Excuse me guys im having problems with the vcr of my milestone after flashing CM7 everything works perfectly but the camera doesnt record audio, only the video.
I would appreciatte a lot your help.
P/S. if this thread doesnt belong here please administers help me change it.

Im using cm7 7.1.1 kang and yes it happened in other rom of cm 7 think it was 7.0.3

so what do you think can be the problem?? is it the version? what baseband i should be using?
With the latest cm7 my camera freeze after taking one picture even if I set it to lower res. cm7 has a bug with the highest res setting I replaced the camera app with the miui camera app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18838041&postcount=6159

The installed kernel on my phone now is grj22 which it came with the cm 7.1 so can I change the kernel with no problems bcoz the 3g is so slow with these and had some problems like force to close in some applications.
So which is the best solution 4 me, and how to solve it

You can check InterRaven's or Tiamat's kernel if they support CM7.1. If they do, you can flash it to replace CM's kernel.
However, I personally think the best solution is to wait for stable version of CM 7.1.

I've got very good results using an Intersect Reaven Kernel with CM 7.0. You could give it a go, and if it is not what you are expecting, just go back... so make a NandDroid backup in case you need it.

You need to know one thing first, GRJ22 is not the version of the kernel. It is actually the build number of the Android System.
I personally would recommend IR kernel, and set it to run using Smartass. Saves battery, while not comprising your user experience.

It was fine when i rooted last month, only happened last 2day when i ean to use it
If u could elaborate how u install the RC2, maybe i could help n find the solution for u.... its quite simple actually... sometimes slight mistake in installing, can make it go wrong... i know coz i have been doing it since i got my xperia x8 a year ago... if u cn try to install rc1 first then upgrade to rc2...

1.flash rc1 via CWM
2.flash rec2 via CWM from rc1
and this would make RC2 work better
i usually have flashed RC2 strait via CWM
kindly explain on the same

flash rc1 via CWM? weird... i flash my rc1 using SUT software as the file was in .nbo then start flashing rc2 via CWM. i wouldnt dare to flash rc2 straight because from my opinion, rc1 is a base firmware and therefore i think its best and play safe to go a long way rather to be sorry.

install over rc1 only i suffered huge losses due to flashing rc2 over stock rom..
nd by losses i mean
camera dont work fine
fm not working "force close"
facebook not working "essential for me"
and also there are so many system issues as rc2 and stock rom are diffrently build try first rc1 and then upgrade to rc2

if it is MIUI,try freezing Google Talk as in the previous version. I got mine working after doing the same.
I face the same problem camera crashed when i tried to turn the front one on then right after no any camera app can open it and not responding, forceclose all the time. I use ROM CM7.1.0 by Napstar. Help me fix this pls.

It's probably the kernel problem. Just like mine, but I'm using MIUI, MIUI kernel 1.9.30 has the same bug, the latest kernel (1.10.21) fix the camera and work again.
Just like deatbearer said, you've to flash stock ROM or Andro-ID RC2 or MIUI 1.10.21.
Thought a lot about purchasing this mobile as it known having issues with camera, however decided to get it.
Got this phone few hours back, verified at the spice outlet whether camera is working or not, was working there.. Back to office and camera got frozen, showing black screen...
In the mean time, was playing with screen (live wallpapers) and suddenly camera application got invoked (not sure how) & working fine - able to take snaps ... again after 30 mins..i tried camera and again it start showing black screen....
Upgraded to gingerbread from spice site... and camera is good now... not sure how to fix the camera if goes black again & i didn't do anything earlier to fix it... it was all by itself switching to cooperative & non-cooperative modes ...

Yes, I think you have to flash that ROM. Just like you flash your CM7, use Andro-ID RC2.
was getting a lot of camera problems on stock firmware,
so flashed it with RC2... never had the problem again
Was working Fine on MIUI too
now using CM7 Still Working

I want to change the baseband to check if I can get better audio quality.
I used GetRIL. It appears 4 options:
V11b
LG-P970-V20o
LG-P970-V20n-Zeus v6.28
CM7
I have V11b but the baseband doesn't match. The only that mach is LG-P970-V20n-Zeus v6.28. But when I change to that baseband, it asks for my SIM securty passcode the first time, like it should. But after a little bit, it asks again, like in a loop.
Can anyone help me why is this? And which baseband is better (CM7 (temasek))

Cm7 only working with v11b RIL. So you need a baseband from v10-v11 rom
The baseband of a v10-v11 rom is 20110707
EDIT: The temasek's cm7 rom is for the optimus x2. You dont use boype's rom? Because the voice sound quality is bad in all cm7. Baseband will help a bit but your voice will still bad. Test new boype fix, apparently the voice call is much better than before!

AFAIK temasek has one kang for O2x and another kang for OB(and other phones too), its not an exclusive unofficial build.

I've been reading that CM9 RC1 is better than RC2. Can someone tell me why so? Which one has the best working camera?
Also since there are so many builds of CM9 out there, which one do you guys recommend besides these two roms?

hi bro, the word is that RC1 is better, because is more stable that RC2.
you can use RC1 with camera libs from RC2 to get camera working.
also i recomend that you check CID ROM, is RC1 based, aokp, very nice.

What doesn't work in RC1? Like bluetooth and such? Also, how do I port the libs? Does the flashlight app work?

Need some help...went fro cm 7 to 9 then ultimately to 10.1, I used acmeuninstaller between ROMs but somewhere in the mix I lost sound and camera. I have updated to latest nightly as of 6/6/13 but has not fixed, anyone have any suggestions?

IDK about the camera, but I've seen the sound work if you plug in the earphones before opening the app. It's worth a try.

Sound and camera both work with the CM10 ROMS. I would recommend OaT's LnTJB ROM linked below.

Yes, I confirm that sound works in CM 10.1, too.
I have been building CM10.1 from source (the HP Touchpad specific code is obtained from milaq's repository).
I guess that the reason some ROMs do not have sound working may be a duct-tape workaround in getting rid of one compilation error regarding the audio module - the line of code located on line #1279 of device/hp/tenderloin/audio_hw.c:

I ran into the issue today and mistakenly replaced the right hand side of the assignment to zero. (This workaround was intended for use with an older version of the code)
