I have a few co-workers who ahve the droid and have had their 2.2 update but apparently it does not come with flash player for the browser.
is it possible to just download the apk and install it on their stock devices (ie: not rooted, etc)
I put this file on my rooted 2.2 droid X and flash works
Adobe_Flash_Player_10.1_10.1.92.8.apk
Will I be able to just give them this apk and have them up and running flash? If not, which apk do they need?
It should be in the Market for them if they have FroYo installed, but if they dont, then just download off of the interweb and install.
Hi Guys, after just getting my phone back from repairs. They loaded the new Bell Froyo ROM. Sorry I don't remember the exact firmware (jk4 I think). After playing around with it I decided to flash another Froyo Firmware, Now I do not have the CarHome and DeskHome. I know there are some you can download for free in the market but I really liked the layout of those stock ones. Does anyone know where I can download those again?
Can you enter download mode on Mango beta? will you be able to restore an old leaked rom with the WP7 downloader method we already use?
Thanks
gonna answare this myself: yes you can, just reverted back to kc1 without any problem... no need for a backup then!
yeah you can.
Asked this myself a few days ago and.. finally found the answer - Thanks!
Remeber that with any update done trough Zune you're not actually overwritting firmware you just use ImageUpdate to use updated system packages stored in the NAND flash instead of the ones included in the firmware.
Hey,
I want to revert back to stock 2.3.4 but I want to keep root and clockwork etc, so anyone know where I can get a stock 2.3.4 flashable zip?
Right now I am on CM7 latest
Thanks
i found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061648
if i download this rom from the thread:
GRJ22 OTA (stock vanilla - odexed, unrooted):
http://www.mediafire.com/?shsmauak48b8hc4
MD5: 3B2B7B0BAAAA803365A573FC3864A150
is that the original stock 2.3.4?
anyone?........
The mediafire one is linked to a stock 2.3.4 that is deodexed that is still unrooted. If you want to read up on what deodexed means, check out this article.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/
You will still need to root this ROM.
In the thread, the top link is "stock" 2.3.4 but rooted and deodexed (along with the other things he mentions in the thread).
Basically, you have two options. Use PASSIMG to get your phone back to stock and update to 2.3.4. Then, if your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash a custom recovery and flash one of the many su.zip files out there that give you root access. This will truely be a rooted stock 2.3.4 install. If you want the easier route, use the link in the thread you referenced above.
I built one about a month ago for someone who wanted the same thing, but I'm struggling to find it...
EDIT: I've just thrown something together, if you still need it? Basically, I removed the stock recovery from the GRI40 and GRJ22 updates, so that you can flash them without losing recovery. You can then flash the su zip, and you will be updated, with root...
Tested, and it works...
The OTAs were just updates (about 5mb) from previous versions so there is not stock full system zip. You would probably need to flash stock 2.3.3 then you can flash the 2.3.4 update. Now there is also a 2.3.6 update that is flashed from 2.3.4.

Danger-rat,
please can you upload it.
I currently have 2.3.3 rooted somehow :S and it keeps FC sometimes and the default music app cant read my songs... but rootexplorer can. So i want to get a clean rom see if it all works. and ofc keep recovery.
As noted in the thread, this is something I've just thrown together. It's basically the full GRI40 update, and the GRJ22 update patch with the stock recovery and recovery restore scripts removed from both- this means your custom recovery will not be over written.
Backup your apps (Titanium, or whatever)
Boot into recovery.
Make a backup of your current ROM
Do a full wipe
Flash GRI40
Flash GRJ22
Flash the su zip
Reboot
Restore your apps...

/edit2 i think i screwed it up, i was trying another stock rom i found and it seems to have done something, so i cant run my apps and do an app back up, which is no biggie from what i remember it just takes AGES to re-download. and set up settings etc. also no rom back up atm
but as long as i get back i hope its ok
YES thanks Danger-Rat
Brilliant help, absolutely no errors. just gotta restore apps and settings now.
Thanks again
hi everyone, I use to look for information here and now, since I haven't found an answer was time for asking
I´ve installed a JVK version of gingerbread (using Odin), I wanted do have a recently version and I mounted a JVB version with a touchwiz updated.. after that I wanted to have a rom from romkitchen so for that I had to update the "Wordclock mod" to a version that "accepts" zip files to install.. and the problem is that the files that I found were CF-Root-XW_XEE_JVB-v3.1-CWM3RFS for the jvb version and CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVP-v3.7-CWM3RFS for the jvk (which being a jvp works with the jvb) (in this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 ) which basically have removed the boot sounds.. so what I wanted to do is to reenable boot sounds. So, with this I´ve got some questions
Is it possible to update the WCM from the gingerbread version from an app or how can I update it directly from the gingerbread rom so I will have the bootsounds and also update the WCM so I can install any zip file.
(Actually I use this gingerbread version as a basis to a have a clean rom to install my "modem.bin" file and then I update the WCM so I can Install the zip rom that I would like to have )
(actually the question would be: how can I update WCM to a version that allows me to install zip files without disabling bootsounds
Or, simply, how can I reenable bootsounds in a JVS version of gingerbread 2.3.5)
thank you for your help
