Hi,
I have looked around for answers for days for what I am trying to do, I currently live in the UK and I have an S G Sprint Tab 7", The trouble is the language is in US and it keeps trying to use network, everything is American and the updates do not work.
I have rooted the tab and removed all of the sprint software, and bootup shutdown animations etc.. but I still can't get it right.
What I was hoping to do was download a UK language pack and install this but I cannot find one anywhere.
My second option is to wipe the tab and install software off a standard WIFI model, if this is possible?
Does any body know if its possible to do this and where to get the files to do so?
Thanks for your help

Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy s 2 on T-mobile here in the UK. Obvisously it came with T-mobile's version of Android 2.3.3 . When the phone starts up or shuts down, it displays T-mobile's logo wallpaper.
The phones has an option to search for updates, but it can never connect to the server.
It does not have the option to sign into the Samsung account, it does not exist on my handset, only Google account and the usual facebook and others options.
As a result of this I don't have the option to use Samsung's mobile tracker. For those unsure google samsungdive.
I don't need to use other networks on my handset, just T-mobile. T-mobile have removed the tracking option so this is why I want to put Samsung's software on my phone.
My question or what I want to do is this:
1)Remove the current T-mobile Android software from my phone and install Samsung's Android firmware.
2)Have the option of signing into Samsung's account from my phone and be able to use Samsung's tracker.
3)Be able to update to the latest updates as and when available.
Please advise me as to what I have to do or what my best options are.
Thanks very much!
I would flash the stock version of JVR and use a custom kernel like semaphore etc
Sent using geek power
My friend can you tell which modem u r using on t mobile. Or baseband
Baseband version:
I9100BOKG1
I Spoke to Samsung about this and they said because I got the phone through my contract with T-Mobile, T-Mobile have played around with the software and some features are not present compared with buying the phone sim free with the Original Samsung software.
They said if I remove current software and put Generic Samsung software I will void warranty on the phone.
What do you think about this?
Thanks
I'd flash anyway mate, worse case scenario is if you get a fault, you can reset to factory using ODIN. Plus, I have a t-mobile s1 and it was flashed day of purchase from t-mobile, and even if you ring them, they aint really too bothered if its been flashed. Example, I flashed my brothers which played up, he rang t-mobile told them it was flashed they said well done, and would replace it if I couldnt sort it.....which I did.
In a nutshell....flash and dont look back!! Its really quite hard to'kill' an android phone!!
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000
Purchased in September from GCI (3rd tier carrier in Alaska, USA), not locked, running android 2.3.3 ....build who knows, even the provider can't tell me what their phones come with and I lost the piece of paper I wrote it on.
I'm trying to locate the stock firmware for this device. I have tried the stock firmware listed here:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
and here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 (only has NA I9000M for Canada which does not boot on this phone)
and a few other forums as well.
I'm 90% certain it was a July firmware release. Unfortunately, the ones I've tried have not been the "correct" one, one was Australia, one was International, and so on. I've currently flashed it to XWJVK, which at makes Kies happy regionally speaking.
I updated the firmware due to wireless network & app crashing issues. It fixed my wireless problems (yay XDA helping when samsung tells me to sod off) unfortunately, doing so made me lose my carrier's data network access, cellular was fine. Not really a big deal, I almost never use it, except for work, and of course I'm leaving on a work trip soon. Oh the irony. I thought I would be able to do a factory reset if there were problems, however this was not the case.
So, I'm trying to get my carrier's data network back by finding the original stock rom, which after three days of sifting through various android sites on the interwebs, I seem unable to locate.
If anyone can provide advice/assistance, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Im sure you can find it here.

T-mobile tab is the same as the GT-P1000 only uses a diferent modem, you can use all the roms for GT-P1000 just need to flash the t-mobile modem.
i have rooted my P1000N stock (2.2) using z4root.
You can upgrade to Gingrebread, Honeycomb RC1, and Android 4.0 (ICS) alpha3
You can find custom firmwares in developers section,
If I may add a little more.
1. If you are are going to change your phone's initial software to enable voice, please be advise that once voice is enabled, you will only be able to get edge internet, similar to people with ios running simple mobile.
2. If you are needing voice enabled, please do not flash the tmobile modem as you will only be limited to data coverage only. You may download any of the fine modems that DarkPal put together in the Developement thread that is stickied and see which one works best for u.
3. I would recomment you start off with the overcome rom as it is samsung base. They have a pretty good tutorial at their website (if its up) and once you get comfortable flashing your tab, then you can move on to other roms and experiment.
Remember, tmobile modem will restrict you to high speed data, while other non tmobile modems like the jpz will give you voice calls, but restrict your data to edge, hope this helps.
My wife sat her old Galaxy phone down at a big event we went to... it's gone. So I was looking for a new phone and found an S4 Active from AT&T for really cheap. I talked to T-Mobile and they assured me we would be able to get everything working easily.
So I bought it. Got it unlocked through AT&T. Plugged in my wifes new sim and boom - we're up and running. I changed the APN stuff - the network is T-Mobile and all settings work. She gets talk, text, text pictures, etc. I can get on the internet etc. Problem is we're in a place that has weak LTE and very good Edge. My Note 3 from T-Mobile gets perfect 4G and switches between that and a couple bars of LTE from time to time.
This phone gets weak LTE but then switches to Edge to get a better connection.
Yes I've tried the guides to get the 4G radio working (galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-tutorials/how-to-enable-t-mobile-hspa-aws-bands-on-att-galaxy-s4-sgh-i337sgh-i337 etc etc) and I even tried following a guide in here that has me flash the modem back to MF1 or whatever it is through ODEN - that just hung on "Setup Connection" and never did anything.
Look - I know the S4 Active is beginning to get a bit old but it's still a really nice phone and it works great. It's more than my wife needs but we need it to get 4G where we're located. Is there an updated way to get this done? Root and custom ROM? New way to fix the radio? Trust me I've searched all over and haven't found it so I thought I would ask. Maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing but I need help as to how to do this now - not from posts 2 years ago.
AT&T Galaxy S4 Active SGH-I537
Android Version 4.4.2
Baseband Version I537UCUCNE3
Kernal Version 3.4.0-987011
Anything else you would need to know to help out? I'm at the point where my good deal just isn't a good deal anymore and I'm starting to look at T-Mobile phones instead of unlocked ones. Frustrated. =-(
Hi,
I've just bought a 'renewed' Galaxy S10 off Amazon to use in New Zealand and all seems well but there is some strange stuff that I'm hoping you can help with.
The phone works on my network but on a restart something called OMADM tries to activate its self on the network and fails. Does anyone know what this is? It seems like it's related to US carriers.
1) Can I flash a new ROM /Firmware to get rid of this?
2) If not can I manually remove it?
I've check a couple of threads but still a bit confused.
Any help appreciated,
Cheers!

How to remove Sprint OMADM notification?
