S-Off and Changing C ID of the Sensation XL - HTC Sensation XL

Hi.
Does anyone know how to S-Off and Changing C ID of the Sensation XL? I want to change it to the Middle East in order to get he Arabic update.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks

Any answer??!!

None so far.

Same here !
I think the only option for now is to wait till January 2012 for the ice cream sandwich to get Arabic by default !

As this is basically the same hardware as the Titan, and WP7 uses non user accessible SD cards, do we know if the 16gb is actually a memory chip, or just a hidden sd card?
If it's a hidden sd card, wouldn't the old Gold card trick work for flashing ROMS?

Just tried the old adb command using mmc0 instead of mmc1 as it is internal, and i get a CID returned. Seems it is indeed a card rather than a chip, which suggests the old gold card method for ignoring CID and flashing other region ROMS may well be possible.

Although a further thought....Being that only part of the card is mounted ad sd_card, and the rest is mounted as part of internal storage, could it be that part of it is being used as the emmc, in which case that might royally be screwed up if we tried the gold card trick on it...
Hmmm. I'm thinking i don't want to test that just yet!

I tried http://revolutionary.io/
choose sensation it worked for me...

Do you have Sensation XL? I tried it but the recovery version is not there and in addition, when I ran the software, it gave me a message that my device is not supported.

Goldcard - Am I doing it wrong?

Hi there, For the past few hours I've been trying to create a goldcard with no succes. So far I tried 3 different SD cards (2gb sandisk, 8gb sandisk that came with the phone and a 1gb noname one) and none of them works so I'm kinda wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
First things first. Syncing doesnt work. I got it to finally recognize the sync but thats about it. However I do get the Device ID and everything.
When I format the disk using the phone, there is actually still data on it. Is it supposed to be this way? Can't I format it from within windows?
Second is the unlockr guide. Now English is not my native language but at some point the guide is rather unclear. Once you get the CID code, you have to reverse it the site will automatically add 2 0's. However the next step tells you to change the first 2 digets into 0's. But they already are 0's right? So what do I do? Leave it? change the first 2 digets after the 0's to 0's? (actually I tried both and it didn't work).
Also the guide is just wrong at the point where it tells you to retry the hex thing. If it didn't work the sdcard is damaged and there is no point in trying again because it wont show the correct data anymore. And there isn't actually a point 19 while the writer suggests there is
Sooo is it me doing something wrong or is it a sd card problem? I tried doing it on both win7 x64 and XP.
If it is a sd card problem, what card should I buy? If 3 different cards don't work I get the feeling its more of a lottery than anything else to get a working card but I really don't feel like buying a dozen of sd cards and hope I get lucky. Is there a certain brand/size that will work for sure?
ive been having issues with a 64bit os to but under 32 bit it seems to be going well so far (win7)
I think I now managed to make one using this app: http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/
But now I got the goldcard, what do I do next? I got the RUU but do I just run it from my pc with the phone in sync mode? Or do I need to go in some other mode?
edit: btw what is this talk on some sites that your sd card can only be a goldcard? You can just format it right?

Partitioning new SD Card

New G1 owner. Purchased this:
hxxp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=150522897074&si=ja459pNCCg3NN1jod0njqPzl3JI%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_500wt_1156
No clue what it's running for Recovery though but I'm assuming the CM6 rom comes with one? I'm waiting for a response from the seller.
Now I want to buy a new 32GB Class 6 SDHC card for use with this particular phone. But I've noticed that partitioning the card is an important step during the installation of said ROM? How would I go about partitioning this new card without bricking my phone? I don't need any of the files off the new card since the seller mentioned that he had cleared it. What should I partition the card too? I've heard anywhere from 512MB to 1.5GB?
What are some applications that I should be aware of for this particular ROM? I'm very new to all of this and want to keep the phone running decently well. I've heard something about an application with the ability to run apps off the SD card to preserve memory? Would installing such a program be simple for someone as noobish as me? Or should I keep it simple and just install everything onto the phone?
Ok. Well first off you have a lot of reading to do. Hope you like to read. I can tell you that partitioning your sdcard is done through recovery mode. You need to get in there first. Also cm6 is a rom. It does not come with a recovery. That is totally different. It would be good to know what version you have. I assume amon ra 1.7.0 but it will tell you on the recovery screen. What values you set it to are up to you but you can just leave the values alone when your doing it and it will give you a starting point. The rom will tell you how to save your apps 2 sd. You have to read the first post to find that info out. Good luck and welcome to xda

