I just got my Verizion Droid 3 a few days ago. Still want to see if it could be used on AT&T or T-Mobile's Network. I understand that there is a band lock on it for US cellular carrier.
The question is: If I flash the XT883's chinese ROM. Will the phone get unlocked? (Since it comes with the radio.img).
I already unlock the phone from Verizon Wireless. Also, don't want get XT860, which is GSM only verion Droid 3. It is NOT a real global phone.
Update: Just flash the radio.img from Chinese ROM, no signal at all. Signature from verizion wireless needed?
Someone said if you flash the China Telecom ROM it will work. Maybe if we can extract the radio it will work better. Who knows?

rsd lite can flash it,do not need fastboot if you use windows os.
All you have to do is flash the radio.img from SOLANA_SLNCT-57.1.60_Fastboot in fastboot mode
Code:
moto-fastboot flash radio radio.img
then add the following lines to the build.prop
Code:
persist.ril.rssi.enable.param6 = 1
persist.ril.baudrate=230400
I can confirm this works with an AT&T sim in an unlocked phone, tested with stock and liberty 2.0.

Hey guys, I know this has been posted a few times, but I want to make sure I end up with the right stock radio. Can anyone link me to the stock Droid 3 radio? I unlocked for T-mo use for a while but my wife needs it for a while so back to VZW. Thanks in advance.

The best bet is the 890 SBF link. Find the radio file there and flash it back.

I meant AT&T. Shoot.
I have Tampered/Relocked/Security Warning on the phone atm. I though I downgraded the boot.img right but then decided just to reflash the stock RUU. I guess I'll reach out to him then.
For AT&T you can grab the RUU straight from HTC's support site.
I must have missed it then

Got it. I was thinking of you using it to flash CWM which seems to be better compatible with the ROM zips:
http://androidfiles.org/?developer=MystUL&folder=Stock_Roms
after the ROM is installed you can flash back to TWRP, if desired.

you can't downgrade, update does not let you go backwards. However if you have a Dev edition and its unlocked you can root it very easily. Fastboot TWRP to it. Then boot into TWRP and flashed SuperSu 1.65 *.zip. Just run a search on Google and you'll find a link to SuperSU the *.zip you need
Edit: here is the thread for SuperSU

just reading and curious--with an unlocked BL you can't use the fxz file to flash to an older version? couldn't you first flash the old boot loader and then try the fxz file though rsdlite. if that doesn't work couldn't you just flash all of the images separately?

Nope not even a unlocked Dev edition can go fully backwards. Once bootloader is updated it will not pass the checks when flashing trying to go back. I know because I just brain farted the other day flashing my unlocked HD i was selling and tried flashing with the wrong file. However depending on what needs to be flashed you can in some cases flash a specific partition from older an older software build like i did to restore my botched job on the HD.

On my HD i did, and I know the X you can as well currently. Whether that holds true moving forward once 4.3 hits is a different story. In my case messing aroudn its alwasy been the same Android version when flashing something older.
As for the X depending on how you go about updating the X before the full fastboot was posted yesterday if you wanted root you did in fact need to use the old (original stock) kernel to fastboot over the recovery once the OTA was installed.
Tool has been updated and is now a Multi-Tool. See below for added options.
---------------------------------------------------
*****Tool updated 11-12-2014 to V-4.1 - All images and modem have been updated to stock unrooted from motorolas firmware release for the xt1095 for both full wipe and no wipe options. Also added option to install Lollipop OTA update (thanks graffixnyc)********
ROOT option for 5.0 has been added. (Chainfire is a god among men)
Perm TWRP install for 5.0 option is also added.
I made this for my own personal use , but figured I'd share. I take no credit for the recovery images in this tool. I just put everything together in a simple tool. This is a simple one click recovery flasher and also a means to gain root. The tool will push the SuperSU update zip to your phones internal storage. You can then flash the TWRP (thanks Dees_Troy). After twrp is flashed the tool will then reboot you into recovery so you can flash the SU.zip to gain root. If you choose, you can then flash the stock recovery.
For L root you must have updated to L and must have USB debugging enabled. Phone will reboot to boot loader and then boot chainfires custom boot.img.
*****"Please be intelligent and only use this if you have a Pure Edition Moto X 2014 (XT1095) and have already unlocked your bootloader. I assume no responsibility if you cant read or follow instructions.*****

First off, thanks for the tool. Its awesome to see stuff like this already coming out for the phone.

When rebooting into fastboot, give it 30 seconds to a minute to allow fastboot drivers to properly install before hitting enter. I've run approx. 13 devices and have never seen any errors.
Just got my moto x, I havethe same problem as the guy above.
Like I said when phone reboots to boot loader give it time for the fastboot drivers install before hitting enter. Should solve your problems. If it doesn't try deleting and redownloading package.

The red triangle is the stock recovery press vol+up and power after like 15 seconds.
I thought there was something botched with it too but that is how the stock recovery looks
When I flashed the ota on the stock phone (under the tree) I didn't see any triangles, only flashing goodness. So I think something is wrong.

follow this steps:
Prequisites:
1) ADB and Fastboot executables http://www.mediafire.com/download/3vgybfyv7u7tf69/ADB.rar
2) Stock recovery signed image: http://www.mediafire.com/download/jnl3nw9hvk5ouv5/recovery_signed.img
Steps:
1) extract ADB.rar to c;\ADB
2) On c:\ADB hit shift + right click mouse and select "open windows command here"
3) turn on your phone, and from your PC command type: adb reboot bootloader (this will reboot your phone into bootloader)
4)at bootloader type this: fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
and you should see this:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (12100 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.237s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.865s]
finished. total time: 2.102s
5) if this doesnt work, just download the original rom for your carrier from HTC and execute the rom install from your PC: http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
Your phone will be back to original with the recovery also... just remember to relock your phone before executing the Stock ROM exe (type this command to relock: fastboot oem lock)

It should be unless there's a bunch of recovery firmwares for some reason? Is there a reason you need that info?

Stock recovery are not interchangeable. So if this is from something older, it doesn't have much value. I don't know what the likelihood is of future updates, but I like to be prepared.
If someone had an older ruu, I'd be pretty happy to have that, so ota files could be collected.
