I was originally stock, then rooted. After we had the update i never bothered to re-root. I will be rooting again for sure, but is it worth it to install the latest Liberty Rom? I use my phone daily and would like a rom in which everything works. Is their anything not working on the Liberty Rom?

I'm using liberty now. The only issue I have is that aapps on the sides of the app drawer are sometimes hard to tap. Not a huge issue, the rom is super fluid otherwise. its my favortie rom for the d3.
Thank you so much, im deffinitely getting this rom now. Hows battery life?

Better than stock for me.
when you say..UPDATE you mean the .890 update or the .894?

This is only an issue with Liberty Launcher. Use ADW or LP.

I hate the liberty stock launcher.. tho I used go launcher forever w/ no issues so I just reloaded it onto liberty. However I just switched to adw to be able to customize more like 2 days ago. I'm not sure if ima keep using adw yet tho despite for once everything looks 100% how I want.

Love Liberty. I'm using it until CM7 is fixed up a bit more. It's very fast and AOSP like, with the stability of a stock rom. Though I'm using Blur launcher. It never gets killed with the build.prop tweaks from Liberty.

I'd just like to begin by apologizing for my noob-ness. Is the 2.2 Froyo with Sense ROM able to be
themed at all? I was wondering because I like the Sense UI and all, but it just doesn't feel like 2.2 for some reason. This also makes me question switching to CM6... Thanks to any answers given.

Get ADW launcher and some Adw themes from the market. Both are free.
Hope that helps.

there are skins available for sense, but none of them look like the standard aosp android.
if you want the aosp android look, i would definitely recommend flashing to CM7, which is 2.3 based.
Ah, okay thanks. I know its off topic, but since CM7 was brought up, how stable is the ROM? Ik its still in relatively early stages, but how is it problem-wise? I've been debating between my current 2.2 w/ sense vs. CM7.

It's pretty stable, if using the latest nightly. The RC1 has its issues.

Everything you need to work works. Its a stable fully functional rom for daily use. I highly recommend the latest nightly. And the theme Chooser built into the rom along with either adw (comes with the rom) or launcherpro (free in market) make it very customizable. in the visual department.

Do you want TW4 on your Samsung
Epic? Yes you do. Believe me. Ever since I got my first
TouchWiz-powered device, I really hated it, and found myself
using other 3rd party launchers instead. But ever since I
upgraded to a rom that came with TW4, I immediatley found my
new launcher. It was love at first site. I've worked very hard to get
TW4 for all Epic 4g owners.
To install this amazing launcher, first
make sure you are rooted/deodexed. (but who isn't nowadays??)
Next, make sure you are on Clockwork v3.1.0.1 or higher. Wipe
cache and delvic cache 3 times. Don't wipe data unless you want
all your stuff to be gone (TW4 isn't worth THAT much) install the
.zip from your SD card, reboot your epic, and enjoy.
Hasn't this been out for a while now or is this something different
So you basically stole this from someone else's work?
Congratulations. We've had TW4 already =)

I never flash tw4, I take the two apks, and place them in system/app, and remove the original tw, fix permissions in cwm, reboot
Idk if this is the same as the OP, but this is the most stable version I have found. So naturally, I saved it to my dropbox lol

I never used it because it doesn't scale right. At least at the resolution I'm at.
But way to flame right off the bat y'all. First post, let alone first thread. He's only been a member since the 19th.
Thank you for the thought! I did the same thing with MIUI music a few months ago.
If anything we should dog on you for not using the search function first.
Haha welcome to the forums!
EDIT: Actually now I'm surprised. You are rooted and on a custom ROM. You even put up a disclaimer! Experience...troll? Nah. Maybe you've been doing this for a long time? And just now made an account? TELLL MEEEE WHO YOU AREEEEEE?!?!?!
All the previous releases of TW4 for the epic never worked. If this is another attempt i welcome it, cuz it seems as everyone else gave up chasing the dream. I'll give it a shot.

I have been using Froggers version for over a month. For those that said it was buggy and they would get fc or lockups I had the same thing until EG22 and EH06. Since EG22 and EH06 came out it has been perfect. Not a single issue.
This seems pretty stable... However, i wiped the cache 3 times and flashed, nothing... So i extracted the apk, renamed it and replaced it using root explorer. Once again, the Program Monitor widget doesn't work, but it a small price to pay... Kudos!

Too lazy to find the thread myself, but if you look in Samsung Galazy I9000 themes & apps forum you will find a heavily modified touch wiz 4.5. I have been using that.
It looks kind wonky in landscape, but it works pretty good. Not the smoothest launcher out there, but still looks nice.
Good looks I just flashed
this over eh17 its better than the old touch wiz I like how you can go from screen to screen just like the galaxy s2 Epic touch its great I seen it on the s2 video yesterday now my epic can do the same thing I was wondering if someone could take that feature& put it on a ROM or theme?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
TW4 always seems good at first, but then it started giving me reboots, freezes, etc. (that was on EG22, hopefully EH17 won't have the problem)
As great as it is, I don't think it's worth it until we get TW4 widgets. Now that would be awesome.
I already have the tw4 plus widgets on eg22

It's definitely worth switching in my opinion there's absolutely no down side, the stock launcher sucks and most others are customizable. Go launchers pretty good, I like adw better but it's all about what you prefer. Be careful if deleting stock apps they can be trouble if they're not deodexed.

I've tried a ton of launchers, if you want one that's quick and light on your battery i'd go with zeam launcher. Adw is more customizable and still very fast, go launcher felt a little slower to me but still a good option, launcher pro is okay but in my opinion slower than the others. You should try a few out until you find one that works for you...

I've tried dozens including Go but I always, always come back to Zeam. I like mine clean and fast and Zeam delivers.
If you want themes then definitely give Go a shot. TONS of devs on that one. And I wouldn't worry about battery. I keep Go installed so I can use Go Locker and have never had issues. /t

They are both great, and both have the enable back button for menu, EQS toggles in the pulldown shade and removed the power saver icon from the pulldown. Those are the 3 main reasons I wanted to root my phone.
Alright, completely random question. When you use a custom launcher, is the stock launcher still running in the background?
