As you know, CyanogenMod and FreeXperia have been working on Xperia devices for a while now. I would like to show you our progress on the Xperia Pro which, hopefully, you will be able to use soon.
For now, check out the video:

deovferreira is defer (member of FreeXperia Team & contributor to CyanogenMod) so if he is posting a video abt CM7 on Xperia Pro it means that the device will very soon get a CM7 release...
That's great!!! I can't wait to get CM7 on here. The phone is actually pretty good at default, but I miss CM7 a lot (Old phone was a Milestone running CM7).

To avoid things like that in general, the Xperia Pro really needs it's own forum. Who can we talk to about getting that setup?

+1 I really don't understand why it takes so long to create new forums, but hey ho.
This video makes it look like that xperia pro comes loaded with cm7
SE has learned from past errors, and the stock Gingerbread firmware is great, but I used CM7 on my old X10 Mini Pro, and I like it most because it's more customizable.
When will this CM7 will be available for Xperia Pro? I'll be waiting
I also think we Xperia Pro users need a forum(or at least a subforum inside Neo), but in the while, we have to use other fourms
Not to be bothersome, but any ETA on when you'll be issuing a public release? I can'r wait for CM7 on my Pro!
Hmmm, why no releases for the Pro? This is one of the few things left keeping me from pulling the trigger on eBay...

To elaborate...they did release CM7 for the Pro....2.5 weeks ago.
I've been running it for the past week and there are some minor issues like the hardware keyboard's alt-character keys not being mapped properly, but it's still a great piece of work!
So pull that trigger on the ebay auction
I'm confused... is this a CyanogenMod port for the Pro? I was hoping for "official" support, i.e. with nightlies and so on
if you are looking for that, then no, not yet. but we put it on our phone so that we can feedback to the developers on issues and other things. this "beta" will help the version to progress to the official port. mine have been running for 3 weeks and all seem good.
Any idea why the Pro was left out? The other Xperias all seem to be listed on the Cyanogenmod page... making me nervous
Very simple. Pro is the latest device which arrived. I personally like it very much. But the Pro was the latest device we received, so we have still some issues to work out before we pull the trigger on CM-Server. Also it is still not available in many shops for example. Here in Germany it's hard to find (except online) and because of that it's not very popilar now. Release was only a few weks ago, a little patience please here
At all the device is ready on github/cyanogen, it's named iyokan.
No need to worry, let us workout the latest problems and it will be included in official CM soon.
Regards
Thanks for the reassurance
Thanks for the info Bin4ry. You guys are doing some great work!
so.. no news here for some time.. as an owner of xperia pro mk16i i'm very curious about cyanogenmod for it, so i'd like to know, if there's some development... thank you very much for info

Search the arc forum for "PRO" threads. there's two actively developed Cyanogen mods (CM7 and CM9). i've been running CM9 for a few weeks now. it's pretty solid.

Note: I am not the maintainer of this ROM.
Has anyone here installed and implemented ShadowROM 0.2.2 for every day use? I am curious as to how it performs, with stability and ease of use being two of the more important attributes. Please reply with your experience, and this post will be updated with any bugs or notable issues that appear systemic.
Download link: ROM Manager
Known Issues:
I installed it but didn't tried for daily use because (just like MIUI) the media scanner doesn't recognize pictures/music from emmc. It is based off CM6 so many of the features of that ROM are present here. The only "highlight" feature I noticed was an option to disable the bootanimation. They have a whole subforum at DroidForums so you can get more info here:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/shadowrom/
The announced they are going to split from CM6 source code, so it'll be interesting to see what stuff they come up with. Here is the thread where they make the announcement:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/shadowrom/93037-important-shadowrom-breaking-up-cm6-future.html
Cheers!
I ran this ROM for about 2 weeks strait and found very little problems with it. It has nice customization features like changing the notifications bar color and the drop down bar color along with the text color of notifications etc. It was very fast running Launcher Pro and great on battery (although I use SetCPU and underclock to save battery) running KK's AOSP BFS kernel.
Just like the above poster said tho about it not recognizing files on emmc is an obvious problem, tho it wasn't a major issue for me. Lot's of AOSP roms have problems in that area until they get fixes.
I'd say try it out, just nandroid first so you can go back if you don't like it.
So what's going on with this ROM now? Did it die or what?
The ROM Manager link for it doesn't work and the website offers no information.

