It says it's incompatible with my Xoom 3G, probably because I no longer have a data plan on it...which I think is an insanely stupid policy.
Anyone know if thats the case?
Just installed it and played with it for a minute. Pretty nice....it actually showed all the BBQ Places near my office, including one that just opened a month ago.

Weird...I have a wifi-only but it's recognized as a Verizon in the market because I'm running a Tiamat rom, so it's available to me. I don't think it's cause you don't have a data plan.

I am also running a WiFi-only Xoom running Tiamat and I was able to install it but it seems the data connection may be to a Verizon server. It was never able to load any map data or any other information. So you may just need a Verizon plan. I will keep trying but no luck so far.
I can see it in the market from my xoom, but can't download it...I get a "this item is not available on your carrier" message.
Weird. I'm on stock unrooted.
From what I've heard, it doesnt sound like im missing much with this app anyway.

This works great and definitely benefits from the 4G speeds.

I second this. Says it's incompatible with my Asus Transformer also.
Actually I don't know what just happend, after I clicked the link in op, I was send to market and it started downloading. My rom is EOS nightly build v.70, i've attached two pics, first says "this item isn't available in your country or by your carrier", 2nd pic shows the app running.
I live in Denmark without dataplan, my xoom is wifi. First time I experience this behavior, the install dialog popped up in my browser, not in market.

The apk installs, loads, but will not connect. It gets stuck on 'enabling' and shreads the battery trying.
Perhaps the servers are just not up yet since this is so new..
UPDATE: According to TMo News, T-mobile has stated that they do not support wifi calling yet... so hopefully this app not working is just a result of no server support yet..

Took a look at it and so far its either missing a VPN module or its pointing at settings that we dont have. Right now its looping trying to connect to localhost.
This does ADB install fine, but it doesnt connect if you disable it and try to re-enable it.
Side effect, it was constantly looping trying to connect the service and wasnt very happy about uninstalling when I tried, wouldnt recommend anyone install it unless they have the settings or an idea where we can grab them from
Soon as I get the OTA ill scour for the settings. Soon as I have any updates to it ill tweet/post

You can still make calls and it will say its working but if you turn it off and back on, itll eternally sit at attempting to make connection.

HTC is better about source code, maybe well get lucky and have that released quick and can patch that in *pokes JAC just in case*
It's using all of my CPU.
Interesting that it works after being pushed initially. Is there a way to freeze it in that state, without restarting it?

The app he is using is called SystemPanel. It's very useful.
I suggest removing this app in the mean time. Its a CPU hog and 50% of my battery use.

According to TMO News, the wifi calling is not supported yet as stated by T-Mobile.
“Wi-Fi Calling and tethering Wi-Fi sharing are not currently supported on the T-Mobile G2. T-Mobile knows these features are important to consumers and we’re working to deliver them to G2 users in the future. We have nothing further to announce at this time.”

Something tells me TMo is going to wait, either for the release of the MyTouch HD or they'll release it on a bunch of phones all at once as a way to boost sales before Christmas.

The reason why this app isn't working is because you need a Wifi calling plan which tmobile is rolling out soon and it requires a data plan of 19.99 or higher which pretty much everyone has because the 200 mb plan has not rolled out yet.
Has anyone gotten the wifi calling G2 OTA update yet? Can you let us know if the wifi calling now works on the G2? Thanks.

Thanks. So it looks like both now the G2 and myTouch 4G are up and running with wifi calling. They both have in common that they are running 2.2. So am I to assume that the apk app on both of them is the same and that it will also run on the Vibrant once it gets the 2.2 update?

Anyone else having problems with the NFL Mobile app? It worked for me on the last few versions of tnt lite but seems to now work on the 2.20 version its saying NFL content can only be viewed by active Verizon users. UIDST4NOATNI6VMBB??

It is not your build....i have not changed from 2.0 and mine is the same now...i thing they keep changing somthing to root out the non verizon users...this has happened to me before
mine works fine... no issues here, i woulldnt try to use your non verizon phone tether for it

Yeah it worked fine with all the other builds and I was tethered to my Verizon Droid Incredable and it wouldn't load. It worked on my wifi also. Weird...

Just tried it at home with wifi... no go. got the same UID error. I guess we will have to wait for an other version that gets around the verizon block

Same method as the O3D - superoneclick using pneuter. Gingerbreak is a no go.
Now that the Thrill is "Official", can we either add it to the Optimus 3D section title, or make a new one for it? I really would like to see one for itself, but at a minimum as part of the Optimus 3D section. I would really like to see some development start off soon.

