a Hulu Plus member.
Gotcha...though I am already
Paying customer so the point is moot for me... Plus they just release an update for support today.

That's pretty much what the zip flashable from recovery does. Only it also creates a script to copy the patched libflashplayer.so on every boot.
So you could probably make the fix permanent on your Iconia by copying the patched libflashplayer.so to /data/flash (create the directory if it doesn't exist).
Then open a text editor on a computer (NotePad for example on Windows) and create a new document.
Paste in the following:
cp /data/flash/libflashplayer.so /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/
Then save it as hulufix.txt, and move it to the iconia.
Install script manager from the market, open it and navigate to hulufix.txt.
Select run at boot and run as root, and then reboot.
It should copy the file over at boot.
Just make sure not to update flash until some updates the patched libflashplayer.so for your device.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Actually you could just extract the zip attached to the original post, and copy libflashplayer.so to /data/flash/
Then just create the script and use script manager as desribed in my previous post and get this working on the Bionic without bothering with booting a custom recovery.
I haven't personally tested it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The update is for Hulu Plus members, this hack allows you to view the regular Hulu website from the browser on your bionic. without joining Hulu Plus.
It lets you view all the free Hulu content available on the PC on your Bionic.
Would that work on the atrix 2.
There may be a much easier way to do all this that does not require root. I JUST bought it and am going to try it out later to see how well it works. but it caught my attention in another post.
It's called Flash Video Browser Originally found on this post.
This will remove the mobile ID sent from your local browser and allow you to view full website including flash website. It is also compatible with the latest version of Flash player (Version 11)
Added bonus is it does not require root access.
Cheers,
-Java
The .zip package won't work, but all you really need to do is copy libflashplayer.so located in /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/ to your computer. Open it in a hex editor that can understand ascii
If you are using the most recent version of flash, there is a line in the file "AND 11".
Change it to "WIN 11"
if you are using the version referenced in the OP than it is "AND 10" and you should change it to "WIN 10"
copy the edited libflashplayer.so back to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/
and make sure the permissions are rwxr-xr-x
The fix will work until you reboot.
You can use a script to copy the file back at boot using script manager or init.d if you are using a rom that suports it.
I'll post a fixed libflashplayer.so for the current version of flash, and a script this afternoon.
Ok here's the libflashplayer.so file and the script this should work on any Android running 2.3
Using something like root explorer create a directory called "flash" in your data directory.
Extract both of the attached files to the new directory.
Make sure the permissions on both files are set to rwxr-xr-x
Use script-manager from the market to run 99fixhulu as root.
Now you should be able to watch hulu videos in the browser as long as the user agent is set to desktop.
If it works use script manager to run the script at boot, or put it in /system/etc/init.d if your ROM supports it.
This is for flash version 11.1.111.5
DO NOT FLASH THIS ZIP from recovery.

I used to be one of you paying hulu customers until I found out that I couldn't watch all of their videos on my Xbox 360. If I'm going to pay and upgrade to plus, I want to be able to watch all of their videos on my Xbox.
The entertainment industry has all these dumb rules and wonder why they have a problem with piracy. They don't need anything like SOPA to protect them if they have policies that make sense. If they want more users paying for hulu plus, they need to find a way to allow their paying customers to use the service how they want, not restricting and limiting access on certain devices.
On Xbox, it would allow me to watch the latest season of certain shows, but if I tried to watch the previous season, it said it wasn't available on this device. I canceled within days of realizing this. I would have kept the service if it wasn't for this issue. Instead, I kept my Netflix streaming account and supplement it with unauthorized sources (their silly limitations pushed me into having to use piracy websites to be able to watch what I want. The problem isn't my willingness to pay for content, but for the service telling me how I can and can't use their service when there is no real reason for it)

1) Install universal androot and the root explorer run universal androot to get your phone rooted you may chose soft root which only lets you temporary root till you reboot (dont worry it will not void your warrenty)
2) Download kyocera zio m6000.zip at the bottom of this post and extract it to a folder on your pc

Remove some unwanted apps or apps that came on the stock rom that are worthless to you i removed the demo games that the company put on it and that gave me enough free space you need 6.50 mega bytes free to use this i made it as small as i could with out making it look like crap. you can remove some of the apps from /data/app i would recomend to back up the files before u delete them in case u have to put them back.
I have tried to copy the new pngs to the assets folder, but every time. I do, the original files replace the new ones. The closest I got was when I rebooted and I saw the first png of the original cricket boot animation, then it skipped all but the very last one of the new png I attempted to install.
Can anybody help me?

