Hi there!
Well, yesterday i tried to unlock the bootloader of my phone (running gdx v014). I followed the steps correctly and when it comes to the cmd i pressed a key and it said:
Getting Root Rights
*Daemon not running. Starting it now*
*Daemon started succesfully*
I waited for 15min and nothing happened. I close the cmd and open it again, and the next time it said:
Getting Root Rights
And it stopped there.
So i flashed a stock rom with the flashtool and then the baseband 015, this without problems.
And when i tried again, the same happened. So i wanted to check if the phone was still rooted, so i opened the superoneclick, checked for the updates, follow the steps and something smilar happened.
It said the same as the cmd for unlocking the device (the daemon part), and then it said:
Waiting for the device
And superoneclick crashed.
Hopefully my phone is still working, but i would like to know if there is a way to solve this.
Thanks!
Goodbye!
do u have all drivers installed? maybe something standing in device manager with yellow exclamation mark?
do you have pc companion installed ? if not, install it. and also check if you have usb debugging aloved in phone menu
For me the first time it stucked at the "Waiting for device", so i rebot my phone, close the CMD and the ADB.exe that it opened and then tried again and it was sucessfull
But check if the drivers are intalled and the PC Companion recognizes your phone
Ill try installing PC Companion, to see if my phone is recognized.
Goodbye!
EDIT: Installed PC Companion, Superoneclick didnt crashed and rooted my phone... Now ill try to unlock the bootloader.

How far does your phone boot-up?
Do you still see something on your screen?
Does the LED still light up (when connected to the charger/USB)?
If you haven't killed the boot-loader you should be able to recover the device with Flashtool ... if the boot-loader is dead I think there's no easy way to resurrect it.
Of course the unsolved question is if it would need a intact kernel as well AND if custom kernels actually support "Flash mode".

Finally I did it! Big Thanks to you. I Installed the drivers and it recognized. big thanks
Well, that's exactly from where Vlackrs and I already recovered our phones after a bad flash ("stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo").
Start Flashtool and select "Check drivers".
If it turns out as "OK" on all three checks it seems you have the drivers installed already.
If not ... try to install Gordon's Gate (should be included with Flashtool and called "ggsetup.exe").
Follow the instructions I wrote up here to restore the device.
Note that I did NOT use Flashtool 0.5 as 0.5.0.0, 0.5.0.1 and 0.5.0.2 failed to recognize the device (and yes, I replaced the "E15.properties" with the files posted in the Flashtool thread in the Development section) - Flashtool 0.2.9.1 did the trick for us.

This method will install the original software on your X8!
If you have Sony PC Companion 2.1 on your PC, then uninstall it, and download and install Sony PC Companion 2.1, again! If not, then PC Companion might not recognize your phone. After installing do the following:
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.

Hey there, my phone isn't bricked...but I think I have too much data (possibly conflicting roms installed at the same time??) and I wish to reset my phone to its original status... I wish to re-install a ROM on it, but I want to start fresh again by removing the rooting programs or what have you..
Would following these steps put it all back to its original setting, also meaning that I could completely wipe the SD clean?
If so, would this mean I would have to re-root my X8? Not that it would be a problem but I would just like to know if it would be needed!
Thanks!

if you want to restore the stock rom (original androdi on xperia x8) with pc Comapnion than you dont need to root it again. But if you want to change it to custom rom and you have done full wipe i think you should root it again (rooting is done so taht you can change the busybox version of the phone and upload xrecovery if you have those you don't need to root)

Why don't you download the store Rom annd use Flashtool to flash it? Then you may be able to upgrade to latest revision with PCC.