Did they announce anything? Last I heard from them they were going to deviate from CM's code and do their next release from scratch with AOPS source code.

Billygalbreath (one of the dev's of SR) turned his attention full time to application development jubefore Christmas. Shortly after Christmas InsaneNemesis (the other dev) informed me of his decision to discontinue further development of ShadowRom and that he would be returning the development phones to me. The reason being he wants to enjoy his last year of high school. Can't argue with that and I wish him the best. He was very absolute about unplugging and enjoying life. Insane used to idle in the Cyanogen irc channel but I haven't seen him there in at least two weeks.

They actually did get it working using one of Koush's kernels that had the required drivers. However, I'm not sure they publicly released that version.
Honeycomb SDK preview is out

Amen to that. You know - i ahve seen other phones have semi-working rom builds created from the SDK images. I am sure its just a pip dream, but damn it would be sweet if we could be working on honeycomb now....
it's possible to extract a image, but then it would be slow as hell.
not worth the trouble porting it

I dunno.. doubt it would be slower than Froyo on an SD card.
I made a zombie out of the honeycomb preview and one of the nook kernels.
Touch input doesn't work, no hardware acceleration etc.
Well then get to work dblue.....
From the nookCOLOR
If we can get the Nook Color running gingerbread that would beyond awesome, honeycomb and I might just piss myself.

I love it (and thanks for trying exactly what i was thinking of)! Sure, it isn't fully working, but it provides a TON of hope that with some work, Honeycomb can be made to work.
Once the source code is on AOSP then getting working ROMs for other platforms should be much easier. I think one of the problems we might see is driver support since the underlying kernel for Honeycomb might be different.
It does indeed run very slow so far.
Touchscreen is working now. I'll try to get the graphics acceleration running over the weekend that should help with performance.
(and I think it's stupid that I can't post or reply in the development forum without having more than 10 posts.)

It is an effort to keep people from finding out about XDA on yahoo or something and then coming here and going into the dev section saying make it work for me...NOW!!
Which sadly happens a great deal. Seen it many times in my years around here.
I'm sure that you will appreciate it when you have less of that to deal with when you hit another few posts and can start your first thread in the dev section.
You obviously have something to contribute so just post replies to a few posts in the general section here and you will be on your way.
Looking forward to the work you have started!!
Agreed - please keep up your work, and hit up the dev section after 10 posts. I would LOVE to see work progress on honeycomb!

Hardest part is going to be resizing all the xxhdpi images down to xhdpi. Once that's done port it like normal. There's only 490 some odd porting guides here on XDA, so have fun and good luck.
For just the launcher...XDA user Rizal Lovins has some pretty bad ass XZ launchers, Sony mods, etc. I used to use his Z launcher back when I ran stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2237705
I've wanted to do the same thing with our Stock Launcher actually. I like our Stock Launcher...one of the better ones around. Circles and the Power Pane....I still find myself swiping over to it just to find an empty launcher page.

I found a system dump for the xperia sp on the xperia z thread here on xda so not to much resizing should be needed. biggest issue for me right now is time but within the next few days I should be able to get a booting version going. as far as how to do it like skeevydude said there are a ton of porting guides here on xda that can get you going in the right direction.
PS. I plan on going very close to stock xperia by using parts of a xperia sp system dump and the leaked 4.2.2 for the xperia z.

Just a heads up, I reported this thread because it should have been in another section...plus this is pretty much useless now that you've started another dev thread without a rom or dev work in it.
Congrats on the port, btw....I wanted to do something like this in the past, but a few days after I decided on doing that our bootloaders were unlocked and the rest is history.