Apparently, the same number of images as the original must be used?
I tried one of my own, using boot screen found elsewhere on XDA that had more images. Didn't work.
Going to play around w/ the images today, reduce the count to the same as the original and see if that's indeed the case.
Or maybe it was the size of the images. I dunno yet.
Doesn't do a thing to my Cricket Zio.

Hmm
but listen, I can't get the phone into USB debug mode, so how can I run the updater? At the moment I'm stuck with fastboot. Normal boot is black screen, no response of any kind, no adb.

Hello,
I'm running leaked version of 2.2 but apparently issue with any device which is rooted. I'm trying to get "Good for Enterprise" and market does not show it's as avaialble. Good support confirmed that they turned on "copy protection" on their application published to market. here is part of what SDK says
"Forward-Locked Applications
To forward lock an application, set copy protection to "On" when you upload the application to Market. Market will not show copy-protected applications on developer devices or unreleased devices."
Anybody has any idea how to circumvent this?

This is not only my first Android app, but this is also my first dive in Java. Please be gentle as I expect there are several uncaught / improperly handled exceptions.
This app will backup selected files to a zip file that can be restored via cwm. For now, that is all it does. It can be handy for the oc/uv crowd since it will allow you to keep a backup of a good S_volt_scheduler init file to flash in case your new setting are too aggressive. It does not currently restore permissions, nor does it assume root permissions.
todo:
Obtain root to copy any file
Integrate a file selector so read permissions will not be an issue.
Detect/Restore permissions
Possible feature additions:
Create a restore.zip from current files based on an update.zip you want to apply. Could save you from boot loops when messing with system files.
Create a restore.zip given a file, a target directory, and permissions.
I will probably add this to the market once I get through the todos and initial bugs.
Changelog:
20110303
Multi-file capable. OIFileManager does not yet support multi-select, so each file must be selected seperately
Exception caught for mission OIFileManager
_delete.zip file seems to work correctly in recovery
Since I am not yet using root and OIFileManager will not assume root, there are some directories that cannot be viewed, /data/app for example. There are also some files that can be selected but cannot be copied due to their permissions.
Requires OIFileManager
Nice, will be useful
This looks like it could be a useful/powerful app. It could definitely benefit from some features (more than one file/location would be great) but I can see myself using this.
Thanks!

I was able to get the hulu mod to work inside dolphin browser HD, and also the tethering option in the laptop dock to work, I used Ririal's script to root the phone on the latest 4.1.57 and then ran these commands in a adb shell as ROOT :
for hulu please updated flash player to 10.2 first in the market then apply the libflashplayer.so (can be found in the latest gingerblur package) file to lib folder of the flash player ::>
cp -f libflashplayer.so /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
then we go on to unlocking the APN's and borrow some of the code from gingerblur mod from the addons batch file ::>
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
cp -f sqlite3 /system/bin/sqlite3
chmod 755 /system/bin/sqlite3
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db "UPDATE carriers set preloaded='false';"
/system/bin/sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db "INSERT INTO carriers (name, numeric, mcc, mnc, apn, user, server, password, proxy, port, mmsproxy, mmsport, mmsc, mmsc2, authtype, type, current, preloaded) VALUES ('AT&T (FREE TETHER)','310410','310','410','wap.cingular','[email protected]','','CINGULAR1','','80','wireless.cingular.com ','80','http://mmsc.cingular.com ','','-1','','1','false');"
reboot
and now you are done, next go to the APN's and check they are unlocked then change the AT$T US tether APN type to nothing, then add the "tether" with a comma at the end of the APN type of AT$T US HSDPA , then reboot the phone, once in webtop you can change from the free tether to hdspa then the verification nag will go away and you will be able use the laptop dock.
If anyone can put all this in a script as i got no brains to do a script right now
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE OR ANYTHING THAT RELATES TO THIS POST, THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY !
With that being said have fun
EDIT :
And confirmed sideloading working, issue this command in adb shell as ROOT ::>
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "UPDATE secure SET value=1 WHERE name='install_non_market_apps';"
Then reboot, now you can install apps direct from the sd card.
EDIT 2:

Couldn't you just use the zip files
(hulu, webtop, hdmi etc) included separately in the kennethpenns gingerblur thread? Wouldnt that work through tenfars cwm without actually installing gingerblur itself or are those specific to gingerblur only?
Edit: Actually I just answered my own question! lol the zips all install fine on stock 4.1.57 with root but do they work? I'll find out soon enough...

