I flashed Gingervolt 1.2 and every now and then the touchscreen and buttons stop responding. I send it to standby and bring it out and everything works again. Any ideas?
Several people have reported this, starting with the first Gingerbread ROM on the Revo. It happens to me about twice per week.
Happened in froyo too. Normal round these parts.

Same here on stock Gingerbread. I recall it happening on Froyo too.

Happens to me about twice a day. Gingervolt 1.2, but it never happened to me while on Froyo.
It didn't happen to me when I was on v4 revolt 1.3-1.5 and v7 gingervolt 1.0-1.2
After I flashed GV 1.3 and used it for a day it started to screen freeze in random occasions, on home screen, texting with textfree, surfing with boat and dolphin hd browser, xda app
Are there's a fix besides doing lock-unlock screen?
I notice it occur more often when I'm surfing w either boat or dolphin hd around 2-3 times an hr
It get annoying
I also tried wiped data/cache/dalvik didn't solve the issue
I'll try wipe data/cache/dalvik then reflash GV 1.3
Hope that'll fix it
SuperCharged GingerVolt B-) R U?
I think it happens more often when frequently touching the screen (like when using a browser... Lots of scrolling and what not).
I'm never comfortable saying never (teehee), but I don't recall a single time this happened before I flashed GV. Only used stock GB long enough to root it and install CWR so I can't speak to that.
Mt, would a log kitty potentially be helpful here? I might as well give you a whole litter (gotta keep this pun going ).

I could believe it was from touching the screen a lot. It happens to me playing some games as well.

That's what I've felt was the cause, touch overload of sorts. I remember it happening when I tried to wipe clean the screen while it was active. That made it non-responsive.

I wipe data/cache/dalvik then flash my 1st rooted V7 GB cwm recovery then GV 1.3
After testing last night the screen freeze seems to be fixed for now
I tried overload the touch screen on texting/browsing/games to see if it would freeze and it didn't
Glad I made that 1st recovery

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. Every once in awhile my cappy reboots straight to the boot ani. Wondering if it isn't the kernel. Still I love this rom anyone else having the same issue?

It's the kernel I've seen people post about reboots
What you are experiencing is called a "hot reboot" the phone itself doesn't reboot just the os.
+1
I'm having issues all over the place - hot reboot is one of about 5 or 6 I've noticed on the last couple of days. Just flashed v5 from v2.3 and I'll be going back ASAP.
Thanks studacris. I thought maybe I did something wrong. No way im going back though. Gb on the cappy is great. Again thanks to all.

I had the same issue before. I wiped user data and rebooted. That seemed to fix the issue. I figure when in doubt...clear and reboot.

What other problems are you having? I'm running Beta 3 as well (I missed when they put up the download link for RC1, now I have to wait until they fix whatever problems there are with it.) and I'm not having any issues whatsoever. Battery life is great as well, which was my only real gripe with CM7.
I was on RC3 and now 5.1, and I haven't had any such problems. I was running another ROM (not Continuum, which I will not name) before, which suffered from terrible sleep death. About every other day, it would not wake up from sleep at all. I had to pull the battery to get it to work again. I have had NO such problems with Continuum at all.
Oops. Posted too soon. Continuum 5.1 was extremely laggy. Tap something and the screen blanks out before the app comes up. That's bad lag. Also, it completely crashed on me about 4 times in a couple of hours.
I just flashed 5.2, and it seems to be better. However, icezar1 says the problem was with TW4, but I'm using Launcher Pro. I hope these problems don't persist.
Well, 5.2 was almost as bad as 5.1. I installed the previous version of the kernel (Talon 0.1.4) and all was well. Some kind of high memory freeing something or other. Then today Cezar released 5.3 which is even better. This is a great ROM.

About a month ago I was running cog5v2 but kept having problems with my phone not ringing and getting media, Android, and wssyncmlnps failures. I couldn't take it anymore so I went to I897UCKF1 and then rooted. That's it. Initially I didn't have any problems but after a week my phone freaked out and i'm back to where I started with the same failures.
maybe this will help but it looks like the reason my phone isn't ringing is because it can't access media inside my phone. If I try to select a ringtone the phone reboots.
Thanks so much for any help possible,
Kraig

Try kh3?

The kf1 build was pure crap, full of random reboots and charge bugs. The new ke3 is full of redemption. The devs here finally have something decent to work with, so give them shot.

I'm running KH3 and its very stable, much better than kf1.
I'll have to give one of the other builds a try.
hopefully I'll get to it tonight.
Thanks, Kraig

I have noticed that when I bring my phone out of sleep mode with GB the soft keys at the bottom do not light up unless I tilt my phone completely vertical. Anyone else have or can confirm this and the vertical?
I adjusted my brightness but it did not fix the issue.
H.
I'm not having this issue. Only issue I've had is when I press the home button it takes it to the home but takes a second to load up my weather widget

i'm having the same issues too when i turn off the auto brightness
only fix seems to leave it on
Ok now I take back what I said, I rebooted my phone and the soft keys aren't lighting up when I wake the phone up
Mine was doing the exact opposite after updating to GB. I would turn the screen off, while the phone was plugged in, and the soft keys stayed lit... all night! A couple reboots later and its still the same. Only when i unplugged it did the lights finally go off.
I had this issue when I first used the esteem exploit (which did not work, a workaround was needed). However now I have no issues (phone is rooted)

i'm on supercharge vz7 gingervolt
I have the same issue with both of my Revo's, one Rooted using EsteemRoot method and the other unrooted running Stock 2.3.4, it's a bug with our version of GB. Edit: It only seems to happen during or after being connected to USB via PC or charger...
VS910 4G [GV 1.0]
I supercharger on gingervolt since last nite and it seems to fixit
I had the auto bright off the whole night and each time i unlock my phone the soft keys lights up
I started having this issue tonight after I disconnected my revo from my computer. It only started after I flashed Gingervolt 1.1, it never did it on GV1.0

I made the mistake of installing the "Easy Battery Saver" app on my LG Revolution with Gingervolt 1.3. Then my phone wouldn't connect to anything sometimes and rebooting would cause a lot of force closes, so I removed it.
Now I get no 4G whatsoever and occasional Wifi disconnections. Anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this?
Thanks.

Not sure why it did that but I would try just wiping and reflashing.

I was afraid of that. Is booting into recovery and choosing wipe data/factory reset ok?
Guess that will teach me to back my stuff up...
Wipe Data/Factory Reset got the 4G back. Now I need to set up my accounts/apps again...

Did the same thing today and found this solution. I know its too late for you but maybe it can save the next person a reflash.

I saw that thread and downloaded that app, but I didn't really see anything in the apns which said"4G" so I wasn't really comfortable with it. The wipe/reset ended up not being so bad... It helped me get rid of some of the crap I never used anyway..
I just had to do the exact same thing a few days ago.(wipe and reflash gv 1.3) that app sucks, stay away from easy battery saver!

It doesn't seem to matter what kernel I'm using. When Trying to go to a site like google it will freeze up to 30 seconds before it starts to load But only on wifi. Anyway to fix this?. Thanks.
I think it has been that way for maybe a year, ever since the zv9 update last July. I've tried both stock zv9 and Broken Out multiple times during that time and both of them have had issues like that. I'm going to try one more time and only install a bare minimum of apps to prevent laggy behavior. Of course, it's not going to be a phone anymore, but a low power server (Servers Ultimate app).
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
A low powered server?. Hah techy.
now that kinda makes sense because I think my kernal was originally V8 when I checked it and it didn't do that before. Can we use a V8 kernel with break out?. Also do you know anyone that has one?.
Also if you do figure out how to stop it on that front please let me know.
Is a v8 kernel anywhere?. I would suppose it would be high sought after sense it didn't have this issue.
If you flash the zv8 TOT with LGNPST, you will have a stock zv8 kernel, but also stock ROM. I feel like mtmichaelson used the original Broken Out v1 thread and changed the OP and links when he updated it to zv9. I am not sure if BO 1 is there anymore. That would also be zv8. I don't recall anyone making a flashable zv8 kernel.

Coool. So this should fix the wifi?.
Not sure. I have had lag all around, not just on WiFi.

I will have a zip for zvb shortly. For some reason the home button broke. Gotta figure that one out. :banghead:
