[Q] CM7 15-11-2011 Version on S5570 Help - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hi peeps. I just need a little help if you guys can help me here. I recently just bought a Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 with stock Froyo 2.2.1. I already updated to the latest Gingerbread 2.3.4 and I wanted to install a custom ROM using CM7.
1) I already rooted the phone.
2) Checked "Unknown Source"
3) Installed Clock Work Mod
4) Copied the latest CM7 (update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyMini-KANG-signed-15112011) to root of SD card.
5) Booted to recovery mode and followed the following steps:
A) Wipe data and cache from the options
B) Select the option ‘install zip from sdcard’ then select ‘choose zip from sdcard’
C) Selected the zip "update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyMini-KANG-signed-15112011"
D) Waited for installation to finish. After completion I wiped data & cache again.
Now here is my problem:
I followed all the steps over and over from yagyas way and other forums and even tried to clear only cache after installation but still my when my phone boots I am stuck on a screen with only "ANDROID" shown.
Could it be the latest CM7 that I am using that is not compatible with my unit? Or am I doing something wrong? Please help. I really want CM7 and any help here is greatly appreciated.
If you can help, and have the patience, please give me specific details on installing CM7 on my S5570. Thanks for all the help here.
By the way, my version of 2.3.4 Gingerbread is S5570DXKPD_S5570OLBKPD (Asia) and I was wondering if could this be 1 of the problems? Because in 1 of the forums I saw "FIRMWARE S5570XXKPI OR XXKPL OR XXKPK !!!!!! THIS IS FOR CWM USERS ONLY!!!!"

try to wipe dalvik cache too before falsh.
there a re new version of CM7, cm 7.1 17112011 and 7.2, you could try this version too!

This is all I can say....assuming u really are stuck there or boot looping.
Wipe data and cache before flashing and not after...though this should not be a prob.
Doing what I told works,

Flash cm7.x once again.. I'm got this problem from emanon to cm7.2, then i did reflash cm7.2 again...and now...cm7.2 on my phone and ....waiting RC.2 .... B-)

[Q] Install new ROM 2.3

Hello,
I try to install new ROM the my first time (and also try to backup my ROM)
So I root my phone (I hope I did it )
and I install ROM Manager .
I download ROM Ultibread-V1.4.ZIP and copy to the root of the SD.
When I open the ROM manager and select to backup my ROM or select Install ROM fro SD Card and get into recovery mod I'm getting only the following options:
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip (this all the time give me error that the file is corrupt even if I download and copy new file
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
format internal sd-card
How can I solve that ?
An easy alternative would be to flash any Froyo Kernel. It would give you Clockwork Recovery directly. You just have to boot into recovery and apply the ROM.
Thats because stock rom can not run unsigned update.zip.
Try to flash speedmod or ultimate kernel via ODIN.
But please make sure that you have 2e or 3e recovery before you use ODIN
Flash cf root in Odin. This will give you 2e recovery which you need to install zip files. Then flash speedmod Odin version and you should have working cwm.

hi dude,
what I would suggest is using Darky's rom ressurection edition
i had the exact same prob but it got solved
it's a little difficult but you shouldn't get stuck if u follow the instructions well
link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940671
this should work
I think I'll wait with flashing Gingerbread for Darky's rom based on it Wouldn't change that for anything else!

[Q] external_sd not mounted properly: neverendig story on MIUI ROMs

Hi,
I read many posts about external_sd not detected properly on MIUI Roms..
Recently someone advised me to put GINGERBREAD bootloader first in order to have external_sd recognized correctly:
http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/content/...l-not-detected
What I did tried so far:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1089989
Download the right version from section above
Reboot your phone into Download mode
Connect your phone to computer
Run EZOdin
Select EZboot-Froyo-1.0.tar.md5 or EZboot-GingerBread-1.0.tar.md5 as a PDA file in EZOdin
Check the "Phone Bootloader Update" checkbox
Click Start
Wait until phone reboots and make it reboot into Recovery
Flash a custom CWM ROM
2. Then flashed Galnet 2.3.2b stable
but right after that I ended up in a bootloop. Only when I remove memory card, it finishes installation.. But with the same problem...
Please can you advise me with step-by-step instructions how to do that correctly ? (flashing correct GB bootloader and then MIUI rom...)
Thanks a lot!
cosmo
I installed miui and had this problem. I wiped cache dalvick cache and did a factory reset and reinstalled miui and now it works fine.