Yeah, I lost you somewhere... If after taking out the battery, you CAN NOT enter xrecovery or CWM, then, you either can try THIS THREAD <--- go on, click on it!, or, you have to do what I had to do a couple of times, which is to restore your X8 to its original state, and to do that with Sony PC Companion, you first have to UNINSTALL your current PC Companion!!! THEN, restart your PC, and install a clean version of Sony PC Companion 2.1!
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU HAVE THE LATEST VERSION of PC Companion, YOU STILL HAVE TO UNINSTALL IT, AND INSTALL IT AGAIN!!! IF YOU DON'T, THERE's a 99% CHANCE THAT PC COMPANION WILL NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR PHONE!!! ...I don't know why, but it's probably some marketing trick, since I once used this method 3 times in a row, then the fourth time PC Companion didn't recognize my X8. This happened on both, the old PC Companion, and the current Sony version 2.1. I tested them both on purpose, to eliminate the possibility that I damaged my X8's hardware somehow, during a high speed impact collision with the bedroom wall...
Once you reinstall Sony PC Companion 2.1, go back to my first post to your problem, and follow it step-by-step.
AND yes, if you want to install custom ROM's again, then you will have to ROOT your phone again, and UNLOCK the BOOTLOADER, etc...
BUT, if it's a soft-brick, then you might be able to redeem yourself
ViVA FIDELINO!
how about kernel?

Try downloading the stock rom and a diff version of flashtool. I can't remembet which version is most recommended (try searchibg xda - i read it here). install drivers in flashtool's driver folder (gordon's gate) then try again. Almost the same thing happened to me. PCC won't recognize my phone so I couldn't install the drivers.

The best way, if u still can't get on your phone , is take it to the SE Customer care. And don't tell a word about rooting or anything. Just ask them to repair the phone, saying that one morning, the SE logo kept on popping up.

Well this is my first post here.
To be very short this is not a totally new problem. This is a combination of many problems that has made me totally helpless.
I had rooted my device using x8toolbox beta4, and installed a Gingerxperia V21 custom ROM.
After that i tried unlocking the bootloader, but flashtools continuously kept saying that my device was in MTP mode and strange enough there was no option in my phone's settings to change it.
So I went back to x8toolbox planning on installing the stock ROM back, when i saw busybox installer within.
I installed busybox 1.19.0 and then i asked x8toolbox to check the digitizer on my phone, AND THERE IT STARTED REBOOTING OVE AND OVER.
So now my phone can't connect to my pc for PCC repair or flashtools as MTP mode can't be switched off (and my phone won't turn on for the sd card to be read). And i am stuck with the Sony Ericsson Logo.
Please help me.....thanks in advance.

Thanks for your answer..... But as I said my phone is still in MTP mode and doesn't seem to snap out of it. As i plug in my phone it turns on the green light and then starts rebooting as usual. Is it my driver 's issue? or is it just the mtp mode?? flashtool also says the same thing..:crying:
U cant keep it longer.

Wait till a screen appear.
Now connect ur phone by holiding back button.

If the error getting further, Re-install Windows.

It works.
As I said try to Re-install windows.
Good Luck.
Having issue running into fastboot mode, my PC detects it as fastboot, but doesn't see my phone. Nothing i can do so i guess it's driver issues. I have BL unlocked, my pc companion says everything is up to date. Installed newest version of flashtool (and the drivers ofc) dunno what else should i try :\ Windows 7 btw..
Got the message driver installed successfully now, but still my PC wont detect device even in CMD with ADB on, i get note no device connected when i check adb devices :\ Was long time a go since i installed ADB (was total newb then) , could it be something with ADB drivers?

I somewhat doubt that, you are flashing new ones. Did you flash the wrong rom?
TBH i tried nordic, got error (flashing aborted), global-LTE same ****. Using unbranded Swedis firmware atm (all flashing done through flashtool, i had no problems at all when i flashed it 1st time). I'm not very experienced with flashing, but i guess the FWs i tired to flash should work?
Here are infos:
Phone software version: 1264-2336_9.2.A.0.295
generic-user
Customization Version: 1268-5895_R4J
Active Customization:1268-5895_R4J
S1 Boot version:1264-2289 R11A023
Not sure if i made some nubish mistake (in be4 i did ^_^) i guess i can only use this customization version? Also bootloader unlocked. I've even got note that windows installed fastboot drivers and my PC sees my phone as Sony SA0106 Adb interface driver, but only when plugged in normally, in fastboot my PC just doesn't want to detect my phone :\ Feeling so handicapped

