I am having a similar problem. I installed Opera. when i go to YouTube using IE dont have a problem watching video TCPMP launchs and everything is great... but when i go to youtube using Opera i am rerouted to myoutube.com, when i click on the video, Streaming Media launchs and it just hangs there. Is there a reason why it doesnt work with opera. Thanks, and again sorry because i am pretty new at this. I am also running Dutty's WM6.1 and i have assossiated TCPMP with the 3gp files. any idea why Streaming Media is still launching. I have installed the files above and am still having the same problem.
thanks
Problem in streaming media on you tube
hi every1. can any1 sort out my problem. actualy i have streaming media software in my XDA and it was working alrite but after installing real player it stopped working with youtube.com. i have even uninstalled real player and deleted its aplication backup but still having problem. when i click any video on youtube.com it doesnt respond a bit. i will wait for any expert response. thanx
Youtube = TCPMP + FlashVideoBundle
Mobile Youtube = Streaming Media (Which is Real Player with HTC's wrapper)
For Mobile Youtube via HTCSMP you need to change your connection settings in the app. to MediaNet for AT&T or whatever you browse the net with.
Thanks GSLEON3,
However here is where i stand. If i go to Youtube.com everything is fine. however when i got to m,youtube.com and go to launch a clip. all that happens is that streaming Media Launches and hangs. This happens wheather i am connect via wifi or 3G.
If i go to Streaming Media ->menu->options->network
No matter how many times i change it to media net, everytime i go back, it says "The Internet"
Under Settings->Connections->Manage existing connections->Proxy Settings
The Box that says "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" is NOT checked.
Under Settings->Connections->advanced->Select Network, both say Media Net
Under Settings->HSDPA, The Turn on HSDPA box is NOT checked.(not really sure what that is for)
I have no idea why i cant get the m.youtube.com vids to play ... any idea ?
Thanks

from what Ive read, youtube videos wont play with Opera Mini because that browser doesn't support flash videos as yet.
its is not opera mini, its mobile, and the problem also happens in IE. Flash is installed and works well
I think what i need is a copy of Streaming Media 3, I think reinstalling it will fix my problem. However i need something other that the IMAX 5?
m.youtube.com will not work with Dutty's WM6.1 rom
Hello,
I agree with my fellow posters, their is a huge difference between the full youtube website and the mobile youtube website. I think something is wrong with the HTC streaming player in the Dutty's WM6.1. Rom.
After clicking the thumbnail i get the message, you are about to go online. And then it starts "Streaming Media" with an endless "Connecting" message.
Had someone any luck with Dutty's rom to get m.youtube.com running?
Regards Tom

same problem here. I'm using Streaming Media 3.00 (build 1001.711). Still looking for a solution.
Hey,
I just managed to solve my problem. I downloaded the HTC Streaming Media CAB file and installed it, overwriting the installation with the Dutty 6.1 rom. Now it works perfectly fine for me.
Ciao,

You might want to follow my articles, they're cross-posted to the General forum so you don't even need to go to another forum / page. In some of them, I've pretty thoroghly explained why this happens: the RTSP protocol doesn't work in a firewalled environment.
Solution: go for a non-RTSP-based solution like CorePlayer, the TCPMP-based plug-in and other playback solutions etc.
Read my YouTube Bible for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387986

Note that, if you are firewalled, it won't work, regardless of the ROM versuion.
Hello All
I have had pocket PC’s for years but never tried to do much with them, So I tried my new vario iii from t-mobile to play you tube video with out an success even from there mobile you tube. It struggles with the eBay web site as it will not drop down the buy or selling menus, and the video play is so slow....
I installed the TCPMP video play and it will see more video files than widows media play but not all will play. I installed the FLV plugin in the route of TCPMP dir and it still will not play the down loaded FLV files!
www.Youtube.com crashes my phone needing to reset it as it stops responding to keys
is the varo iii this bad or am i missing some updates? What do I have to do to get this phone to play videos off the web?
Thanks for any help you can give as T-Mobile don't know any thing other than how to sell you a phone..
give vtap ago, works fine on my vario
http://www.vtap.com/m.html
yeah when i go to youtube my phone freezes up and I have to close out of IE. so annoying I have never got that method to work.
I have 8925 tilt with htc's wm 6.1 and pocket core player I have real player and I have htc streaming video but streaming video won't play anything on the part where it says connect its says this rtsp://. core player gives this message error can not open url or video loader error. someone please help me thanx advance reply to this
Hi, I have the same problem and hope someone help us...
Buy The Coreplayer, Youtube is integrated in this software.
There are several solutions on the forum where you can get TCMP + IE to work with youtube, just use the almighty search.
coreplayer v1.25
@troyk
I searched everywhere to find a solution for my problem. I`ve bought coreplayer v1.25, installed newest TCMP (+FlashVideoBundle) and so on...but nothing is going properly with my orig. HTC-WM 6.1 german (Tytn II).
I dont like to flash my tilt so I try to search a solution here...
If someone like to post his preferences for network, video and so on here I wold be very thankful and happy...
I downloaded both core player from wiki with flash video bundle and both core didn't work
I've posted this elsewhere on this forum but didn't get any replies.
My problem is somewhat different.
I have a TyTN II on the 3UK network running WM6 with Streaming Media preinstalled.
I cannot stream any external content (Youtube etc...) only the content from planet three (3UK's walled internet) works when using HDSPA or GPRS connection. Any other video streaming site will result in a "can't find network"
But on WiFi I'm able to stream any external content (youtube etc).
Any help would be greatly appreiciated.
and my realplayer is not playing any video from the media net home some help please.
I heard that TCPMP has problems with Windows 6.1 devices, namely with plugins, but this was a while ago.
Is this still an issue with the 6.1 update on the Tilt?
I know that there is an alterrnate version of TCPMP and the flash plugin that works with 6.1, but does this also work on the tilt?
And what about all the other plugins?
I had to load the FlashVideoBundle from this thread - http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=1401933 - on my Tilt to get YouTube videos working, but everything else seemed to be working fine without that, only youtube had problems. (youtube swf args not found error.)
Does your tilt run Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1?
Nearly everybody who upgraded whatever 6.0 phone they had to 6.1 had problems with TCPMP and/or it's plugins.
Hi. I've upgraded my Tilt from WM6.0 to 6.1. I've installed TCPMP (specifically: TCPMP 0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-RECOMP-03). Back in the good old WM 6.0 days, when I clicked on a YouTube video within Internet Explorer, TCPMP would automatically start up and play the video. Not anymore.
Is there a trick to getting TCPMP to be aware that its services are needed?
Thanks for any help.
Have you installed the Flash Video pack for TCPMP?
Thanks, Mikeapollo! That was it.
