[MOD]Droid Bionic Mod for init.d(For Stock) - Motorola Droid Bionic

This Mod will allow for init.d scripts to run, including the CWM recovery script from PowerBoost.
Currently integrated in DroidTh3ory's [R3]BLURR3D V1.7 PBX rom, but I updated my zip to work with any Rom including Stock Rooted .
Requirements:
You must be rooted and CWM through Rom manager installed.
PLEASE UNINSTALL bionic bootsrapper (it will not allow you to activate boot into CWR on every boot script)
Install Directions:
I updated the unthrottle script to run the mods in the right spot, I will update it further but it does work. Unzip onto you SDCARD not sdcard-ext
Next flash stock_initMod.zip through CWM recovery and then run all scripts that you want from powerboost including the CWM on every boot.
Last open menu.sh with script manager as root, and follow directions on screen. The selections will have DroidTh3ory's rom listed but it will work on any rom as long as you unzip this into /sdcard/.
Credit:
Thanks to navendrob, I edited his X2 version of the mod to get this one working.
DroidTh3ory for using it in his current roms which are really smooth.
Most init.d scripts will work by copying and pasting into /system/etc/init.d/ folder, but I can only get the CWR reboot tweak to work by using the script from unthrottle something due to permissions I think.

Ccan you please explain whathecript does,in layman's terms.
Thanks

I think voltage or overclocking using android terminal but I could be wrong.

Well it may not be laymans term, but it adds a couple of files that motorola left out. Probably on purpose. One file calls busybox if you have it installed in the default location, and the other allows the preinstall script to run. The reason Cwm recovery would not boot up everytime is because the file /data/.recovery_mode is automatically created and deleted upon booting via bootstrap. If you flash this you will be able to run the init.d script for cwm recovery which will add the .recovery file back after rebooting. Its hard to explain but just flash it and run the powerboost script and you will see the difference even on the other init.d mods.

Are the updated scripts in the unthrottled folder or a new location because I ran the scripts again from the unthrottled folder and most scripts/mods don't seem to be working.

FYI... Everything has now been streamlined in a special version of Powerboost being fully incorporated into 1.6. Nothing is required of the user other than selecting your mod.

I flashed this and installed the script cwm on every boot, it worked on a couple power off/on. I then had it go into battery mode on accident while powering off and on and leaving it plugged into power and it wont boot into cwm anymore. Going to try and flash and install again.
Doh just read theories post, guess it doesn't matter now....

didn't get the error from powerboost after I flashed this, but still not booting CWM we will get there eventually
EDIT: I actually had to copy the unthrottle folder into the sdcard/ directory because that's where powerboost was looking for it...before that, I would just get an error that the files didn't exist

I thought that was already understood. Im glad to hear droidth3ory got it figured out. My way works just as well im sure. I use a reboot method i.e. quickboot or similar and do not turn power on off manually so i did not test that way.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. My method works as well incase something goes awry. I did notice a usb connection to pc lag that I only experienced in1.5. Has anyone else experienced this or maybe my device is getting slower lol. This started on a fresh install of 1.5 without even using powerboost by the way.

Stock Bionic Rom?
Will this work on stock bionic rom? I have already run an enable init.d script and it created the init.d folder and settings are sticking if I do a "Hot Reboot" but not if I do a full reboot. This issue has been driving me crazy, since I had it working on the DX but not now.
If this will work on stock, I would be happier than a dog with 2 peters!

is this supposed to dowload as attachment.php?? or is my computer bugging right now?? lol

I looked throught the zip. It contains some files that the D3 doesnt have (or are in a different location). So some of the changes will probably do nothing.

Did you do anything with the sysctl.conf and init.d?
Sorry for the delays... yes, as stated above, the zip files will not flash to the D3 (even though they do flash to the Moto Atrix??).
But you can definitely rip out files push them with Root Explorer or ADB commands. I haven't had time to mess with that but I may jump on it later today. Glad someone else tried and showed positive signs. That is encouraging.
I applied manually.
Don't notice any difference, really. But it may respond better to my finger. I'll have to run it for a few days.