And I'll report the other one in the morning if a rom hasn't showed up on in by then...we don't need placeholder or reserved threads...not like we only have 100 threads to use and that's it. Its one thing dropping a rom and reserving posts 2-5, not an actual thread saying its coming eventually.
Actually, I\we\everyone needs to just go thru and clean the threads up sometime....a lot of things just don't need to be here anymore. Kinda wish it was a bit easier to do house cleaning around here....at least the ability to report multiple posts in the same thread at once...we do tend to get a bit off topic around here.

this will answer all your questions
we have
- a nice miui v5
- official omni rom support (already daily usable kitkat 4.4)
- many nice stock sony ui roms
and we will get official sony jb4.3 in december....and MAYBE 4.4....sony confirmed they will test official kitkat on XT.
just look around....from my feeling i wouldnt count so much on cm...i read about many many nightlies had broken stuff (kernel etc.)
but maybe a cm user can tell you more clear details about cm

Better get a XZ, it's newer and I've seen it new for 333€...
I don't really like the stock ROMs because of the apps pre-installed, I like the stability but it has a lot of applications that I don't use. Cyanogenmod has a lot of great apps that comes with like Apollo. And I like the stock Google style, really nice, specially KitKat.
The Omnirom seems nice, gotta flash someday.
And I don't have enough budget to afford a ZX. Got a Xperia Sola, so the T is like a better version of it for me.
That's my opinion, if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

Yep I recommended this to my friend. Much newer device. Tiny bit bulkier than the T but with many new stuff like default transparent nav bars and also an interesting LED light at the bottom. And of course as mentioned, longer, better support. If you can save up a few more bucks.. the Z/ZR would be the choice.
And regarding your original question, for the T, CM from FXP isn't doing so well. Major bug reports.

No sync with FXP247
Hi,
anybody also has the problem that syncing does not work wit CM11 FXP247? I don't get my contacts, also google maps is not working, no maps are loaded...!?
I like the T : it's camera is very useful thanx to the 13 MP, and it has already lots of internal memory. Besides, they are roughly the same from the configuration.
As there's not really an update planned for "old" phones like the T, I updated it, and as of today I'm on Kitkat, a custom made Omnirom. I had already the CM 10.1.3 stable and was yesterday quite frustrated with the bad built of 10.2 RC1.. And as I have the same bug in two different CM versions, I didn't want to try out another for the moment.

I've had my G2 for a couple of weeks. It's a great device (but you already know this .)
The G2 forums are, as one would expect, quite busy so just do what you did in these forums when you first joined; watch and learn. There's a lot of good info, although, in my opinion, too many (already answered!) questions from n00bs who are too lazy to read and search for themselves.
If you find it to a be a case of 'information overload', just type your question with the keywords 'XDA' and 'G2' into our good friend Google and it should find exactly what you're looking for.
I've found Temasek's (unofficial) CM11 for G2 (in the 'Original Android Development' forum) to be an excellent ROM but there's so much new stuff nearly every day, the first thing you should do is root and install a custom recovery, then go ahead and flash away!
Remember: Google.

I don't think so. They have root and recovery for every version of android including 4.4 KK. So installing anything shouldn't be an issue. And also, Moderator SREEPRAJAY owns the phone. You can ask him for more info.
dear @SREEPRAJAY - what's your 2cents on this topic?

GO FOR G(2)OLD and you wont regret
PM me if you want any other stuff....
Who needs a g2, if you have a 2x:laugh:
For any left 2X owners, if you want the smoothest possible and most trouble free stock experience, try Djangomanouche 1.6.5 ROM. For me it was the most stable and always returned to it after experimentations.
BTW why a 2X? Given the improvement of the apps, it can run almost one at a time nowadays with only ~350MB of useful amount of RAM.
BTW2 very very tough phone, it survived a road accident which bent it in half. It was alive again with just a screen and a digitizer (70E cost).
