I received my Nexus 7.
Logged in with my Google account. Set up wallet. Nothing.
Checked online and cannot find a step that I missed. I thought that when I sign in with my Google username and password, and my Google Wallet account, it would appear in the drop down as a payment type for play store purchases. All I have is my main credit card listed in the play store. I did get the $10 credit from Wallet, but not the $25 from the pre-order.
Any ideas?

I believe the $25 credit is for the Play Store and won't show up in your wallet.
When you make a purchase in the Play Store it should show you how much credit you have left.
I haven't tried this yet, but I believe this is how it works from the other posts I've read.

Also, you must you the account you used to set up your Nexus.

Yeah, I simulated purchasing an app and the drop down only had my credit card, not the card and play credit like I have seen in screen shots.
I guess I will call Google.
When I ordered my N7 I clicked the little box that said "link my account" and then when I went to the play store I got an email saying I was credited. Have you tried rebooting and/or resetting?
Sent from my Nexus 7
yeah, i got that email too.
Ordered: Wednesday
Delivered: Today (Friday)
I also received my email (@gmail) today with the $25 credit info. I think it came shortly after I signed into the device using my gmail account.
Transformers was pre-loaded on the device in my Play store / Movies, but you can manually "download" it too which I'm doing and it takes about 1.5 hours FYI...
I got an email saying my play store credit was ready for use!

I just got my N7 and signed in, before the setup was finished I got an email on my phone saying my $25 credit was available and how to select it for purchases.
Can I buy a six pack?????
Just wanted to update for future use. I performed a factory reset and when I reentered my Google information I immediately received my play credit.
Thanks all for the suggestions.

I had to re enter the credit card that was already associated with the account and then it was there. A little strange but simple enough.
Once I set up my Google Account, it told me that I 'qualify for the $25 Credit for the Play Store', but I needed to set up a credit card first. After adding the one that I already had in there, it said 'The credit card you set up doesn't qualify for the credit.' I guess it's because it's an Austrian credit card.
Bottom line: all you should have to do is link it to your account and add a credit card.

How come some people are getting 10 dollars from google wallet as well as the 25 from the play store?
I have 2 nexus 7's on the way, will I be able to get 2x $25 credit on one google account with both of the devices?
Never received my $25 credit so I called Google. They had me do a factory reset only and as soon as I logged in I received the $25 credit. I did not have to add a new credit card or delete the existing one (only a factory reset and it worked).
Has anyone else run in to this problem?
My sister was setting hers up and she didn't know her password. She skipped signing in during the setup and reset her password (after setup). Then I did a factory reset and she did the initial setup again, this time signing in with her Google account.
We never saw the screen mentioning the free $25, nor did she receive an email about it.

Yes I have the same issue. No credit and no email. I already had a credit card in Wallet so I've deleted it and reentered it, but still no credit. Trying to avoid doing a reset and I've emailed Google but I won't hold my breath.
Same here, No 25$, already tried every method possible. Waiting for replay from Google.

All you need to do is go to the play store chose a app you wanna buy, then it will ask you from which credit card you wanna pay with than from the drop down menu you can choose the 25$ credit!

This is not working.
I pre-ordered a nexus 7 8G and it came last Friday. I logged into playstore and got notified of my 25$ credit. Seeing it's a solid tablet I decided to give it to my parents. The next day, I walked into bestbuy and got a 16G, but I didn't get any credit after I linked it w/ my Google account.
I checked the playstore online and didn't find a place to complain, because it wasn't ordered from the playstore.
I'm wondering if anyone else is on the same boat as mine? Is there a way to claim the credit?

There was a glitch where a factory restore would allow you to get extra credit so to combat that they probably took away the ability to get multiple credits to one gmail account. Just a guess'

I bought two from play store.. one connected to my google one to wifes.. only got one $25 credit.. CS told me it was one $25 credit per Credit card...
My understanding is that you only get the credit once per google account. So if you linked the 1st tablet to your google account and were given the credit than you're done no more credits because it's linked to the account not the device.
Do a factory data reset, have your parent create their own Google account and sign in with it. They should get the $25 credit during initial setup once they link a credit card. Just activated my 2nd unit yesterday with my other Google account and got the credit right no problem.
Two different CC cards? Or the same CC on the two google accounts?
Use your parents Google Account to activate, should load the credit on their account.
It's one credit per account, due to all these replacement units... People would be getting $25 credits for each defective unit they'd received.
Next day shipping for some, not even a tracking number here. Did anyone get a Netflix code if you bought with Google Play?
I bought 4 of them. 1 from Google Play and 3 from Amazon. One of the Amazon ones I paid $3.99 (I have Prime) to get it today. It came this morning and I've been rocking ever since. Ironically, I bought the one from Google Play first and it says expected arrival is August 4th. I'll have the other two from Amazon tomorrow. The one from Google Play cost more for shipping than the overnight one from Amazon.

I got the 3-5 business day shipping which bumped the price to 45. I thought Google only takes out the money when it ships? Right now, it says my order is pending. Did you get any info for the free Netflix?
Seems since I ordered it on the 24th at 9PM EST, I won't be able to get my own Netflix code :/
No word on Netflix from Google or Amazon.

