[Q] Mango Update with microsd upgraded device - HD7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody
I've upgraded hidden microsd. Everything worked fine with WP7.
Upgrading to official WP 7.5 i've got an "incorrect memory" message.
After 2 more try to restart my hd7 it freezed on htc green screen.
I've reset the device to factory setting.
This operation seemed to work, it restart with mango installed but phone is totally instable : it freezes, restart often (once again gave incorrect memory card message)
have you got solution to this problem ?
SO version is 7.10.7720.68
Firmware 2250.21.40502.401
Replacing microsd with original one could solve the problem ?
Is possible to flash the phone with a rom thet solve the problem maintaining memory expansion ?
Thanks
Mike

You have a Thread about upgrade microsd in HD7 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883582
try to see the compatible list

I read that thread to upgrade my microsd and everything worked fine until today mango upgrade.
Now i have tried to reinstall original microsd : it looks like there are no more problems.
Is there a solution that permits using mango and microsd upgrade ?
Thanks
Mike

Help Required -URGENTLY

I just upgraded my phone to 32GB.
All was fine, I followed the instructions, replaced the card fine, got it to boot and synced up to zune. I left it while it synced.
Suddenly the phone decided to restart itself while connected to zune, when it restarted it reported that it only had 12.5mb memory.
I've replaced the card back and put in the original 16gb card and it STILL reports that it has 12mb memory, it doensn't seem to detect the card anymore.
Any Suggestions?

Hi
I've done a hard reset many times with no luck
Maybe re-format the card, it seems that wp7 puts a small partition on the card, theres some chat about it in the HD2 forum, I flashed wp7 to my hd2 the other day and when i wanted to go back to 6.5 i had to reformat my card to show the true capacity.
Try this tool from panasonic, it works really well....http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html
just ignor the capacity before format and when its finished it will show the original 16/32gb then try the upgrade you were doing before.
hope this works for you.

Hello,
To resolve your problem you have to downgrade your WP7 to nodo using gold card.
Cheers.
This was happening to me using DeepShining 7.6 --- I simply did a hard reset and it worked without anymore problems..

is it not possible to do restore with another method?
Mine did that too after I sent it in because of a broken power button, I think they screwed something up while trying to fix it.

[Q] Hard Reset all the time

Hello guys,
now i have got a hd7 windows phone flashed with a custom ROM. (deep shining i think ...)
After the official mango update i had the first reset. The HTC-screen freezed and i couldnt do anything, so i reset my device. After that i installed a custom rom on my phone. Until now there are 8 months since the first reset and 5 hard resets. The resets werent made by me, the phone resets himself. So can you help me please ?? What can i do to stop this ?
I've already asked this in a german forum and they answered that the issue is my mini sd card ! So i tryed to change it today. I've did it but the phone didnt recongnized my new card. So i put the old card back. I looked at my new card and it was only a simple MINI SD CARD 2GB. The card of the device is MINI SD CARD HC 16GB. So my second question is, does only a mini sd HC card fit into the HD7 ?

Mango update

Hi guys,
Just bought a HD7 and I am really enjoying it.
Apart from the random restarts memory card read errors...
Since Mango update the phone randomly restarts without warning and on some restarts says the memory card error, as you can imagine, this is VERY annoying!
What have you done to correct the issue? What possible causes are there and is there any one that can give me an answer?
Thank you in advance!

[Q] HD7 Button response Problems - Hardware issue?

Hello everyone,
I have the following Problems: After a while of use, my HD7 stops responding to button usage. The Screen stays operational and it won't lock or turn off by itself anymore, what drains the battery pretty fast. Basically, the OS seems to be working, but some Programs wont open or close. All Buttons are affected - Power, Volume, und Back/Windows/Search.
As I expected it to be an OS malfunction, I flashed SLSPL, downgraded the bootloader to 1.69.xx, Rspl/Hspled and installed an old Stock rom, afterwards flashed Dynamics 2.0 ROM, but the problem is persistent. Before I used to have the HTC Europe 7.8 Stock Rom.
Does this look familiar to anyone? Problem occurs with and without SIM. Could it be a SDcard malfunction?
Current setup is:
OS: 7.10.8862.144
Firmware: 2250.21.51201.401
Hardware rev. nr. 0002
Radio software ver. 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
radio hardware ver A.102.0.D4
bootloader 3.1.2250.0(119314)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Solved
To all who might have similar problems: replacing the microSD solved it. For the procedure, I followed along Wolfman017's great step-by-step tutorial in this thread. as my HD7 had no warranty anymore, sending it in was no option.

Same problem here, but I replaced the microSD card with a new one and after a while the new card is also broken
Can this be caused by a new software release? Did you downgrade first and then replace the SD card ?
Thanx in advance,
Dirk-Jan
Yes,
unfortunatly my posting was a little early. After a few days the problems reoccured. Before I changed the SD-Card, I downgraded RSPL/HSPL via HTC Europe SLSPL method, flashed an BL 1.69 StockRom and then flashed the Custom Rom. After installing the new card and still having the problems, I downgraded again and tried the original stock Rom (Windows Phone 7.0), and even here the issue was persistent. It didnt went away with upgrading via zune, but on one update zune reported an update error, The phone finished the update nevertheless
and seemed to work.
On the first time, the problem came up after the stock upgrade to 7.8, so I think it might be a broken phone
Please let me know if you manage to find a solution!
Best regards
Hi, thats to bad, don't have a solution yet. Seems we're not the only one with this problem, found a thread on answers.microsoft.com about this butr no solution there.
I don't have much experience with installing custom roms, etc. Can you share more details about what you did exactly to downgrade, or perhaps a website with some howto's about the steps you took?
Regards,
Dirk-Jan
Hey Dirk,
to Flash custom Roms, you first have to downgrade the bootloader of your phone. As I presume you are placed in Europe you can use the SLSPL method, See this thread for information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904 Many thanks to ansar for the great work.
2nd step is to install RSPL/HSPL to "open" the phone to custom Roms. See this thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
Afterwards, you can flash any custom rom you find in the HD7 Windows Phone 7 Development- section of the board. There are great step-by-step tutorials there. Please read carefully through the threads to not make any mistakes. Worked great for me =)
Best regards,
Jan
Update - Still no solution
As there still seems to be no solution for this problem, I have bought another used HD7 und customized it with the gold card method. I tested the SD Card of the phone and it seems to be broken, not even several recovery tools advised here on xdadev were able to even read it. Unfortunatly, replacing the SD Card did not help, so maybe its just a bricked phone