I snatched the files from the latest SteelDroid to enable init.d. However I also used the scripts from that rom as well as they include alot the same tweaks.
I discovered that the sysctl.conf tweaks have no affect. We dont seem to have access to those adjustments. Perhaps because of our stock kernel?
for you, if you have a stock kernel to enable init.d .....

Black screen of death and nandroid backup hangs

Hi,
Currently I am using Criskelo's ICS V11.2 LRK with speedmod kernel just flashed 3 days ago.But in these 3 days,i had 2 screen of deaths.I tested by calling my own number and the phone is still on,but black screen. So i had to pull out battery and reinsert them and reboot. The SOD happened randomly.
So I would like to change kernel to NoteCore and see if it helps with the SOD.But I was doing a nandroid backup first in case but it always hangs halfway.Tried twice, one to internal SD,the other to external SD,but it will hang after a while.
So now I am afraid of doing anything else and would like to ask how am i going to go forward.Initially i am thinking of either flashing kernel zip in CWM or in aroma installer but i am afraid it might hang like the backup process. As this is my first time using aroma installer apart from flashing the ROM, can i ask if aroma installer has the likelihood of hanging just like my CWM hung?
Thanks!

[Q] Possibly Bricked Stock ROM??

Hey all,
Got sort of an odd problem. I recently upgraded my Droid 4 with the Jelly Bean OTA update, and it was running great. But today, I ran across 1% Battery Mod for JB users (located at the link below), and thought I'd try it. But, I think I misread it. Looks like it's for a "Leaked" OTA, which I'm guessing is different from the official one...whoops
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2132420
Stupid me, I flashed it over the stock ROM using Safestrap 3.11, and got a boot animation loop (constant red Droid Eye - no boot). Well, I did make a backup of the stock ROM before I flashed it, and figured I could just restore it. But, when I did, it still wouldn't boot. Just a blank black screen...not good
I'm guessing Safestrap isn't meant to be used like that. But anyway, I actually tried restoring the same backup that I made of the Stock ROM to a ROM Slot, and wouldn't you know it, it worked. It booted up fine and I can use it. I'm glad I'm not screwed in that regard, but anyway I was wondering if there's a way I can fix the Stock ROM slot. I'm not too terribly worried since I can use the ROM slot that I created, but just wanted to know.
Am I gonna have to wait for the fastboot files to come out? Thanks in advance.

Wow, I didn't know that the jb xml was found already, either. I guess I didn't look hard enough. Just for future reference, if I needed to flash it, how would I go about doing it? I've done it. The problem is without a recovery we can't just flash this. You could try the titanium method since it would be done right in the phone or if you're in T-Mobile you could adb push my version that I linked

Worst case just flash to stock and you're good again

thanks for your response i might take a hit at it
I have the paid version of "Android Tuner" and it has an option to deodex ROM so even with out a custom recovery I did it any way. It worked. I'm deodexed. But I don't honestly see the benefits of it. Since odexed ROMs split the apk into two parts so that only the portion needed to boot with the phone boots, an odexed ROM actually has a faster boot time and from everything I've read can actually perform faster/snappier.

Android tuner will deodex the entire Rom? Interesting man. I've got the app but I'm wondering what if any benefit I'd get outta the deodex-ing, without custom Roms, recovery, etc that might make more use of the tweak.

i just wanted to see if it was possible without a recovery. i tried the titanium backup method bit it seems that i need the pro version. but android tuner sounds interesting. i might go that route did you have any type of FC or glitches? also i heard deox is great for theming

That's the main reason to deodex it makes any mod or theme much easier to create and they say it saves space in the system partition as well

No I'm not getting any FC's or anything. Runs just as smooth as before. An I'm not sure if ANDROID TUNER has the option in the free version. The paid version is around $8. Def worth it. I use it. To gain entropy a man he read/write cache processor temp. Startup manager and has a huge selection of tweaks to. But the option is under system manager/one clicks then its the top button. (De)odex. Pretty cool app even has an xposed module.