Really ? MIUI without GB bootloader doesn't support external_sd mounting. It is well described in many articles online. Which is exactly my case.
Can you please reply to me with step-by-step instructions what you did ?
Don't forget to mention FROM which ROM version did you do the upgrade and TO which version alsol...
thanks!

CM9 > CM7 Galaxy Ace, help on this I am newbie on this stuffs

Hello, I am new on forum and just discovered about setting new ROMs on my cellphone (its a Galaxy Ace S5830), then I instantly installed CM9 ICS, but now I wanted to install this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583871...
The question is:
Can I install an lower ROM version? What I need to do?
I use the CWM 5.0 and when I try to format everything (cache/data/system/sd-ext), it gives an error on "sd-ext", then anyway I reboot the system and start on CWM 5.0 again, and click on "install update from sdcard" and select the ROM in zip mode of course, then it gives and "Installation aborted"...
for safety I don't want to try other things without consult other people's experience and as I am with my computer on the maintenance I don't have much time for running around searchings about this...
Thank you if you can help...
Cya;
err, may be you should mount data and system before flashing the zip..
Go back to stock rom with odin then try to reflash again using cwm but only wiping, data + cache + dalvik cache
Sent from my GALAXY Ace.
I don't think you need to go back to stock for flashing cm7 over cm9,you are already on ext file system, just do a complete wipe(leave sd-ext if you don't have an ext partition on your sd card), also wipe cache and dalvik cache, then mount data and system and flash the cm7 rom.
That should do the job. Although don't act on my comment yet, wait for a senior member to approve of my statement here, i am a noob too.
P.S. Go for Apocalypse rom, both miracle and apocalypse are made by itasoulas but apocalypse is very new and very awesome rom.

I dont need to put stock rom, the hard is that the links all are on mediafire and I cant download it in the university(the only place I have internet acess by now...)...
Well anyway thx for the help... Thanks to everyone

[Q] Status 7 error on installing CM 10.1

Hi fellows,
I need your guidance and expert advice in resolving a situation, I have ran into recently. I was trying to install CM10.1 on my brother's galaxy Note GT-N7000 international version which was running official ICS 4.0.4.
Since, I had experience in installing different ROMs on my Galaxy S2, Nexus 7 and Xperia Arc so I was not worried about it being a big deal. So, I followed the procedure described in this page http://techgoneinsane.blogspot.com/2012/08/installing-cm10-on-galaxy-note-n7000.html?m=1 and used Odin and file from 'speedmod' to gain root access and flash CWM which was successful. Then, as planned, I tried update zip in the CWM recovery for CM10.1 nightly. But, I came across error 'Status 7' installation aborted. This was new to me, so I tried few things like 'factory reset', wipe data etc and even tried installing stock ROM ICS XXLRK which was previously installed but no avail. I tried several other ROMs like stable CM9 and other nightlies but no success. The phone is stuck on the boot Samsung logo with yellow triangle. However, I'm able to go in the recovery and download mode.
Upon doing couple of Google searches, I came to know, quite a number of people have faced this error by I couldn't understand the fix properly so can anyone of you please guide me for the solution. Thanks.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are on Speedmod's recovery (which is safe), you can try this:
1) Download the latest CM10.1 kernel and save it to your SD card.
2) Flash it in Recovery (Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard), then reboot in the new Recovery (advanced > reboot recovery).
3) Do a full wipe (even format preload and system in "mounts")
3) Flash the latest CM10.1 build
4) Flash the 4.2.2 Gapps
5) Do a data wipe / factory reset
6) Reboot
You got a yellow triangle because you flashed an unofficial kernel through Odin. To get rid of it, use TriangleAway.
Good luck!

