It's weird everytime I slide the keyboard the screen is like blackout for secs...
About my phone:
I bought a second hand X1 online. And I sent the phone for being refurbished by a ' refurbisher' shop online too. The keyboard, casing and digitizer is fixed with new box and new accessories.
i read after google about bad cable in X1 but my problem is temporary. can it be an initial sign of cable failure???
ADD:
Sometimes the screen become irresponsive at all. I have to reset the phone manually. Is it another intial sign of something?
i have the similar problem, but mine is worse
when i slide my keyboatd out my screen completely blacks out,and i need to slide back in,then wake up the phone.i still havent found a fix for that.
Oh the dreaded flex ribbon issue. There is a fix for that, you have to buy a new one and replace it. Unfortunately you will have to open up your device to replace it, which is easier than it sounds. Here is a link that details the issue and the possible fix for it.

I eventually upgraded because the flex ribbon goes out all the time. I've replaced mine 3 times already. Sucks because I really liked the keyboard on the X1. I still contemplate re-fixing it for the hell of it.

Oh yeah, here is another thread on issues with the X1.

My Xperia X1 is currently experiencing problems. The screen no longer lights up!
I started experiencing this problem a while ago, when opening and closing the device.
Day by day everything went from bad to worse and at one point it no longer lit up!
At first I thought there was some kind of screen problem so I bought one new LCD off ebay.
I disassembled my Xperia carefully following a tutorial on youtube.com and replaced the screen. Nothing changed. The screen didn't light up.
The strange thing is that everything else worked! Sound, buttons, vibration etc. all work without a glitch.
I had gave up my hopes of reviving my device and for four long months it simply got dusty. That is, until I found this post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561151
I opened my device and realised that I have the same problems mentioned in that post.
Thus, in an attempt to solve the issues I opened my phone and took the following pictures.
Please can anybody confirm that I have flex ribbon issues and tell me what I can do to solve this problem once and for all? Can I fix it or do I need a new Xperia flex ribbon?
I can't wait to start using my 'old' device again!
Look like a flex ribbon issue to me. You can fix it by getting a flex ribbon of course. I've had 3 go out on me...thinking about giving up on this phone entirely.
As mentioned in the previous thread re: similar problem, the flex will always be the culprit in any device with slide or flip form factor, not limited to Xperia. Most of the repairs coming in are for flex damage, regardless of the device price and quality.
I had no issues with replaced flexes on Xperia, once installed they serve their life span (albeit short one). It is possible to reinforce the flex, provided your tape is a very fine one, it needs to run in particular place only, e.g. where it is physically rubbed and bent the most.
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone.
The touch screen has a problem whereby it seems to be like you are pressing the screen (but not actually touching the screen at all) and the "Applications" touch area of the screen activates randomly.
Like "phantom" finger touches.
It seems to be a problem around the lower right hand side of the touch screen.
Does anyone know what might be causing it and how to fix it?
I have the same problem.
but i have to say it begun when i installed ICS on my phone (i9000)
and after i took back the 2.3.6 and the problem is still here.....
i cant go to the service 'cause im abroad until june....

anyway i have the problem on the lower left side of the screen....
Hi,
My problem is not related to a software upgrade because i have not upgraded the thing in many months. This problem is only a few weeks old. I guess it might be due to an app update, but i don't see how.
i have some bad news pal....
i brought my phone to the service and they said that i have to replace the touchscreen...
I went to the samsung support web site, got the address of a local Samsung service center, and went in. They said the phone has a 2 year guarantee, so they replaced the touch screen for free. It was a Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
Dropped it into the shop in the morning, had a working phone back that same afternoon. I did not have any purchase receipt, so they just used the serial number of the unit to check if it was still in guarantee or not.
Had the same problem when my phone got a bit wet, turned if off and removed battery, waited some hours to let it dry in a warm place, then I just set everything back together and problem was gone.
Hope this helps.
I got my phone on Wednesday (4/8/15) and everything was perfect with the phone nut as of last night (4/9/15) noticed that camera was not rotating and it was kept on landscape, and also applications like youtube would not automatically rotate from portrait to landscape. I verified the screen rotation setting and it was on, did a factory reset and nothing. Called Samsung and no help there they don't know what the problem is. Went to an AT&T store and they could not find the root of the problem, so they are trying to get me a new phone. But while I wait I would like to see if there is a solution because if I can solve it (with help) before I get the new one I can cancel that order. Any one with same issue or knowledge of how to get it fix? please help
Same here
I had it rotate maybe once right when I got it and then it stopped and I have not been able to get the phone to rotate at all, photo, video, web browsing nothing. I am about to do a factory reset to pray and see if that clears it up.... if not its back to AT&T for me as well.
I installed a level app and it at least appears that the accelerometer is registering motion and position, but I am not sure if its reporting right (angles dont really look like the angle they should be.) So I could be faulty hardware/firmware.

it looks like the gyroscope maxes at 30 degree's when the phone is stood on end (which should be 90). Wonder if this is a software/firmware bug, and I am going to assume 30 degrees inst enough to cause the phone to rotate and change position.
I have the exact same issue. 64gb sapphire black edge.
By any chance do you have a wireless charger?

don't have a wireless charger yet. should be getting it next week. but tried the wireless changing at an AT&T store and it worked well. as of the screen issue have to wait 5 business days to get a new phone from the store since neither AT&T or Samsung can figure out the problem. and I am noticing more and more people with same issue here and other forums
I'm giving it a few days for some sort of solution to pop up. If nothing I'm jumping on the return wagon as well. :/
Had the same issue as well. I went to best buy to get a new phone.
I think it might have something to do with the fast charger as it might have fired the gyroscope, because my rotate worked fine till I took it off the wireless charge and plugged into the faster charger.
Best bet would be to call up Samsung and ask them if they there is a issue with this and hopefully they will send out an update (If possible) to fix the gyroscope.
Software issue
I just spoke on the phone with Samsung. This is a known issue and it is NOT a broken gyroscope. It is a software issue and they are working on a fix.
Samsung called too a few hours ago. They are checking on the issue and also there will be an update soon.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using XDA Free mobile app
I got a verizon S6 edge and it also has the same issue.
I got the black one with 64 gigs and it has the same problem verizon gave me brand new phone as it is under 14 days replacement. I also found that if your mobile is not fast charging just push the usb cable gently into the charger. If you want to use slow charging you can pull it out slightly. There are two modes in the charger.
Right after I take the watch off the charger, the top 1/8th of the screen flashes white for several minutes. After the watch has been on for a little while it goes away. Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else.

I haven't seen it on my watch, but there is a thread or two about this same issue in the G Watch R section. They have the same display, so you might take a look there.

same issue to me, occurs only when I take the watch off the charger. but my screen also flicker and flashes white randomly parts of screen for 25 minutes and remains flickering the top of screen for about 45 minutes more, until it goes away. (don't occurs every day..... maybe once to three times per week) is very frustrating!!!
I think is a firmware issue, (this issue start since 5.1.1 lollipop update)
if someone have or found the solution please share.
thanks
I'm also having similar problems. However, mine isn't happening after charging - it can happen any time.
The first time I noticed it, was right after landing on a flight from UK to US (it had been in theatre mode for the whole flight). Happened a few more times throughout my trip - so I made a recording of it.
I too have the same problem
Any update regarding this issue?
should i ask the seller for replacement or should i keep it?
is this a software or hardware problem.
I'm going to replace mine - but I need to wait for a lug removal tool so I can get my engineer II strap off it and put the original back on.
Bought via Amazon, so thankfully replacement will be straight forward.

Hey guys! Didn't saw this post, so I've made one in the other day... (http://forum.xda-developers.com/watch-urbane/help/white-flat-tire-glitch-update-forced-one-t3193006).
Anyway, it's the exact same problem... But it only happened to me three times... Always after taking it from charging... Besides that, it never appeared in any other situations...
Next week goes take it to warranty... Just to see What they say...
Oh and I've forced the last update by sideload (Android wear Version 1.3 (LCA44B)) ... Anyone like me?

Going to know that within a week or so...
But in my opinion... It's a hardware problem... The issue persists even after a reeboot...
So far it looks like the Wear Mini launcher was causing it for me. I deleted it and now it's fine
Before I start, this phone is a T-Mobile (SM-N910T) running Android 6.0.1
It was bought from eBay. So no warranty.
The screen is half normal (the left half) and the right half is shades of grey (please see attachment).
Here is what I did to troubleshoot:
1- Took the motherboard out and connected it to a fully working screen. I got the same symptom (like you see in the attachment).
2- Connected a different motherboard to the original screen. I got a normal display.
I got to the conclusion that the problem is not with the screen but with the motherboard.
Is there any way to fix this motherboard?
Thanks for any suggestions.
over on the general note 4 forums i found this link, https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/adreno-420-drivers-note-4-t3546566
mhmdalsfas has ported qualcomms' driver update for our chips and he compiled it as a TWRP flashable .zip for all the snapdragon variants. If you have physical hardware issues going on this may not help but I hope that it does help you though.

just for good measure have you reflashed the phone via ODIN? if not see if that maybe helps? it would rule out software related problems
Thanks for your suggestion.
I actually did reflash using Odin but that did not help at all.
Ty
I have the exact same thing happened and what you have is a hardware issue .... but I was able to fix mine.... you have two plugs that connect your screen to your motherboard... there is a thin ribbon and a larger one.....the bigger plug is the one for your display... it's lined with 20 million microscopic little pins it only takes one time when you pop that plug out to offsetting one of those pins for when you plug it back in it's not lined up with the other pin to the plug that you're plugging in.....how I fixed it was you want to get yourself a good magnifying glass and the smallest sewing needle you can find and search each pin until you see the one that doesn't match the others obviously.... and try bending it or moving it back where it should be and carefully put your screen back in.....I realized I got very lucky when I was able to fix mine and I hope you have the same luck