You need to load a custom ROM built from a different carrier that doesn't have that authentication.
I used to have it on my Samsung Captivate and Samsung Infuse, now I'll just wait for the dev community to jump on this phone. I would do it myself but I don't have the time.

You need to be rooted, but you need more than that. You need an app like PDAnet or wifi tether. Even if you're rooted the stock tether function is the stock tether function. You'll have to grab wifi tether from a site like 4shared since it's blocked by ATT on the market.

I downloaded the WiFi tether version3.1 beta6. it runs on the phone but Android Tether SSID doesn't show up on my laptop. never had any problems with my Tilt2 tethering before.
Download "any cut" from the store and make a shortcut to "connectivity test" launch it and uncheck "entitlement" native ATT Wifi share will work. you have to redo this everytime you boot, hence the shortcut.
They finally updated it to work on our gtabs. V1.02 works great on mine running mountan laurel

Maybe its my VEGAn TAB GE 7.0. Some things shows up as Not Compatible and doesnt have the download. But i usually find it on the net somewhere. Cept for my Spades Free by AI Factory. No where to be found.

Device Not Compatible can usually be fixed with a build.prop change. Try setting device to olympus in build.prop

Any way you can get the apk? Its a free game. I just can't see the download cause of the 7.0.
Although it works I'm not impressed with the animations. Also is anyone else having an issue with touch response? I get sacked alot because of that

It's on sale, but not free. BTW- It dials home for a license on the first run, so even if you got the *.apk you would not be able to run it.

No. Me and cbay were talking a few posts up on the 1st page. I had ask him about Spades Free. Which is free. Wasnt talking about Madden.
Yea..Madden is a paid app that asks you for a licence thing if you download it from else where.

I wondering if the Tether Hack using the RadioComm will work on the Droid4. I tried it, but could not get the app to detect the phone.
Also I enabled Verizon's Tether, and it seems to be giving me tether at no extra cost, I'm not sure, but the message when I activated it said, as long as you have a data play $29.95 or greater. Other wise you had to upgrade planes. Well I had the unlimited data plane so I continued with the set up, then when to Verizon to check my bill, and I don't see any additional cost as of yet. So I'm curious, is version charging to use Tether ?

When I looked into it, the cost was supposed to be $24/mo for tethering. I just rooted mine and installed the Wifi Tether 3.1 beta 11 apk and it works fine so I would not chance attempting to use Verizon's app just because it seems likely that even if you don't get charged right off the bat, they might get wise and decide to charge you in the future.
Foxfi in the market works perfectly on D4. No root required

Hey guys, trying to get my , Droid 4 to tether, we rooted and downloaded wifi tether 3.1 beta 6, gave SU permissions and tried to tether but can not find the network from my phone, Wyatt settings are you using for profile, rooting fix, etc

x3, except I get the Verizon "Tethering or hotspot active" notification. I haven't gotten a warning or paywall screen and my bill hasn't changed so hopefully that isn't cause for concern.

"That behavior it does is normal. The stock app is just a modified version of the aosp built in tethering mechanism. So when AWT sets the prop that tells the system that tethering is on the stock app gets triggered. Even cm7 on thrill does this."

Yeah, the mobile hotspot pops up for everyone (but not always which is odd)... it will not affect your bill because VZW can't say anything if you're not using their app.
The settings that I'm using on 3.1 beta11 are as follows:
Device - Motorola Razr
Setup - Auto
Not using encryption and everything else is however it comes set.
Part of your problem is probably that you're using an older beta. Here's the link for the one I'm using (just add the Http:// because I haven't posted enough to link):

My wife has the Droid 4 and I love the 4g service (up to 20mbps in my area). We use the wifi tether for our xoom. So if we use the vzw stock wifi tether app we will be charged? And if I use a 3rd party app like fox fi for instance it will b free of charge? Or can we edit the radio with Radiocom like the d3? I have my d3 changed over. And would it help if we rooted the d4?

I wanted to do it this way to. I had it working for DROID3. Tried it on the DROID4, but could not detect it in Radiocom.

They are charging, i'm going to cancel, they do pro rate though. Will try to figute out Radiocom or use the app

You can say that or you could say they warned me not. The pop up warning said you can not use WiFi tethering unless you have a $29.95 data plan or greater. Well I have that plan for unlimited data. So I thought I was good.what they mean is in conjunction with there will be a $30 teather charge.
I pressed continue thinking I was good because of my data plan.

I've never seen this message, and I just logged into my account and it shows no usage for Connect/Hot Spot. It does show usage for Data, but it doesn't separate tether from phone data usage.
Sweet. The only roadblock to getting this phone was making sure I could tether