You're welcome. Glad I could help . If you feel like it, hit the Thanks button on Chasmodo's first message in the repository (where you downloaded your CM10.1 kernel). He really deserves it. You may also want to do the same on Entropy's first post in the unofficial CM10.1 thread :good: That way, you'll show your support and appreciation .

What Do you mean by "keeps restarting" Bro, Is it stuck on the bootanimation?
If your phone doesn't get pass boot animation and reboots, then there's only one way to fix it. Your personal files and data would be gone but I'm sure it's backed up with your google account. Watch this and follow the instructions. Installing a stock firmware using ODIN. Hope it helped

Are you currently using a stock rom or a custom rom? Anyway you can solve this problem by just flashing back the stock rom using odin. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check the "Preparations" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
If your PC cannot recognize the phone, its usually the drivers. Once installed, go to recovery mode (hold power+ Home button) and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace. Just flash them from the recovery mode (choose "install zip from sdcard" and then select the zip file from sdcard).

The Apocalypse you are referring to is the custom rom that is installed in your phone. When you bought you phone, you had Samsung's version of Froyo/ Gingerbread installed in your phone. That rom is called stock rom. Custom roms are build by developers using cyanogen mod sources. Now you keep having restarts and since clearing data and cache from CWM didn't solve it, I suggest you install another rom. Now this is where you have to make a choice. You can either install a stock rom (stable, nice battery backup, etc) or a custom rom (fast, performance oriented, customizable, etc). Before you do install another rom, backup all app data using Titanium Backup. If you choose Stock rom, then follow my previous post on how to install stock rom on your phone. Now if you choose custom rom, then first we need to update CWM 4 to CWM 5.
CWM 5.0.2.6 fix for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Download the CWM 5 zip file to SD Card and reboot your phone to recovery mode (Power off then hold Home+ Power button). Now choose "Install zip from SD Card" and choose the zip file. Done! You have successfully installed CWM 5. Now time for you to install a new custom rom. Refer the following guide for all the custom roms for our device,
Know your Device:Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 ~Root~Odin~CWM~ROM LIST
For time being use any Gingerbread roms. Download it to SD Card and then reboot to recovery mode. Now choose Wipe data/ factory reset, Wipe cache partitions, Advanced> Wipe dalvik cache, Wipe battery stats, Mounts & Storage> Format /system. Now select "Install zip from SD Card" and choose your rom zip file. Reboot and you can use your new rom. Whenever you want to install any new custom rom, just follow the same procedure. Now as for the low internal memory problem, we might have a solution. But the catch is it requires a rom with init.d support (something all custom roms have and stock roms doesn't ) and an ext partition on SD Card. First backup all the SD Card data. Now go to CWM> Advanced> Partition SD Card> Size (Max 1GB, anymore and system will lag)> Swap (0MB) and wait for it to say "Partitioning done". Now download and place CronMod script (try INT2EXT+ as it is the most stable of all) to SD Card. Now again go to CWM> Mounts & Storage> Mount /system then flash the Cronmod zip from CWM. Reboot and you are good to go. Now go to Settings>Storage to see the newly increased internal memory. Here is the link,
CronMod-INT2EXT
Hope I Helped

First of all, read the forum rules in order to post your questions correctly...
There's a great Q&A Thread please use it to ask for help, this the General Thread, we must all contribute to maintaining our forum in order.
Next time, post it in the correct section, thank you for understanding it
Follow @mahithm instructions to flash a fresh STOCK rom and the next tine DON'T USE CWM 4x, it's outdated, there are several recovery systems based on CWM 5x, they're the most stable for a daily usage and they're required to flash most of the custom roms