Just got off the phone with GP Support that the code will be sent when it ships, and that the event actually ended 1 AM of the 25th, so that's a sigh of relief
Amazon cutoff for Netflix was July 24 5:31pm PST. If you ordered before that time, you'll get the code via email. If you ordered afterwards, you're SOL.
Ordered mine from Google Play on the 24th, a few minutes after the announcement. I just got the email saying it's been shipped. Hopefully will have it tomorrow.
Ordered mine during announcement on Play store, shipped out that night via UPS Ground, delivered yesterday.
Got Netflix code yesterday morning. I had to use Firefox to redeem, Chrome was throwing a too many redirects error.
I ordered mine in the evening on the 24th from Amazon and I don't even have an estimated shipping date. No big deal, I don't really need it right away. I want to see if it will be a good replacement for the laptop I have dedicated to my TV now.
I ordered mine from bestbuy, and it should be in next week either Monday or Wednesday
I got an email from Google at 1:35am this morning that mine has shipped. The tracking is via UPS but the tracking number starts with a 9 not a 1Z which means that UPS will hand it off to USPS. Looking at the tracking shows that UPS hasn't received yet.
Edit: About 10 minutes after I made this post I got an email from Google with my Netflix 3-month gift code. Bravo, Google!
Edit 2: I redeemed my gift code with a couple of clicks and sure enough Netflix credited $23.97 to my account.
The Chromecast is fantastic at $35. For $11 it's spectacular!

Ugh! I live in SoCal. My tracking shows it's shipping from La Vergne, Tennessee. Estimated arrival is Wednesday.
When Amazon shipped the three I bought from them it came from Ontario, California, about a half hour drive from me.
Google isn't a retailer, that's for sure.
Ordered one from Google Play Wednesday right after the conference. Said it would ship by July 27 at the time. That night I received shipping confirmation and also got an email with the Netflix link:
Welcome to Chromecast.
Enjoy 3 months of Netflix on us and start casting.
Hi xxxxxx,
Your Chromecast is on its way.
After setting it up, you can start casting from Netflix and other apps to your TV using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Netflix has thousands of movies and TV shows, and Chromecast is the easy way to watch all of it on your TV.
Redeem your 3 months of Netflix to use on a new or existing account by clicking the link below.
Bought the 2nd air option and it says out for delivery to arrive today. In the mean time, they showed up as available for my local best buy store, so I bought one there for in store pickup which I got this morning. The Netflix code for that one was emailed right after I picked it up in store.
I received mine today from Google Play. But I did not receive any Netflix codes bought during announcement. I called Google they said to contact Netflix, called Netflix they told me Google had to give it to me. Called Google back they had to open a support ticket, they didn't know who to contact. But it does work as really good just wish I had my Netflix code to break it in
I ordered mine off Play Store two days ago and opted for the most express shipping option (was only +$6 but yeah, doesn't compete with Prime). I just got it a couple of hours ago and been messing with it a bit at work.
Unfortunately it's very fickle about WiFi. It doesn't like all the WiFi APs/Repeaters we have and gets stuck trying to connect to office wifi (or some other router/firewall settings here).
I did manage to configure it by connecting it and my phone to my Verizon MiFi card.
Very disappointed I can't seem to broadcast my Chrome browser off my phone/tablet -- just off the desktop???

That sucks. I got my NetFlix code from Google within a day, about the same time they sent me the shipping notice. You probably hit the cut-off.
As someone who's worked for Google, good luck dealing with their customer service We once had a teammate's GMail backend completely break on him and we contacted the GMail/SRE team (we were also SREs) and they told us to GTFO and go through official channels, as if we weren't employees. Needless to say, the productivity of one of my coworkers was unnecessarily hampered for about a week. I think he ended up looking at server logs and debugging it himself, discovering that the instance running his GMail was in some sort of crash-loop.
Saturday now, gonna have to wait until Monday for any new updates :/

With Amazon offering 5 free apps = 1000 Amazon coins ($10) for purchases from the Amazon App Store currently, you can get both Plex and Avia (in app upgrade) for free and still have plenty left over to get a game or two.
- You must buy through the Amazon App Store, using your U.S. account (Canadian account won't work)
- You have to "purchase" and download the 5 listed free apps, but you don't have to install them unless you want to
- You get 200 Amazon coins for each of them, arrives in your account within a minute or so
- You can then use the 1000 coins for buying apps or making in-app purchases up to $10 worth
Definitely works for Plex and the Avia in-app upgrade. AllCast not listed unfortunately (there's an AllCast for FireTV, so Amazon may consider the Chromecast version a competitor)
actually if you haven't already, use 700 of those coins to buy GTA and get an additional 2000 coins. this plus the info above left me with a bunch of free apps (which you don't have to install if you don't want) GTA which i believe is for Fire TV and therefore have no use for. plex, avia and $22 in coins to use for future purchases. Thanks for reminding me to try my US account and not just my canadian account. Thought I was SOL.
Amazon have lost their minds. With all the promos they're offering this weekend, I've so far downloaded 3 paid apps I wanted for free, and ended with $30 in app store credit to spend in future. Since you can start with a free download that gives you some credit, and then leverage that to give you back more credit than you spend, I bet with a little work you could end owning every app that Amazon offers and still have a $1 million credit!

