Tab upgrade stuck(?) - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am upgrading my Tab to Gingerbread using the teamovercome ROM.
I finished the first stage and got the screen shown at the end of Stage 6.
However, it didn't carry on.
Am I meant to reboot myself or should it be automatic?
At the moment it is just sitting there doing nothing.

Do a wipe data/factory and cache. then you should reboot the system.

I selected "wipe data/factory and cache" from the menu but the "OK" (power button) refuses to work.

SOLVED:
I just started from the beginning again and all is ok.

CWM 3.0.1.0 Lockup

Wiped Dalvic using CWM to prepare to restore an older kernel. Now frozen on screen with Reboot Recovery as top choice. No buttons do anything. How do I unbrick?
I have had the same thing happen a lot with 3.0.1.0. Just hold down the power button until it shuts off, and the turn it on like normal.
Not sure what is going on with wiping cache and causing this, but I hope a fix comes out soon.
Trist
I run into this problem every single time when doing any kind of CWM work. As posted above, just hold down power button, and if you need back in CWM just hold down the power button and the N button for 5 seconds after the reading screen.
Worked! Thank you!
I found a way to keep it from locking up when wiping dalvik.
Go into wipe dalvik as normal but don't press yes.
Back out of the menu (power button) I then wiped battery stats (I don't know if this step is required) .
Then wipe dalvik like normal and it won't lock up.
If this works for others please post it in the dev forum (not enough posts yet) .

Just tested it again, no need to wipe battery stats.

So just hit "Wipe Dalvik Cache," hit the power button to back out of the menu, hit "Wipe Dalvik Cache" again, and then hit "Yes"?

[Q] ATT Galaxy Tab will not Factory Reset - Overcome Rom

Hi,
I have installed the Overcome Rom v4.0 on my Galaxy Tab. Now I need to wipe it with a hard reset.
I choose factory reset within the settings menu. It brings up the 3e recovery menu. I choose "wipe data / factory reset" but when the reboot finishes, nothing has changed! All my data is still on the machine.
I am using the "home" button as the "Enter" button. This is the only item I found to fulfill this function.
Is this correct? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the search button is the "execute" button.
To be sure, use vol up and vol down to scroll, and tap the power button to execute

Recovery ROM behaviour

I'm having a small question about the stock recovery ROM behaviour of the GT-P1000.
When I boot it into the ROM (power+volup) and I select the wipe cache or wipe data (factory reset) using the home-button it always shows me the android with exclamation mark triangle or the android with a box and an arrow out of it. I can leave it for hours but nothing happens. I tried a device in the store and it does the same. What is the deal of this screen? Why does pressing home again sometimes start the selected action, and why sometimes nothing happens?
Thanks a lot!
Usually when you do anything in recovery mode like wipe/factory reset it should come up with a running text saying thinks like
Wiping /system
Wiling /data
Etc.
Once its done it should put you back in the main menu or press back arrow.
Side note if you press home key it hides/shows the text on the screen. Atleast i think that's what your asking

Well, I do understand that, but, the process is not always started.
So, I start the recovery mode, select factory reset, press select and then the android with triangle and exclamation mark is shown and nothing is started at all.
If I press select again, sometimes the process is started so the tab starts resetting, and sometimes it simply goes back to the main screen showing all options again but nothing happened.
This behaviour of the recovery feels just strange to me so thats why I ask if anyone else has this happening

Looping Boot after OTA-Update

Hey Guys,
After downloading the newest OTA-Update for my Note, it rebooted itself and is now stuck in the boot animation. I only hear the Samsung-Jingle once, but after that it keeps playing the animation over and over. I plugged the Note in and let it go all night, thinking it was part of the upgrade, but this morning it was still looping. I am not using a Root or Custom Rom - this is all stock.
I would appreciate any pointers and insight! Thanks.
Try booting to recovery (volume up + home + power) and do factory reset and wip cache.
Thanks for the reply.
I tried the VolumeUp-Home-Power: The phone will start, I can see the little Android with the status bar, but then it just moves on to the regular boot animation and I am right back in the loop.
Takes a Couple of tries, otherwise try download mode, volume button down, home button and power button. Then connect to PC and flash stockrom with odin.
Its tricky getting it right. Turn off phone, turn on and emediately press the button combos.
From recovery you can do a factory reset or clear dalvicc cache. Clearing this cache solved most of my bootloops.

