[Q] Best Rom

What's the best rom + kernel for X8?
I tried so many roms, many I don't like, I love GDX v19 with linux kernel but I have too much battery drain.
So help me if you can
I'm judging for battery duration, smoothness and speed. I also want a rom that suports ICS layouts.
Thanks in advance

It must be, i find it strange too!
I've seen many posts saying that is the normal battery so for a test I made a factory reset and didn't instal a single thing in the phone, still battery drain
clear batery stats in cwm then charge to full then reeboot in cwm and wait till batery full its works for me

cyanogenmod 7.2 or 7.1 ?
right now, i am using ics final (cm 7.2) and the touch is working fine
i faced similar issues before though. dont know if it helps, but go to /system/etc/init.d
and there maybe some scripts and tweaks. try to remove them and see.

in both 7.1 & 7.2.
Please explain in detail as i am a newbie
i also have the same problem, esp. when i flashed a new kernel its has become more over responsive which gives me a headache
try flashing another custom rom?

i am not sure what the solution is, but u can try once.
use root explorer (or similar file manager)
go to /system/etc/init.d
now usually (if no tweaks and scripts are enabled) there will be some files.. like 00banner,01sysctl....20userinit
if there are any other files after 20userinit, delete them.
then reboot. see if its any better.

so, how do you fix the sensitivity issue? i am also having the issue which is really annoying.
To all:
I'm 99% percent sure the problems you guys face are because of the OC kernel in the CM. Can you try flashing a non-OC kernel and determine whether the results differ?
In my case with non-OC kernel the problem still occurs. The only solution is underclock processor to 735MHz. Any ideas?
edit:
connect phone to the charger solve the problem too ;X WTF? even if i overclock to 850MHz, touchscreen works perfectly!

Lolz. You must be kidding.
All : Even i am facing same issue after flashing Gingercrutz (only 2.3),ICS SUNDAY and Infinity rom. Still no solution for that.
Touchscreen Problem Fix
i had the same problem of multiple touches...b'coz of over sensitivity while using cm7.2 with oc kernel.
after flashing a non oc kernel either from ketut's or an0nym0us u can fix the prob.
thats how i fixed it.
Note:- Don't compare ur processor with other's(thinking other's can do oc without ny prob but not mine ..) b'coz every processor is different in some sense.
That's why some of them oc to even 960MHz and remain stable while some can't even take 820MHz(no wonder i belong to this category )
k so here u go :
ketut's thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296905
cm-7.1-kernel-2.6.35.7-perf-CL562111.zip:download and flash this kernel using cwm (rem to mount system b4 flashing)
an0nym0us_ thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292200
zImage-Mod.v1.0.zip : flash this using cwm (mount system b4 flashing)
Note:- v1.1 is also thr but v1.0 is more stable (can find out in thread)
Plz press thanks if I have helped
I no longer know what to do. Non-oc kernel help a liittle but not completely solve the problem. Still helps me only underclock MHz to 735.

+1,
Or MiniCM7 2.2 and Tweak it with v6 Supercharge
Flash another ROM such as cm7.2, ginger DX, ginger Jv etc and overclock with cpu tuner.....729 is optimum CPU frequency.....
Xperian using xda app
I was using the same rom some days back and it was quite laggy
that was really annoying .....
I searched for a fast rom and got a rom which is truly fast and stable
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542247
you will need alfs 08 cm7 kernel for it
i reccomend you using this kernel as it is really good
Here is the link for the kernel-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340861
Download the alfs 8 kernel for cm7 only
after your done with flashing the kernel and rom and once your mobile has booted
Go in setting and click on CyanogenMod settings ..scroll down and you will find performance click on that and go to cpu settings
Change the governer to - SMARTASSV2
Change Max frequency to - 748 MHZ (not more than that your mobile will brick or crash)
Change Min frequency to-729 MHZ
and select the option set on boot
THATS IT UR DONE
Im not responsible if your mobile bricks to death or if it explodes
LOL
Nice tut..
can you tell me why the hell your min frequency is so high???
Ginger DX???????
Before I used gingerdx ..But my battery is draining quickly..SO how can i use that?
And What is the minimum and maximum CPU frequency?

if u use stock kernel then go for PrimeHD v6.0 or GingerDX v25 ( its drains battery though but is super smooth )
try Gingerxperia, altough the developmment has been stopped
im gdx user but i must say that GX has less battery consumption

no wifi on alfs8a
hi all.. i have alfs v8a, and ginger dx v28b, working great with an average antutu score of about 1940 when overclocked to 748.
i downloaded and installed ginger dx v29 and it is great, nice look, nice feel and all.
i got good signal, feels smooth, bluetooth is good and overall its great.
however, i have the same issues with most who are using this rom.
i did not notice the auto brightness if it is working, have not confirmed it yet for myself coz i only got the rom about an hour.
and the biggest issue is that wifi is not working. i dont know what i did wrong but i think i did evrythng ryt, i already flashed the libsensorspatch and still, wifi says error when turning it on.
i will attach a screenshot from my about phone so you guys can check if i have the right kernel for this.
as i saw this post from the dev section:

GingerDX may have caused battery drain...either because of ultra brightness, WIFI and bluetooth remaining on....Try reinstalling kernel and reflash GDX...i think that should solve the battery drain...Zencefil has less lags on custom kernel...thats my opinion...
