[Q] Using nvflash - Dell Streak 7

When doing the flash using nvflash from Restore dell streak 7 (wifi only) using nvflash at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252840
It starts out good but dies on p11.img. I am getting the below error on my DS7 (wifi), unrooted, when it gets to p11.img:
sending file: p10.img

Any advice how to get the process to finish?
Thank you!

Try to redownload p11, and then flash again. You might have gotten a bad file download.

I did unzip p11 from the master zip file I had downloaded (got the same error), I could try the download again...

Hey, it WORKED! Thank you!
I never would have thought it was a corrupted download. I was convinced I was doing it wrong. But, now I am back to Android 2.2 Froyo and am happy as can be!

Is your bootloader unlocked?
if you have working clockworkmod, then just flash a rom from clockworkmod recovery.
yes bootloader is unlocked and at the moment my phone does not go beyond "X" but it goes in bootloader mode and recovery i have tried both the recoveries.rom is not flashing
Go to www.shipped-roms.com and download the frg33 shipped rom. Extract the zip within the zip and rename it PASSIMG.zip. Place it in the root of your sdcard and boot into the boatloader.

Or download cm7 and let the fireworks begin

From past experience if you can get to recovery your phone is not bricked. You need to download a rom from off these forums. Download CM7 and flash it
Bootloader is not detecting the passimg and I have tried cm 7 and the stock to flash through recovery after flashing it gives me a weird error:
E:cant symlink /system/dumpcrash Error

Looks like your internal memory has crashed. I'll get back to you when i have more details.

Could you give us some more details? When you place the renamed PASSIMG.zip file in the root directory of your sdcard and boot into the bootloader, what happens? Does it search for a PASSIMG file? Does it give you an error? What?

Can't change system partition sizes.

Hi. Wanted to install enigma rom, but I had some problems. When wanted to flash the system using fastboot - there was an error, not enough space. Then I tried with clockwork, didn't work either.
After that I noticed that I have to change size of partitions, went to this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15901109&postcount=23 , downloaded System: 250 Data: 134, tried to flash it. But again a f**king error -writing appsbl failed (remote: unknown partition).
Googled it, but didn't found nothing useful. Would be very glad, if someone here would help.

What are you using windows or linux?
If its linux remember sudo or su before the commands and to restart you terminal check permissions and do a clean wipe ex sudo ./fastboot -w
If using windows download mur4iks custom boot loader it works better than the pre made files for windows the pre mades where more for linux.

Download Mur4iks custom bootloader and then put ur phone into fastboot.
Connect phone to pc and check that all the fastboot driver has been installed.
Then open the bootloader and select ur system partition.. (data partition will
change auto) then click wipe data and then click flash partition..
Click reboot and then go into recovery and then flash enigma !!
Hey i think you should use the bootloadertool not the predefined one's maybe that works.
http://kulkoff.com/swift/ and then download the swiftbootloaderbuilder.zip.
extract into one folder ! it needs some additional files.
make backup with clockworkmod!
put the gt540 via usb , restart into fastboot mode before starting the bootloaderbuilder!
run the bootloaderbuilder.exe as administrator if using 7 / vista.
select partition sizes, flash bootloader. wipe & reboot.
restore an backup of your rom, flashable zips work too.

Did you get in the APX mode successfully?
did google the error message, some say need to have battery inserted and some say require SD card inserted. Tried all methods, but still stuck at command 14.
Re-re-read the instruction and repeated every single step, same ending. Worst thing is, it reset everything to factory setting when it fails.
Perhaps you can try this first to get back to a clean slate

i goofed and tried to flash a recovery that i thought was for the 6 and it hasnr started since lol.
You will need to pull it from the partition it's on. Maybe you can check /fstab.shamu or something to see where it is?
Something like this is what you'd wanna do;
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 of=/sdcard/boot.img
Replacing if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 with if=<boot.img partition>
almost certain you need root to pull the boot.img i could b wrong though.

Looks like you're about right.
You can follow the path to /dev/block/platform/<msmsomethingmaybe>/by-name and it'll show you the symlinks for boot, recovery, etc. (You could use something like root explorer, or just a shell and do ls -l in the by-name directory). For example on the nexus 5 I'd see that recovery is mmcblk0p20 and boot is mmcblk0p19. Wherever boot is, that's the one you want to pull.
But it looks like you can't read any of that stuff unless you have root privileges (could do it from a recovery, if there is one), which begs the question - where da factory image at google?

When you downloaded the .tgz file and extracted it, it contained a .tar file. When you extract the .tar file you get the shamu-lrx21o folder. Within that folder you have the flash-all.bat, but you also have the image-shamu-lrx21o.zip file. Extract the contents of that zip file and try again. The system.img file is in that zip file.

I ran into this yesterday, do this:
Download the Android SDK: https://developer.android.com/sdk
Grab fastboot from the platforms-tools folder.
Flash System again
This will fix it, you just need the newest Fastboot.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm also stuck.
I keep getting the error 'cannot load system.img'. Everything else flashes fine. The bootloader and the radio. I received the OTA and that didn't install either. I was left with the android guy on his back and it said error. I'm not sure if it has to do with the encryption on the phone or not but it's frustrating. I did root with CFauto root method but my recovery is still stock. I'll try the new fastboot and see what happens.
This might not apply in this situation, but coming from several years of previous Motorola phones, sometimes I had to download and use mfastboot (Motorola's version of fastboot) for large images to flash. It's worth a shot and won't hurt to try it
Edit: here is the link. If you decide to try it, make sure to read the first section on renaming the file http://mark.cdmaforums.com/ADB.htm
