Orange UK Atrix working hacks

Got my Atrix on Friday and thought I would share the working hacks!
Root
Download Gingerbreak 1.2 APK via XDA app via your phone and run it. Root done!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Webtop over HDMI
Download zip in post below... rename old files (odex and apks in system/app) to .bak and copy new files there using root explorer. Phone will loop on force close when you rename portal.apk but just take battery out and power it back on.

So you confirm there is no way to get gingerbread on Orange Atrix for now?
I would add that CWM and gingerblur / greyblur are working for me using this:
http://briefmobile.com/atrix-4g-rom-installation-guide
Guys a little help needed please.
I have a Orange UK Atix and was on the stock rom and installed Gingerblur through Tenfars CW Mod, the problem being when it had installed and I rebooted from CWM my phone is stuck in a boot loop ( the phone wont go past the moto boot logo and has the LED notification light flashing red ).
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
All help is greatly appreciated.

No I can't confirm that but I'm not going to be the first to try!

Gingerblur is for the Atrix 4g isn't it? Is that not slightly different hardware? Ie you've probably bricked your phone. Although guy above said he flashed it so best pm him or try a reflash and wipe.
Personally I don't see the point in risking a flash for the same os with a gingerbread theme. Theres not going to be any advantage. I only put the other hacks as they are relatively risk free and you can unroot or remove the patched webtop etc if you have any issues.

Goto the stock android recovery and do a data wipe/factory reset after that take both your SD & SIM out and power it back on, you can put back the SIM & SD after its working.

yep this should fix it, but using gingerblur over orange rom is a bad idea, different framework files etc. it should work but i wouldnt recommend it, google UOT kitchen and you can make your own gingerbread theme for the orange rom as long as your rooted
How do I go to the stock android recovery?
hold vol down while turning on, then keep pressing it until it says android recovery then press vol up, then when it shows an android logo you have to tap the bottom right corner of screen a few times to get options to show up
Works great on t-mobile stock.

thanks guys.... managed to sort it....
Plugged the charger in and got into Tenfars CWM and fortunately I had made a back up prior to installing it.
Can I ask one more favour.... Has anyone made a gingerbread theme with UOT Kitchen? If so is it possible I could get a copy of it please.

[Q]Rooting/Unrooting

I just got my bionic today and I was browsing through the forums and couldn't find any sbf files. If I were to root my phone and get rid of all bloat, how could I get it back to stock in case of a warranty exchange? I've been a DROID X user for a very long time and there was always an sbf method of getting back to stock and have it like you just bought it. I don't want to root my phone unless there's a way to get back to stock.
Thanks

There are a few ways to root/unroot your device. To get it back to stock I would recommend using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262540
Using the Fastboot Images ZIP (system.img, boot.img) is the safest way imo. This will restore the phone to factory default (pre .893)
Cheers,
Java
Thank you my friend. Wow, shocked that Motorola is no longer using sbf files. This will work. I'm on 893 that's what my phone came preinstalled with.

Cannot get past Android Upgrading on 2233

No matter what I try I cannot get past this screen.
//merickk.smugmug.com/Other/Misc/Miscellaneous-Stuff-1/i-P8ZBVg4/0/L/0626120050-L.jpg
I've even tried to moto-flash the mbm and cdt files from a downloaded leak file and no luck there either.
Formatting the internal memory after FXZing back to 902 and installing the leak on a fresh formatted SD card with only the leak file on it after OTAing to 905 doesn't work either. I've tried 6 or 7 2233 files, and a couple 2231 files as well as a couple different 902 FXZ files.
ICS is there somewhere otherwise I don't think it'd get that far into the boot process and charge the battery.
When I do a battery pull and try to reboot, it just sits at the Droid screen.
Pulling the battery while plugged in takes me to the Dual Core screen where it sits.
When sitting at the starting applications screen I am able to get tactile feedback when pressing and holding the home key but after sitting for an hour or so there is no feedback from the home key. No response from any of the other keys. The keys are also lit up.
This has happened every time with every leak file I've flashed the exact same way.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Quite a conundrum... Maybe you should wait for the OTA to come out, let it brick your phone, then take it to Verizon and demand to trade it in for a phone with good battery life and no data drops? lol. If I were in your shoes and it looked like the ICS update was gonna make my phone eligible for a warranty replacement, I'd use that as an opportunity to let Verizon spring for a new device. Just sayin'.
My guess is you either currently have or have had CWM recovery installed. If so.... uninstall safestrap/bootstrap, then use root explorer go to/system/bin and delete 2 files... "hijack" and "logwrapper", then change the name of "logwrapper.bin" to just "logwrapper" once you have done that, reboot into stock recovery and try again!
Thats the only thing i can think of, i know the above will solve the problem of getting the error when attempting to flash. Sounds like yours flashed but just wont finish booting.

[HOW TO] Restore S4 Samsung Boot Animation

This is originally taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41197343
How to Restore Original Samsung Boot Animation
This requires Root and a root file manager.
1 - Download and extract the S4_Original_BootAnimation.zip
http://db.tt/j1qlUFIY
Make sure you have R/W permissions in system/media before copying over.
2 - Copy the files from the S4_Original_BootAnimation.zip to the system/media folder replacing the original files.
SPR_bootsamsung.qmg
SPR_bootsamsungloop.qmg
SPR_shutdown.qmg
(I renamed my originals just to be safe.)
Alternately, if you do not want to download; you can make a copy of, and rename the bootsamsung.qmg bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg that are already located in your system/media folder.
Reboot your phone and you should no longer see the sprint animations.

You probably want to put something in the OP to make sure you check and change permissions when needed. I had to change mine.

Works perfect thanks!
Do this include the sound also?
I love the 90s. Good times.
I don't think so, I still had the sound when I followed the instructions
I made this into a flashable zip for those that want it.

The title could be confusing. This does not restore the original "Sprint" boot animation. It installs the original "Samsung" boot animation. The one used on the international S4.

Bootanimation Change

Interesting thing happened to me today... I changed my bootanimation and soft bricked my phone :crying: So I am currently in the process of restoring 4.2.2 with LGF tool, no harm no foul... However, I was wondering if anyone else ever had this problem? I didn't have TWRP installed, otherwise I could have reverted to the stock animation and see if that would cure it. Did I have to reflash? Or is there some other trick to get past the boot animation?
I havent had any issue with the boot animation I've flashed a couple new ones and ive copy n pasted one or two to system/media folder and I've used romtoolbox pro to change it. No issues.
