With all the crazyness with ICS I'm beginning to wonder if the cyannogen team moved on from the hero and we wont ever see CM9 any thaughts on this?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Not sure but we have jaybob and the others working on ics already isn't that good enough
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
With our great dev,we can
We do have great devs I was just curious on any info because the CM9 team may look at us and say too outdated for this
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
We have been outdated according to CM. They have dropped support of devices older than the Nexus One.

As great a phone the Hero is, IMO the physical hardware limitations will prevent CM9 to come on the Hero. But then again I seen some amazing port overs. I.E. - Zero Hero Sense 3.5. GO TEAM HYDRA!

When will it happen? Im not a fan of cyanogen, I've tried gb and it runs great, id just like to know if its ever gonna just be google again

As said in probably 50 other threads, aosp will eventually do it. He's using cyanogen to get everything working.
Yeah. Once he gets everything working, he'll start releasing his unadulterated, raw version of Gingerbread.
I thought everything was working?

Since nobody is under deadline, and the dev's are working in their spare time, there are 2 possibilities:
1. Whenever the Dev feels ready.
2. When YOU finish and release it. You impatient twit.

I think cy7 gb is far better than aosp gb if I'm not confusing the two aosp too much fluff. There both a little sluggish when waking up the phone. Is anybody having the same problem?

I had lag until i changed the governor from interactive to on demand. It cured most of my lag issues.

Why would you want honeycomb on a phone?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Yeah... they ported it to the nexus one, was slow and laggy as hell! No point whatsoever porting it over.
Firstly ported gingerbread was laggy and slow as well, but in fact, finally it's got fast and more efficient in comparison to the froyo. Let's hope for the bright future of wildfire.

Honey comb will not come to wildfire

No 3.0 for Wildfire.
It will be waiting for Android 2.4 Icecrème ( = Honeycomb & Gingerbread fusion as Google told).
Whats the point in having Honeycomb on the Wildfire? The screen resolution is already crap with 2.2, how much will you see and do on a system optimized for devices with high end GPUs, High-Res displays and high end CPU's?
Just felt I should share this with everyone since I don't think a lot of people know about it yet.I know I never heard of it until the other day.
Trying to.get.an idea of what others think.
I guess there has been some controversy between Blackdroid (UltimateDroid) and the CyanogenMod team over the likeness of Ultimate Droid to CyanogenMod 7. They are almost identical, however, Ultimate Droid offers far more customization and every bit as snappy. As most of you know, the CM7 Final was released nearly 24 hours ago. I obviously downloaded and flashed it immediately to check it out. Honestly, there just wasn't anything special enough to keep it, I immediately restored my UD backup.
I certainly don't want to get in the middle of any beef between developers, after all these are both phenomenal ROMs.I just know I am always looking to try new ROMs and other methods of tweakness and hope others would speak up...
Obviously, I take no credit for anything here, just sharing info...

Seems like if you read the forums enough life goes in circles, doesn't it?
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.
Just more customizable. It allows you to easily change things like themes, boot animations/sound, and system font (which might be my favorite feature). That, or the ability to add a custom message (or name/nickname) to the lockscreen.
some will prefer CM still and certainly nothing wrong with that.

Tried his work on my d1. Nothing really special. Stopped using his stuff after that whole thing happened.
People are still talking about things that went down a year ago? Wow.
UD Rom is the best hands down.
Edit: I could care less about the year old beef...bunch of whining babies. I'd steal your lunch on the playground if I could.
UD is much more stable then CM. Faster, smoother and far superior battery life. Who cares about the stale drama between the 2 open source deVs. Its all about the final product and UD takes the cake.

Just out of curiosity, are all the additions aesthetic, or are there any performance enhancements over CM7? Like the power control widgets or the lockscreen gestures and things like that.
Wow.... I think this is a record for the longest running UD thread.
For the record, I can't stand aosp roms but would choose UD over cm any day. Especially with cm7. I think cm7 took a step back with removing their custom options and adding the theme app. The only "gimik" they have on cm7 is that its Ginger Bread. Other then that, nothing stands out. The last "good" cm release was cm6 rc3, hands down. And UD is pretty consistent with their releases.
Found my problem. It was that the webpage was set to mobile instead of full size. Once I clicked on the bottom I was able to download.
Hi all,
Any logical reason why Froyo would be smoother, faster, etc, than gingerbread on my particular hero.
I have tried most if not all the variations. Fresh installs, etc.
Currently using AOSP Froyo.
Not a big deal, just curious that's all.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA Premium App
I think it has to do with the gingerbread builds not including as many graphics and general performance tweaks as the final froyo builds. I think devs are still working on overall stability first. Once it's stable I think we'll start seeing performance get better.
Aosp froyo probably ran the best on my phone to date. I'm currently using CM7 and am enjoying it, but have had a few minor issues; blank black screen coming up, though not lately, market issues and my battery life doesn't seem as good as it was on aosp froyo. Aside from that it really does run well. CM recently released CM7.02 which I put on my phone this morning. I haven't been using it long enough to notice any difference. My wife's phone still has aosp froyo on it and I may or may not update it to gingerbread.

Thanks, I was just wondering if many other people were seeing this.
Can't really see that GB has any significant advantage on the hardware limited hero. Although, it is fun to run something that was never ment to run on our phones.

Does here any chance to get HTC ROM (Sensation/Desire S/Desire HD...) or just HTC Sense (2.1/3.0) port to our great P990?
just see a ported ROM for Nexus One, a little bit missing my old phone... /_\

I still have my Nexus One
mine was gone with the thief ><
Don't know if it's possible, they were able to port itbto the n1 because iy's very similar to the desire, i think.

I think actually its ported already. Sense 3.0 .... Look in the theme section for P990
Edit; just a theme but it looks good indeed

tbh mate, dont have any high hopes for this kind of port,
HTC phones tend to be very similar (nexus1 is basically a desire) so when a new version of sense comes along, its not that hard to port it to other devices.
Porting sense to a totally different device, from a different manufacturer, with different processor, just makes it too tricky. You'll notice that the Galaxy s, (which is way way more popular than our phone) doesnt have a sense port either (after just double checking this, turns out they do have one from the 2nd of june and its very buggy alot of things dont work)
So yh basically dont get your hopes up about a sense port, with devices you tend to get a modified version of your own manufactures rom, if your lucky a CM7 support, and possibly a miui rom. If the device is very popular then you might get the odd asop rom, but for example you wont get a port of the SE arc rom on our phones or anything like that.