Those free coins doesn't happens usually. I'm too with like 3300 coins ($33) in my account. If I'm not wrong, they expire after a year.

Yes, these deals are infrequent. You are also correct - promotional/bonus coins expire after a year, but they are used before purchased coins when redeeming, so as long as you get something with coins every now and then, you will be fine.
But for some reason Amazon is giving away more coins than advertised at the moment. For example people buying GTA San Andreas for 699 coins are getting back 2500 coins instead of the advertised 2000. I bought a 99 cent app offering 30 coins back and got 200 coins instead. Ditto for other apps offering coins.
Yeah.. I saw that. Probably a bug. I evem bought one and the coins didn't change.
Nice find. Any other recommended apps? I am in Canada as well, just had to indicate a US address on account. Hope this does't spoil it. Had to purchase the San Adreas via PC but I don't have a kindal Worth for the bonus.
Looking to spend the rest of these coins too, any other apps recommended? Don't have too many via Amazon, picked up the Avia for sure or was it Plex, i dunno, i like free stuff.
Thanks OP and follows ups for the tips.
FYI i was using a VPN via phone to make purchases however, online just had to log into account.
So you just put a US address on your Canadian account and it worked?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Many of the Amazon app special offers are U.S.-only, and while Amazon coins are now supported in several countries, they aren't yet in Canada. But all you have to do to take advantage of these offers if you have an existing Canadian Amazon account is change the country in your account settings to United States, and give it any U.S. address (tip: you might want to choose a tax-free state, because taxes do apply to digital purchases). You don't have to use a VPN.
You could also create a separate U.S. Amazon account, but be aware that Amazon apps are DRM-restricted to one account. Every time an Amazon app runs on your Android device it checks the current Amazon account login on the device to make sure it matches (you will be prompted to log in if you are not currently logged in to Amazon). The app will refuse to run if the device is not logged in to the correct Amazon account. You can only be logged in to one account at a time. If you have some apps purchased through one Amazon account and some purchased another Amazon account, you will have to keep switching accounts to run them. There is no way to consolidate app purchases on different accounts. However apps purchased by one account with different countries selected at different times are fine because it's all one account. And you can use the same account and purchased apps on any number of devices.
Thanks for that breakdown. I had originally used my separate account for the US stuff and put that on my tablet. but getting my canadian account recognized was the better move. wish I had learned of this sooner but still took advantage of this promo.

You will probably get code after trade in period is over
I believe it says the usual 6-8 weeks. The email associated with your order needs to be tied to Google Pay to get the credit.

Yeah, it's the same as all their deals. Just so you don't return the phone after you get the promo. The site says, "Customers will receive an email notifying them Promotional Balance is added to their account 6-8 weeks after the end of the promotion (October 26, 2019 at 11:59pm PT) ... Promotional balance expires on 01/31/20 11:59pm PT."
I cancelled the Google Store pre-order and got it from Amazon. $100 at Amazon is more useful than at the Google Store in my opinion.
If you have Fi and get it on Fi they just pull it out of your bill until it's consumed; works for me.
The google credit is mentioned in the fine print, I had to scroll to the very bottom. I am hesitant to order from Verizon since they have a history of locking the bootloader, currently they have $450 credit for trading in a phone like the Pixel.
Verizon=just say no. Not ever. Uh-uh. Not going to happen. Ever. Example: Saving 400 on Verizon equals walking through 500 miles of dog feces barefoot before you get the opportunity to lick a goats sphincter. Yeah, you could do that because your tough and all that and you end up 400 dollars richer but do you really need to save 400 dollars that much?

Don't know how it works if you finance but if you pay cash they are SIM unlocked immediately, I took one over to Tmo simply by sticking my SIM in before I even booted it up for the first time. The bootloader can also be unlocked but again I'm referring to a cash buy, it may be different if you finance.

I think you're right, financing=SIM-Locked, Cash=Unlocked!
I didn't say that, I said I didn't know what the situation was with financed devices. Fi is super straight up when you call them, if I was interested in picking one up via financing there I would give them a quick shout and see what they say.
I just read that you can order through the Goog store, get their 100 credit but select via Fi on checkout and then turn around and get their 100 credit also, seems like one is slipping through a crack that may be closing at any time.

A nice perk if you have a google One paid account. I got $99.90 in credit on Google (10%) as a One customer and will also get the $100 credit. I'll wait and get the pixel buds for free when they come out in the spring if my credit does not expire before then. I did not notice an expiration date but maybe I missed it.

Unfortunately the credit would expire prior to the buds being out, unless maybe they allow pre-orders very early in the year, or they release them earlier than 'spring'.

My store credit dropped just before black Friday week last year. That plus $50 off the Nest home hub, that sucker was mine for $50. This year it's $100, so I'm pretty sure the Nest hello will be mine, that or an outdoor camera for really cheap. Crossing fingers it comes before then!
