i have cm7.
i 1 month my camera went off ... my flash used to blink when i used to make call ....
then in prvs week my power button went off.
i gave to repair at my HTC Costumer service he said 8k indian rs/- coz there was problem wid strip and mother board :/
i dun think its worth repairing then i tried to sum shop where they repair phones ... he is saying my phone is dead it cant b repaired ^_^
any1 had same problem

Hey I tried to unlock my HTC touch diamond with an unlocking software. In the process the cell phone suddenly turned off and now it is not working at all. Not turning on .. even not charging up the battery. In short look like no sign of life in the mobile phone. I tried every thing nothing work. I do have the warranty but dont have the reciept.
What can i do with this situation . any ideas how can i atleast make the phone start??? you exeriences and ideas??

sooo, you used the unlocker from ppcgeeks, which is fr cdma phones (and I'm not sure it its unlocking anything at all). Anyway - the only way to fix it is to send it to the service centre. If the phone is still on guarantee, there's big chance, that they will not be able to boot it, and replace the mainboard.

what if i dont have the recipt? no proof of purchase... i bought it from a friend and he lost the recipt for it . I know the fone has atleast 4 months warranty left .. but what else i should do.. again thanks for the reply ..

Exact same thing happened to me about 6 weeks after I bought my Diamond. Cost me $130 on the insurance claim to get a new one.
Obviously I haven't tried it a second time....
why u paid 130$ if you had insurance???
It was an insurance claim, not a warranty claim, and therefore I'm responsible for part of the replacement cost....sort of like the deductible for your medical or car insurance.

As you can see in the video you linked in your post, or in the link I posted in the "bootloader unlock warning" thread, it requires ...
a) ... specialized hardware (RIFF Box + JTAG Interface or Qualcomm Resurrection Cable)
b) ... a solid knowledge about getting the hardware and related software to good use
In theory any trained service monkey should be able to do the trick, given the repair shop has the hardware to accomplish the job. A authorized SE service center has the required hardware, and trained technicians, for sure.
Anyhow ... to point the finger at the "unlock warning" thread ... now, once you get your phone back READ THE MANUFACTURING CODE of your phone CLOSELY and do NOT attempt to unlock the bootloader again if the phone is within the critical range.
oh..so most repairman knows how to repair a bricked phone yes ? =) ..but still if i am right it will not be covered by my warranty? and how much will it cost?

warranty = no because the warranty sealed has been broken
cost? ask the repairman LOL
cause i'm curious too about se center cost and repair man cost..
i think i might be able to trick the repairman saying that i was trying to update my software then this happened =) hehe

Why would you trick the repair man since it will not reduce the cost (i think)
erm..it's a retailer at a mall my dad bought the phone from...and if the retailer knows my phone is still under warranty wont the repair be free?

My Galaxy mini is completely bricked after flashing rom on it.
The problems are as follows.
1 ..No Boot
2.No Downloading mode. tried all button combination and usb jig also still no signs ..
3.Tried flashing via all boxes including Riff, z3x but not able to flash sometime connects to this boxes and sometimes not ..cannot complete flashing process.
4. Tried everything listed on this forum but still no use ... Showed it to service center of samsung they said motherboard gone . New motherboard price is approx 75% of phones price that to without warranty..
5. Many mobile repair shops in our location tried it still no use.
Anyone here on xda can help me to come out of this problem .Or atleast give me some idea where to get galaxy mini motherboard at cheap ...
Plsss guys help me out i really luv my galaxy mini..

Well with respect to indian currency, the motherboard is around 3k.
But i would advice you to take it to customer sare service.
They can handle this with more ease, and the price may be around the same as the latter.

You are right man ..but the thing is they said i wont get any waranty for replaced motherboard .. so i guess its of no use..
Well that may cost you some more bucks.
But hey atleast its official and original work unlike job done in black mart.

Please let me know if you have any idea about ..where else i can get galaxy mini motherboard other them their service center's..
Well if you ask so.
Try the underground mobile shop , ask them for motherboard replacement.
I got my old cell phone fixed the same way in chandigarh sector 22-c
But still i would recommend go for simple and full proof service center repairs.
It might be the right time to pay a visit to one of them.

Go to Customer care, act like a fool, tell them anything like u were upgrading from froyo to gb via kies and suddenly power went off and now device isn't booting at all
They will replace motherboard free of cost (if its in warrenty)

Only motherboard can help. JIG is working, but for total brick it won't work.

This has happened with me too. Got my mini hard bricked and it was not under warranty. They will charge 5k for replacing the motherboard. I suggest you get yourself a new device instead of getting this repaired for 5000

My frnd told me earlier, what he did was, he went to his frnd's shop and made a new fake bill with date for under warrenty
Now go to cc with fake bill, in countries like india this will work but this will work only if u havent gone to care before cuz once u go there, they have saved copy for bill for first time
Try this only if u dont have any other option left instead of buying a new device

I had a really dumb issue with my z , the headphone flap keeps popping out or it wont stay closed... it actually comes and goes ,this problem(i did a research and lota people have the same issue,n the Sony guys as usual have no clue). So i thought of getting the flap replaced coz i bought it just 2 months back, but when i got to the service center, they said they cant repair it n that my fone will be replaced. So
My question is:
1) Will they replace me with a new fone,(Have anyone got their fone replaced?, some info would be great)
2) If the replace my fone with an old and serviced fone how can i know or find out immediately ( like some inside setting to see if it was formatted or repaired recently)
It would be a great hept to me and anyone out there like me searching for an anserwr to this question if someone shared thier expertise n had an experience with the issue above mentioned.

Yes,if they say they will replace it with i new fone,i got my replaced due to wifi issue and they gave me a brand new fone in a small white box nd there were no scratches on the fone with the screen protector(the one which are already put on the fone not the one which they give in box).but they took 10 days for replacement that was annoying.
If you are not satisfied with the fone dont accept it.use it for sometime at the centre. if you found any issue dont accept and ask for another replacement.
