I have a Nook Color with B&N sw v1.3 and ManualNooter 4.6.16.
I just open Market and get a "No matching content in Android Market"...
I reapply MN4.5.18, FlashPlayer_Fix, MN4.6.16 and Market fix procedure and Market still shows the same text...
Something rare: In Market app I tap "Apps" and shows some apps, I tap "Games" and shows some games, but I tap "My apps" and shows "No matching content in Android Market"
Another thing rare: I run AppBrain, tap "Manage And Sync" and shows the complete list of apps installed, including a list of update pending apps, but when i tap "Update (in Market)" get the same "No matching content in Android Market" from Market...
I think (I don't know why) Market app thinks is running in another device different to Nook Color and can't syncronize with the apps installed in the device
Anyone have a idea what's happening or how can I fix this???

[*]Market has limited visibility - This is a known tablet issue, not just a NOOKcolor one.
Start Nook Color Tools.
Select the "All Settings" button.
Unplug your NOOKcolor from computer. (If Plugged in.)
Choose "Manage Applications" from the list.
Select the "All" tab.
Scroll down to "Market" and select it.
Tap "Force stop".
Tap "Clear cache".
Tap the Back button if you have SoftKeys running, else swipe right to left on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (from the clock to the book icon).
Scroll up to "Google Services Framework" and select it.
Tap "Clear data".
Tap "OK".
Tap "Force stop".
Press the n button to return to your launcher.
Start Market.
At the "An error has occurred" message, tap "OK".
Hold your power button to turn off your NOOK Color from the menu.
Turn your NOOK Color back on and give it a moment to find your WiFi connection.
Start Market again, and the problem is resolved.

Either download LCD Density changer and reset from 161 to 160 and choose the option to save on boot. Also clear the market data and try again.
Or....
Use Titanium backup to uninstall the marker updater app, then go to manage applications/market and uninstall the update. Clear data. Try now or reboot first.

Under Settings; Apps there is no option for toggling 'Installing from Unknown Sources". This toggle is usually found on Android systems but the Nook color has it disabled.
Does anyone know how to turn option on, so it appears in the Apps section?
just open NookColor Tools it should be the first option.
In my case, the box was checked, but I still could only install from the market. After unchecking and rechecking the box, I was able to install other APKs.
NCTools
I tried the suggestion above to uncheck - check the box but that didn't work. When I uncheck the box, close NCTools abd reopen NCTools the box is still checked. Anyone with another suggestion?
I didn't close NCTools after unchecking, I just unchecked and rechecked in the same instance, then installed the APK. Sometimes it helps to power-cycle the device too. Hold down the power button until the device turns off (don't let go of the button to press the "Power Off" option on the screen). Then hold it down for a couple of seconds to power it back on again.
Hello,
I was running the B&N 1.1 on my Nook, but I couldn't get Netflix to work on it, and I read that it worked well under 1.3, so I decided to upgrade to 1.3 using a manualnooter method I found on the wiki. So that seemed to do the trick for Netflix, and I was able to reinstall most of the apps that I had before on 1.1, but I noticed that there were a few really basic apps missing. Stuff like Dolphin and Angry Birds. So there seemed to be a problem with Market updates and/or compatibility. I found this:
•Market has limited visibility - This is a known tablet issue, not just a NOOKcolor one.

As a possible fix. When I did that, however, I found that I lost LOTS of apps. There are very few currently in my market. I've read that this can be either a problem with CWN (?) stopping Market updates (Or was it CWR? - I don't even know what either one of those stand for). I've also read that changing density and/or model/manufacturer can help. That's what I'm going to try now, but I'm not sure what to change in density. In build prop, I have the following lines related to density:
#ro.sf.lcd_density=240
ro.sf.lcd_density.xdpi=169.33333
ro.sf.lcd_density.ydpi=169.33333
I've read that I should manually try to change density to 161. Are they saying to change the 2 x-y densities, or to uncomment out the one above it and change to 161? If I do that, then I suppose I have to comment out the two lines below. Is that correct?
Thanks.
Download LCD Density app and change to 160.
thanks for the reply, but I couldn't get the LCD density app ... because my market wasn't working. Figured out which lines to modify after some experimentation, but it didn't fix the market. Neither did changing man/model in build.prop, nor a few other fixes. So I downgraded to 1.2, which brought back the apps, but I got into an infinite loop on the first reboot. Now trying to decide on next step. Would like to keep stock B&N, but this is getting a little silly. Thanks for the comment, anyway.
I had tried clearing both Market and framework under 1.3, but clearing framework broke it badly, Market would not even launch at all, so I restored from backup.
Clearing Market cache does, of course help.
Changing density to 160 via Build.prop did improve readability on some screens where previously I saw white on white, but no significant effect on the Market functionality.
After factory resetting my 920V, the default app launch option, known as the "Just once" / "Always" option feature disappeared from my phone.
Instead, the pop up message saying "Default app selected" shows up again (which it was like this in Lollipop).
My ROM is up-to-date stock rom and haven't rooted nor installed any custom roms.
Does anybody have an idea what is going on with this issue?
In Settings go to Applications press 3dot menu /Default Applications/Default app selection then Choose Ask before...
So today, after loading an app, my Nokia 8 decided to reboot itself. After rebooting, a few things ceased to function.
The Home button no longer worked. The recent apps button stopped working, I can pull down the notification bar however, the settings button and extending the notification bar to show notifications no longer functioned.
On top of this, Google Play stopped functioning with regards to installing software and you will notice that you cannot access the developer options anymore (as well as all your personal settings being reset!)
Was at a complete loss at what to do... I managed to install the Nova Launcher from an apk file from there accessed the short cuts to the Setting Wizard and re-ran it.
You can re-run the setting with the same email address and as soon as it's finished, everything should be working back to normal. You may need to reset a few preferences (such as keyboards etc / glance screen etc) but at least all the buttons work again.
Step instructions:
- Download Nova Launcher. If you cannot from the google play store, search for it on Chrome and download an apk version
- Install it (you may get a pop up advising you need to let apps installed from chrome, go to settings and allow it)
- Once installed, click on Open. This should launch the Nova Launcher
- Long press anywhere on the screen
- Choose Widgets.
- Look for the Activities widget and hold and place it anywhere on the screen.
- Scroll down to Setup Wizard. There's two, one that's "Setup Wizard" and the other "SetupWizard" without a space. Choose the first. There should be an option under it called ".SetupWizardUpgradeActivity". It might be slightly different for you pending the version OS you have but that's what came up for me.
- Select that to create the widget shortcut then click to open.
- This will bring you to the setup wizard and then just click Next all the way through (turn off any preferences you may have in the past)
And voila. Back to normal afterwards!
Note: You don't need to use Nova Launcher as your default launcher. You can even uninstall it if you want.
Works!
Thank you, this totally worked!
I think Skype crashing and crashing the phone caused this for me. It's getting an uninstall as a special thank you.
Cheers,
Peter
Please help! I don't see any option for setup wizard!
4I am getting annoying notification for change settings at too of setting menu. Even if i tried to change setting as it mentions. Screenshot is attached with for clarification.
As i cannot attach screenshot xda app gives error of bad request.
if it's the "settings suggestions " you can get rid of it:
go to settings, apps, show all, dots menu top right show system, search for settings suggestions tap it, storage and cache, clear storage.
after 2-4 days it will show up again you redo the steps whenever you get too annoyed by it
just use sd maid or titanium and magisk to disable the application