Pull the battery out and put back in after 3-5 secs. Hold VolumeUp + Home + Power till u can see "Galaxy Note N7000" screen. then it ll boot in Recovery mode. here u can do "wipe / Factory Reset" and "Wipe cache". then after Just select Reboot.
This method should work. if you unable to get into recovery mode, then i guess something went wrong with OTA update. So you have to flash the Official ROM using PC Odin. You can find link to update Official ROM in my signature.

[Q] Stuck in first Cyanogenmod boot?

Hi guys, first time posting here, sorry if a question like this has already been asked but I've looked around and haven't managed to solve my problem yet.
So I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy Mini II (GT-S6500T) and used Odin 3.07 to install ClockworkMod 6.0.3.2 onto it; I then booted it into recovery mode and installed ZIP from SD card, selected CyanogenMod 10.2 ("cm-10.2-20131202-UNOFFICIAL-jenad.zip"), followed instructions etc. installed Google Apps and all that.
Now, when I selected to start up the phone again, it just gets stuck in the Cyanogenmod boot screen, the blue arrow just circles around on and on (I understand that it usually takes a long time but I don't think it's meant to take over half an hour... also, every now and then I notice it kind of makes a low vibrate sound?).
I've read that to fix it you can reboot it into recovery mode and reflash it but the problem is I can't even get into the recovery mode. If I force the phone off (e.g. by removing battery) and hold Vol Up + Vol Down + Home + Power to boot recovery mode, nothing happens. If I just hold Power it starts up and goes straight into boot sequence.
I do have a backup of my previous settings and all that saved - one saved on my external SD card and the same file saved on my computer, so if I can somehow load that back it would be great I guess.

I mentioned earlier I cannot enter recovery mode. When I hold the button combination to go into it, nothing happens.
Earlier I managed to get into download mode (Vol Down + Home + Power) and I reflashed a stock firmware, but now my phone is stuck in a boot loop, it just shows the Samsung screen and vibrates every now and then. I still cannot access recovery mode.
Managed to fix the problem but thanks for the help anyway. Followed one of the solutions here and removed everything, held power for 1 min, plugged my phone into the computer and managed to get into recovery mode. From there I did full wipe, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, format /system (probably only necessary to do full wipe but I dunno), then restarted into download mode and used Odin to reflash stock rom, then reloaded recovery mode and reloaded my backup.
edit: My question now is, I'm not sure what I've done wrong in the process of installing Cyanogenmod to screw up this badly. Is it absolutely necessary to format /system before installing it? I did do full wipe, cache and Dalvik cache and mounted /system prior to rebooting and loading Cyanogenmod.
what i do > install rom > reboot > install google apps .. I had this problem aswell a while ago. what also can be the problem is when u don't format correctly..

Have You as well was unable to go into recovery mode and stuck on bootloop ? One thing I can do is to use Odin, tried to flash some stock firmware with no result. Still no acces to recovery and still Samsung logo loop. I searched, read many topics but nothing helped. Is there something except Riff Jig that could be done ? Thanks for response
-Flash stock rom via Odin
-Flash cwm via Odin
-Pull out battery
-Connect phone to pc (without battery)
-Wait until screen turns on
-Hold recovery combo keys until samsung logo shows (home+volup +voldown +power)
-put battery back quickly
-You should be in recovery now :wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
-Reboot.
I was in similar situation, if not identical. This worked for me. Good luck.
Edit: I didn't see you fixed it already. Ignore the post.
