Hello all,
I have a rooted G1, CM 4.0.2, PVT 32B, and Radio-2.22.19.26I
--First of all I have read this thread."http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548924".... How do I find my current SPL?
--Primarily-I would like to know why/if I should flash the Danger SPL. What benefits will it give me?
--Also, that thread I posted explains how to flash the radio, spl and CM mod.
Do I need to do all three things just to get the updated SPL?
--If I just want to flash the SPL. I think I just need to DL the "spl-signed" zip file and rename it "update" and flash it.
If I am wrong could someone please link me to a tut or explain how to flash the SPL only?

As long as you got the newest radio (which you do) just update.zip and update. The "danger" spl will free up more space on your phone allowing you to install the hero roms. If you decide to do the new spl then be prepared once you flash it you will be stuck on the g1 screen. All you got to do is load a new rom and you'll be back to normal.

So when I am stuck, how do I reboot to load a rom? Do I remove the battery?

Just before you flash the new spl put the rom you want to use on the sd card, then boot into recovery and flash. Remember if you use the new recovery you don't have to rename to update.zip.

while this thread is on the go may i ask anyone if they can tell me how to display the currently installed SPL ?
is there a command that shows this info ??? is there another method ???
and am i correct to assume that as i have 90-MEG total on my G1 that i must have the latest SPL ??
i was so careless not making a note of which spl i used during the root method !

To check, boot in to the SPL by holder camera and power when the phone is off. The version should be at the top of ths screen. A rainbow coloured screen means the SPL is stock.

Hi guys. I need some clarification on the procedure for updating the radio, SPL, and OS. First off I’m going to try and upgrade to 1.6 Specifically http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538456
I’m getting thoroughly confused. Some guides are saying update the Radio, then the SPL, then OS. Some say OS then Radio, leave the SLP if you have the hard SPL that was installed during the initial rooting. Right now I have Android 1.0 RC29 installed with radio 1.22.12.29
Does anyone have any ideas? I already bricked my G1 earlier today. T Mobile replaced it. I’d rather not do it again. Any help you guys can provide would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
flash the 2.22.19.26I radio, then flash the rom. if you do not have the hard spl it can be flashed before or after the rom, the 1.33.2005 spl is the only spl that can brick your phone

How would i go about checking to see which radio version and SPL version im running?
i havent updated them since i originally rooted my phone months ago (1 touch root method for rogers dream) and i cant remember which SPL i installed (haykuro's i think)
is there any benefits to upgrading radio and spl?
are there different versions of radio and spl??
i know i can grab haykuros from http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/

check your spl and radio by booting into fastboot: camera+power
thanks a bunch looks like im running the latest
the point isnt running the latest but rather a non perfect spl (usually 1.33.2005). doing so allows you full access to fastboot commands and such.
I have G1 on custom ROM WG Built Y-2.6.

What's your SPL, and Radio? If your 2708+ with the new SPL. I don't think you could flash the original 1.6 ROM. But if your not, just search the Form's for Android 1.6 for HTC Dream or T-Mobile G1. Then flash it like any other ROM.

i have the us model with the latest radio and hboot.85
well the latest radio is 2.22.28.25 ad hboot is 1.33.0013d