No I doubt it, you are flashing a new firmware each time. You could try a 4.1 .ftf, but if a 4.3 doesn't work, I don't see what that is going to change. Unless of course your .ftf file is corrupt, in which case I would try another mirror. So I would definitely try downloading the .ftf again or check that the md5 sums match. Because the fact that flashtool aborts is quite puzzling unless you have done some serious damage. But I doubt that too if you flashed the correct rom. You could also try updating flashtool, you might have some incomplete packages(?)
Edit: Sorry, just realised I replied to your last post twice, I'll read this one now. xD

Righto, so if your computer detects adb drivers, then in a terminal/command prompt, type 'adb devices' and you should get the response "List of devices: SA0106'. It sounds to me that it is nothing to do with the drivers or the images you flash. You could of course try flashing a rom in through adb and fastboot. Though as this is somewhat hard to do and flashtool should definitely fix it, I think it stil could be an issue with how you are flashing the images. So just to confirm, you select flashmode on the computer and when prompted, you put your phone in 'flashmode' as opposed to 'fastboot' mode? Because they are for quite different things, so I would check that the button that you are pushing to start flashing is in fact the one appropriate for what you are trying to do. Could you also copy in the log of what is happening when the flashing fails? I hope I can help you.
Also, I don't know if this will apply to your device, but are you in MTP or MSC mode? If this is applicable, you will find out in Settings>Xperia>Connectivity>Usb connection mode. Should be in MSC, but if you can't find it, don't worry. I don't have an Xperia V, you see.
I'll try uninstalling flashtool and installing it again today after work (have the latest version currently). Well one of the roms i DLed was definetly the correct one, coz i have it installed (it's a bit buggy so i wanned to try install some other FW). Luckily we might get .299 soon but anyway, my ADB won't detect my phone in fastboot, even when i try with adb devices i just get empty space it just won't detect it.Yeah ofc i went into flashmode for flashing Not sure about MSC/MTP mode really, i guess it has something to do with mass storage? Anyway flashing is least problem for me now, untill .299 comes out at least But this **** with PC not detecting my device as fastboot is killing me :\
MTP currently, shaould i change it to MSC?
Didn't work -_- dunno woot to do, reinstalled everything ADB drivers are installed can't get into bloody fast boot
Tried flashing the same FW i have flashed on my phone, afaik nothing has changed but i always get that aborted message now and just can't flash..
Okay, yes, you should definitely be in MSC mode as opposed to MTP. And when you flash firmwares, you are attempting to get into flashmode as opposed to fastboot. So just to check, you are holding down the volume down when your phone is off when plugging into your computer to begin flashing? And also could you just copy a bit of the log from when flashing fails please?
Now the nordic version worked for me, nothing changed i had the same error after switching to MSC yesterday... I think it was my PC having to much **** running at the momment of flashing or something :\ Will see if fastboot works later on today, flashing is still going on atm but i gotta run
You do have to be in MSC mode though for flashmode. Okay I'm glad that it worked. You should be able to root that now then, and just install CWM and quickly flash a rom haha. I hope I have helped.
Hey everyone,
I'm afraid that I may have nerfed my phone and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I was trying to root my phone so that I could attempt to fix the bad microphone volume issue. I tried following some directions I found on digitalendpoint dot zendesk dot com. I'm not allowed to post the actaul url.
I got all the way to the end of step 5, but when I issued the "fastboot reboot" command my phone restarted but once it displays the Sony / Xperia logos for a few moments it reboots, and continues this cycle indefinitely. :crying:
I can get my phone back in to fastboot, and when I enter fastboot devices I see my phone listed. However, adb cannot see the device.
Is there any hope???

Do you have the correct drivers installed on the PC for your phone?
If the phone still fires up then you can fix it.
The easiest method is to install PC Companion and follow these instructions.
If you are determined to use a custom rom then you might want to read this post
I have the correct drivers. Unfortunately, I can't use PC Companion. I says that my phone has been modified (which is true) and refuses to flash the latest stock rom. However, I was able to restore my phone. I found that both Flashtool and Emma worked.