[Q] Blank SD card or has Unsupported File System Error

The AMOLED screen on my Nexus One broke, so, I sent it for repair to a dealer cause there is no official HTC support for Nexus One in India. Before I sent the phone I took a backup of my SD card and also removed it from the phone.
After I got the phone back with the new screen installed, I put in my SD card and it says Blank SD card or unsupported file system. So, I tried different SD card and the same thing popped up with every card I put in. It would ask me to format the card and even if I formatted, it would not mount the SD card. The SD cards work in all other phones and SD card readers.
So, I sent the phone back to the repair guy and he said that its most probably a software bug because if it was a hardware bug then the error message would not pop up at all. He said that it would be best to reflash the ROM but then he tried and the ROM could not be reflashed.
Now the Phone is with me and everything works except for the SD card. Plugging the phone in the computer also doesn't help as the card is not being mounted by the phone at all.
The phone I am using is a Nexus One with stock ROM Android 2.3.4 (never rooted or hacked).
Please help me find a solution to this. I'm even ready to install a custom ROM but can't do so without an SD card.
Please help!!!
Ok well android can't find the SD card but lets see if your bootloader can if not then send it in for repairs again because it's not software. Check my sig there is a link that says passimg try those instructions and tell me what you get.
Hey,
Thank you for the response but most of the instructions require the SD Card. However, in my case as you know the SD Card itself is not functioning. So even if I download the Passimg file, I can't place it on the SD card.
Is there a way to use ADB to wipe the phone completely and then reinstall the original factory stock ROMS?
I did go back to the vendor and asked him to repair the device but after a heated argument he just said that the device's SD card is working but it is not recognizing the cards in it which he said is because of a software bug and for that you need to re-flash the device completely but he didn't have the means to do it, so now I'm left with an unusable phone.
So, in shot can I do the whole reflash thing without the SD card working?
Thank you for responding, you're the only one so far whose come to the rescue. Waiting to hear from you.
Thanks
Hey,
So I just understood the full extent of your recommendation. You wanted me to check if the bootloader detects the Passimg file or not given that booting into Android is not doing that.
As per the instructions on the passimg page I need to download the FRG83 ROM and apply the update. But I'm just wondering if I do this and if the bootloader actually detects the update on the SD card, won't I also need to downgrade the HBOOT version or is it jut safe to apply the downgraded FRG83 over the GRJ22 build that I currently have on the phone?
The details of my phone are as follows:
Nexusone pvt Ship S-ON
HBOOT-0.35.0017
MICROP-0b15
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0103
RADIO-5.08.00.04
Oct 12 2010, 14:33:16
Please guide as per your convenience,
Thank you.
I'm not 100% sure but I'd assume that if you do as what you're planning to do.. the HBOOT should also be flashed automatically with the rom. double check incase!
Hi Again,
So, I took the risk and downloaded the FRG83 ROm loaded it into my SD card using a different phone and then put that card into the SD card slot of the Nexus One.
I went into the boot loaded and it automatically detected the PASSIMG.zip file and asked me whether I want to install the Update - I chose YES.
The update installed successfully and I booted into Android. After finishing the Wizard, I checked the Android Version and it says FRG83 but when I look at the notification bar it still shows me the same error "Blank SD card or has Unsupported File System".
So, we can conclude that the SD card and the SD slot work fine.. Any thoughts on what could be done next?
Well that's weird ok well lets see what the computer says. Put the card back in that other phone and connect it to the computer then on the computer go to computer then right click the card (probably E: maybe F: ) then go to properties and check file system make sure it's FAT32.
Not sure if it's wort posting on this thread still, but lots of people come searching for a solution to this problem so I figured I'd post at least another thing to try.
I've had this happen several time on various Android phones. I've been able to bring the card back every time. I throw the card into my micro usb reader, pop it in my computer, and run disk utility (I don't know what equivalent would be for Windows). You should see your SD card come up and see your main data partition there below it. Click on the partition and click repair in the bottom right.
It will run through some stuff and you'll be able to see if it's found anything in need of repair and if it repaired it.
The few times this has happened to me Disk Utility said it was an empty block at beginning of some data or something...
YMMV

When I had this exact problem, I had to replace the SIM/Micro SD flex board to fix it. They were $15 shipped on eBay at the time.

[Q] IncS freezes when putting in new SDcard

Well, I got me a new SD-card for my IncS, all brand new and shiny and stuff, and it's 32gb in size and a class 10 card for being extra fast. (HTC told me, IncS works with classe 8, but they should be downward-compatible, I think)
But - every time I try to put it in my IncS freezes and doesn't react anymore. Only cure is to remove the battery (and the card of course) and start the device again.
My phone runs with Nik's ROM v1.5, the recommended radio and itandy's circular battery mod.
Already reformatted the card on my laptop (using mkfs.vfat on my Ubuntu system) -- but no change.
Anyone else experiencing this? Or ideas how this may come?
Thx for your kind help!
Hello, I'm not to sure about this but could you try formatting your SD using FAT32 system?
have u formatted from ntfs to fat32?
Thanks for your advice - didn't have to use it though.
Problem disappeared without further notice, not leaving any traces

[Q] In a bit of a Predicament, Need help! - SD card isnt mounted and in a bootloop

I've rooted and installed a new ROM for my friends HTC sensation XL called Total Sensless. Upon installation i forgot to edit the vold.fstab file in order for my sd card and internal storage to be able to be read. However I'm also stuck in a bootloop. i cant access the sd card from recovery to flash the same Rom with the edited vold.fstab and i cant seem to push a ROM via adb onto my phone as the internal and sd card memory isn't recognised. Any help would be save me paying from breaking my friends phone, i really need help.

First of all, make sure you read things before doing things, secondly, you should have S-OFF'ed the phone, most probably that is the reason why you are in a bootloop, so the best thing for you would be to find the device CID, and if you find a RUU to match your CID, then you are lucky and can start all this thing from scratch.
Or, you could use any of the tools Multi-Tool, AIO, whatever, and install another custom Recovery, and mount USB from there, see what happens.
I gave the RUU a try and tried flashing one that seemed to match but it kept showing an error saying "unable to update your android phone please get the right ROM Update Utility :/
I'll try installing a new recovery and let you know how it goes
Thanks a heap man
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda app-developers app
[Solved]
And it worked i flashed TWRP using AIO tool and then mounted the USB storage and then reinstalled the origianl ICS Rom back on.
Thanks a tonne, wouldve had to pay for a replacment, means a lot :good:
