I've been using my HTC Diamond for about 2 weeks now.
Bought it from www.plemix.com and it came unlocked , and I had no trouble at all using it and installing the HardSPL's / updating ROM (Dutty's Diamond v1.6) .
Today I ran the TomTom Navigator 7, and after a while it started to make continuous sound - the default sound when a button is pressed or touchscreen is tapped- , so I did soft reset a few times, didn't solve it, touchscreen was kinda jammed, and I took out the battery. A minute after I put it back, and it worked fine, I took some photos right after, and everything was working fine.
Then two hours later, I took out my phone from pocket to check the time, I see it's halted on the photo screen, and no response at all. So I just turned the phone off by taking out the battery, and just left it off until I came home.
Now the touchscreen is not responding to any taps or clicks, except that it seems that it still detects any sort of tap/click, because the backlight comes on from dim state when I try to tap it.
So it definitely means the touchscreen is not completely dead, but it's just not functional most part.
Hardware buttons works fine, but I'm stuck at the initial "Tap your screen to begin configuring your Windows Mobile" after hard reset. I even updated the ROM to Dutty's Diamond v1.8 just now.
Since I can't do anything and just leave it idle, it goes to [ Align Screen ] page, and still I can't press any cross, since the touchscreen is completely not responding.
Anyone had this screen death problem? Any method of solving it?
---Updated---
Just now the touchscreen worked for 30 seconds, i could actually align the screen, then it showed me the Date/Time setting page, where I could scroll the cities , but then it stopped working again. So i'm still at Date/Screen page...
--Updated--
The touchscreen works for 2 minutes after I do a soft reset / power on&off, or I should say, it works until you press some hardware key on the bottom (volume up/down buttons doesnt affect this).
After I press any of those buttons at the bottom, the touchscreen stops working.
Also, after I turn on the device, enters WM, and runs TouchFLO3D, for the entire time touchscreen works, it's constantly pressing the tasklist dropdown (upper right corner of the screen), making it constantly pop down the task list.
have you tried a hard reset?
Yes, like 3 times. Wiped everything, OS, ROM, NANDFlash.
Also updated the ROM from 1.6 to Dutty's 1.8 ROM. Everythingn works fine except for the Touchscreen.
Right now, when I turn on, the touch screen seems to be pressing all the time at the task manager part of the screen (where the [X] is), its popping up all the time the task list, then after a while, like say, 2 minutes, touchscreen again ceases to work.
Not really promising, but you could try to remove the screen-protector. Perhaps this releases any tension onto the screen.
Thanks. I've thought of that, maybe I'll try later on.
For now i'm suspecting that maybe water went in through, so I've put the phone upside down to maybe take out the water using gravity for 2 days.
It seems like it's working better now, with longer hours of normal functioning..
I'll wait and see one more night... if water is the cause of the problem, it should dry up in say 3-4 days.
It may sound strange, but pit it face down on the carpet and rub it around for a while. Its how I fixed mine. Don't ask me why it works but I had the same thing happen. I think somehow the electrical charge got dissipated from the screen and the static from the carpet recharged it.
Actually your words makes a lot of sense
My Diamond was acting completely alright today, used GPS for 2 hours and called a few people along with many weather updates.
Seems to be working fine now...
But I think what you said is pretty reasonable, since when I rubbed my dead screen , after a few rubs it started to work (2 days ago).
Thanks
yeah this had happened to me about a week ago exactly the same thing I had hardspl mine and updated radio to .05 and then a few days after I had the identical problem. However I took a shortcut and sent the phone back in and requested a replacement claiming it was defective they agreeded and sent a new one however this one already has .05 radio on it so I didn't have to hardspl it. I can't say any of these things would have worked form me as I did not try them byt symptoms are identical. my .02
Hello all,
I have strange problems while charging (wall charging only) my NOOKcolor: the touch screen is not responsive (either at all or very sluggish). On home screen I could launch programs, but not rearrange (drag), have to type very slow in order to get input, on lock screen cannot even unlock
If disconnecting the charger (from wall or cable from nook) it starts to work perfect.
My NOOKcolor is fully rooted, but the problem remains after un-root/factory rest.
Anyone else seen this behavior?
Any solution/suggestion?
Thanks,
Darky
Your problem is not unique and has been noted by many others. No fix was discussed yet though.
Mine doesn't do it. I saw on google it's one of the possible problems with a new unit. You might want to reflash to stock and exchange it.
I've noticed mine does it while playing Pocket Legends. If I have it on the charger, it will automatically tap-click on the screen when I'm using the joystick, so it starts to open all sorts of menus. So I pretty much can't play the game when charging.
So I got my wife a NC for christmas and the thing's been great. Wasplaying a bit of sudoku on it the other night while plugged in to the USB The touchscreen started gettign a bit wonky. It wouldn't respond to input and then would just randomly daisy-chain a bunch of erroneous commands together.
Now, if she's trying to read a book, when she taps to go to the next or proevious page it keeps bringing up the bottom menu (like she center tapped) or takes a few taps to finally change pages.
Something I can fix with a reset or should I just exchange it?

I had a similar issue when plugged in with the nook charger. I was using the keyboard and it became possessed. Any softkey I pressed resulted in something opening that wasn't supposed to. All I had to do was unplug the NC and everything returned to normal. It only happened once and I haven't had any problems since. You can try recalibrating your screen. If nothing works and it was my NC, I'd exchange it. Good luck!

How can I recalibrate without rooting? The wife won't let me root.
Does anyone else have a problem with the car dock randomly disabling and playing on regular speaker mode? Almost every time I dock it the phone will stop and using the navigation on it I need the loud dock speaker not the regular phones speaker. The phone still shows the orange light so it seems to still be connected to the power. I thought bumps may cause the plug to get lose and disconnect but since the orange light is on I don't think its that plus reconnecting it sometimes doesn't help. Any ideas? I'm going to use it for a 8 hour drive so I hope someone helps!!

Mine seems to goof up if I leave wifi on. Try turning off wifi. That seems to work for me. Sometimes if I drive past a house or whatever that has wifi my phone picks it up and it seems to goon up my car dock connection. Hope this helps

my wifi automatic turns off when i leave my remembered locations so i know its not on. its so annoying to worry about the gps/phone/navigation when getting turn by turn directions. this is because even though the phone has been connected and the light stays on when returning from the long drive the and undocked the phone i found the phone very low on battery. i dont understand why if i always checked the light to make sure its not being disconnected since i thought that would mean its not using the battery to power it. this time i am going to try like 4 apps that say they will keep it in dock mode bluetooth on so we will see. i wish i didnt have to load all these apps and just knew which works but i cant risk this happening in a big busy city.

This happens to me too, every once in a while. What I do is unplug the dock from the power, plug it back in, insert my N1 into the dock, go into settings and repair the dock. Works after that.

will keep this in mind. i noticed another problem. i lowered the audio when playing pandora internet radio but i cannot put it back to loud! ive tried audiomanager and nothing. used navigation to turn it up but it says its maxed already yet both are very low. its so odd that i can lower the audio but not make it louder. ive now lowered it to like 1 bar and cant hear nothing unless totally silent in the car. ive even downloaded some apps to max the dock audio but i dont think they worked. time to reinstall cm i guess.

Did you try the volume buttons on the dock?

Oops, just noticed a typo. My sentence should read like this: "This happens to me too, every once in a while. What I do is unplug the dock from the power, plug it back in, insert my N1 into the dock, go into settings and re-pair the dock (via Bluetooth). Works after that.

yea thahts the problem i cant make the volume higher just lower and no way i can get to the phones buttons without undocking the phone. hmmm i wonder if the volume is in the actual dock and a unplug will restore it.
Have had this problem (random bluetooth disconnects) with the car dock since, I think, 2.2.1 came along. Reseting the car dock (power off and on) sometimes resolves the issue. Prior to 2.2.1 I don't think this problem existed. Anyone confirm that ?
*Update* Nexus One died totally today and is being collected by HTC UK tomorrow. That might explain some of the more bizarre behaviour I have been seeing.
ive had the problem on 2.1 but it wasnt a big deal for around town. found it a pain in unknown cities especially noisy highways using the stock speaker on the phone. i got home today from the trip i must take every 6 months and stayed parked trying to figure it out. 1st thing i had to do was up the volume. i found a nice app called a2dp volume that helped restore max volume on the actual car dock. at that exact moment it was docked but switched back to speaker kicking off all car dock apps like navigation and car mode. i just left it in the dock trying not to tiggle anything to reactate it and checked the settings-wireless and bluetooth. under bluetooth settings way at the bottom in paired devices i saw the car dock nexus one. it said it was paired but not connected. i held down the item and clicked connect (also if clicking the item gives you like 3 checkmarks 2 checked but 1st box is unchecked named Connect) and that is how i fix it now. really annoying to navigate through all that just to reconnect the bluetooth to the device. looking for a app that will help with this. if anyone finds it please reply!
When you say your wifi turns off, does it turn itself back on when you go back to you remembered networks? If so disable wifi completely.

i have a app called y5 that completely turns off the wifi when away from the remembered area. with that app, i cannot turn on/off the wifi because the app will not allow changes unless i turn off that app.
I bought a USB graphics tablet (Huion HS64) that's compatible with Android 6 and above. Problem is that when I connect it, there's no pointer on the phone indicating where it is I'm about to tap. Touch works perfectly fine, but the "invisible mouse" problem is annoying.
Is there any way I can display the same pointer that comes up when I connect a USB mouse to the S10? Or perhaps a similar icon or dot via overlay? I'd be fine with it always being on if that's easier than having the phone recognize the tablet as a mouse.
My device isn't rooted, but I'm not opposed to it if it solves the problem. Thanks in advance!

I think there's a misunderstanding. It's the S10 that I want the cursor on, the tablet itself doesn't have a display. I'll edit the title and desc to be more clear.
Edit - Welp, I guess I'll just edit the description
Invisible Cursor
Hi!
The same thing happens with the Samsung S7 Edge, S8 and S10+, but with the Note 9 the cursor is visible.
I tried other brands and models and the cursor is visible. (Ex. Huawei Y6 )
I hope we find a solution.

Yep. I contacted Samsung support but got the "well, we don't support graphics tablets" speech, so brick wall there. Emailed Huion and they asked me to check my OTG and pointer settings and to contact Samsung support. I just replied that I did those things and that others were having the same problem so we'll see if we get any progress on that. In the meantime we'll just have to wait until someone decides to code something up for us muggles.
Speaking of code, and I'm no expert so grain of salt and all that, I've got a few theroies:
Option 1: Force cursor visibility always
The cursor DOES pop up when a mouse is plugged in, therefore by changing some variables, we should be able to force the cursor to always be on (root likely required). I know that the phone tracks pointer location when you hover the pen over the tablet because, when plugging in both a mouse and the tablet to the phone, one can see the cursor moving. Unfortunately, the cursor only appears when the mouse is wiggled and disappears once the pen moves the cursor (so basically we get a cursor that flashes in and out really fast). On top of that, we can't click and drag while the cursor is doing the flashy thing.
Option 2: Edit device recognition
This, I imagine, would be a lot more work, but it would offer a nice quality of life feature. If we could get the phone to recognize the tablet as a connected mouse, the cursor should appear when we plug it in and disappear when disconnected. I'm not sure, however, that drawing tablets send the same type of data as mice do so the phone may not be able to interpret it regardless.
Option 3: An overlay app that tracks pointer location
While this would need to be made from scratch, I think it the most straightforward approach. An apk that puts a symbol over wherever the pointer location rests! Just enable it to draw over other apps and voila, instant cursor. This would require that the phone monitor cursor data without the stock cursor being on, though.
But yeah, until either something gets coded up, Samsung gives us an update, or Huion gets their stuff together, we're kinda stuck. If you're dead set on using the tablet regardless, the best I've been able to do is mark off the boundaries of "phone mode" with a pencil on the tablet, put a dot in the center, download a "crosshair" overlay app, and position the crosshair so that it lines up with the drawn dot on the tablet. Then you should have a point of reference for where you're about to tap! Scuffed? Absolutely. Functional? You bet.
Still haven't found the solution? The same problem occurs on Galaxy S7.

Nope, nothing so far. Huion emailed me back saying that "the problem is weird" and that they'll get back to me "once our technicians figure out the problem". So we're pretty dead in the water without a nice piece of code.
Force Cursor/ pointer display in huion hs64 on samsung phones
Im here to ask if the problem was fix regarding the cursor pointer ? Im planning to buy this huion hs64 and currently using Samsung Galaxy A50
Nope......I tried using the hs64 on my A50 and still no cursor
Hi there! Something new? For some reason Samsung S series phones have a lock. Why the Note series works perfectly.

Hi there! Something new? For some reason Samsung S series phones have a lock. Why the Note series works perfectly.
Same, Huion H640p and a Samsung J7 Neo, No Cursor but the tablet works
Ok I know the OP was about a huion tablet, i currently have a wacom and the issue is with s10+ for some reason the tablet doesnt show up as a cursor though if I plug a mouse in it does, anyone any closer to resolve it?
I got the XP-Pen Deco Pro tablet
Actually the tablet itself ain't the problem but the device that you're using. I'm also a Samsung fanatics and sadly they are the only android device that do not support graphic features such as drawing tablet and so. However the tablet perfectly works in other android devices that has cursor enabled.
My problem on my android drawing tablet XP-Pen Deco Pro ( xp-pen.com/product/432.html ) is actually the same... cursor. As far as I know ver. 6.0 and above has cursor support in accessibility menu but the tablet isn't compatible to use as the mouse because enabling cursor from accessibility provides touchpad on the screen which is basically annoying. So if you'd like to use the drawing tablet, use it in a different device... you'll see that the problem is not the drawing tablet but the device you're using.
!!! Solution !!!

It's funny that we took it this long to figure out. Thanks to the great rookie from stack exchange,
Open Settings --> About phone/tab --> Reset --> "Settings Reset".
Let the device restart. Now, be careful. Plug in OTG dongle only first. Then plug in the tab. Don't rush.
Point the stylus in the phone area. You will see a 1mm sized circle.
If it doesn't work, do an accessibility reset. And finally, the device reset. Samsung just wanted us to buy their S6 and S4 tabs instead of graphics tab. That's probably why there is this hustle.
You are welcome.
Thank you note

Would be great if it would work in dex.