That i have no idea if it is possible or not, as these commands are for the purists that want CrapyBlur on and the original look without doing anything else to the file system.
I think it is in gingerblur add on packages BUT you would need the sqlite from the main package, so i guess this is the best bet for now !

Actually installing those zips on stock work through cwm! So thats good enough for me! Thats cool! Because I like gingerblur but for some damn reason whenever I install it? my wifi is weak and disconnects alot... I have no idea why??
Indeed got it working
Although, what have you guys seen in terms of how well HULU works? For me it's a little buggy. The video has issues with commercials not loading properly. I assume this is normal.
But all the other video controls seem to be fickle

The reason ads wont play is probably because you have ad blocking setup on your phone. What rom and root did you use? The regular vids will still play but commercials wont come through. LOL big loss!
thanks
you are right. it does work without the ads working. one thing i noticed is that the speed is a little slow on hulu using the webtop. i.e. the video is choppy. has anyone had any experiemce with that? is it something that can be sped up?

I noticed that too. Honestly gingerblur somehow, someway was having an adverse reaction on my wifi(though I seem to be the only one with this problem) I flashed back to stock, rooted, installed all the seperate zips from gingerblur without installing gingerblur itself using tenfars cwm recovery. Then I flashed gladiatrix rom also and my wifi has been perfect and hulu is running at normal speed with no choppiness.
The only thing with hulu is you gotta uninstall flash player 10.2 and grab the one from the market. Then grab a file called libflashplayer.so and copy it to data/data/com.adobeflashplayer/lib put it inside that folder using root explorer and it should ask you to overwrite click yes. Then open dolphin hd in settings make sure flash plugin is set to always on and that the agent is set as desktop. Then go to hulu.com click a video and it should play fine and with sound cause I was having a problem with no sound but this fixes it!
As far as the webtop is concerned?I think the webtop in general is buggy and laggy but still an awesome feature to have it probably will get better with more updates.
just wanna be sure here the only line i need to enable the hulu mod is this?
cp -f libflashplayer.so /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
Now that the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook is out, how hard would it be to pull the Nook files and create a cwm-flashable zip so we could get access to the Nook app store and potentially a better reader app and the UI on our Nook HD/HD+ running CM11?
I have been wondering the same thing for my devices. I actually went so far as to get the apk for the apps. However, when I loaded the apk and logged in, the device would run the apps but I could not do anything once inside and the kids section would not show the books that I have. I could see the books I had in the regular books section but I could not read any of them. It gave me a message about not being able to download to this device. I have no knowledge of editing the apk for use but I'll put it out there for people to work on.
Anyone have a idea of how to modify this apk to get it to work on CM11 or other ROMS?
The app probably has a build-in prevention to not allow the non-stock rom to run.
OK, I'm certain I'm about to show my ignorance but, why does this link not download NookApp.apk?
That's what the link says but the actual file downloaded was NookApp.zip, and there is no apk file inside. Is an apk file just a wrapper, similar to epub, so that I can change the name from apk to zip to look inside? Can I just rename NookApp.zip to NookApp.apk? I want to poke around with this but I'm confused.
Thanks.

Yes, an apk is really a special zip that has been renamed so that it can be installed in android. So yes, you should be able to just rename it to apk so it can be installed. And any apk can be renamed a zip and explored.
Edit: It really does download as an apk. Your software may have recognized it as a zip as part of downloading and renamed it to a zip. (Or Windows may just be displaying it as a zip if you have Windows set to not show extensions of known file types). But what I said above holds.

I see you're right. I was using IE11 and it downloads as a zip. If I download using Firefox, it downloads as an apk. Strange. I've never ran into that before.
Thanks.

Alright. The nook app let's me log in and empty categories. However I do not know what directories it is looking for things in since nothing has anything in it. Also shop will not load, as in it loads, but says no data found.
Using cm11, m11 build.

On Stock, the default nook directory is in /data/nookmedia.

So we should be able to create/modify that folder to trick it into working or is there more to it than that. It will see some of my books but I can't access them.

Thanks hmiem81 for posting the apk. I can also see my books, but not download them. Also, it says not authorized on this device. That makes me wonder if messing with the build.prop might fix it? But I don't know the info for the Galaxy Tab Nook.
Update: it created a NOOK folder, so I assume files should be placed in the appropriate subfolder. However, it won't recognize that any files are there. Also, even though it registers as an epub reader, when I try to open an epub from a file manager it crashes, so it can't be used to read drm-free epubs either.
Does anybody have the latest apk for version 1.2.1.120? I'd also be grateful if somebody could post the build.prop from a Galaxy Tab Nook. Thanks.
