Was wondering if anyone knew someone that can add my Bionics ESN to Metro. Ive been over to howard forums but noone responds. If so PM me
The Bionic and other LTE phones don't use ESNs for network registration- it's all SIM based. Combine that with the unique frequencies used by Verizon LTE and you have a phone that won't work on any other network. Sorry. :/
Weird, I can access the CDMA part just fine, ##program send. And there's a guy on another forum that has it on cricket? I'm not trying to get it all working just talk and text.

are there a way to get a bad esn bionic phone to be able to activate on a verizon network?
of course besides from going to verizon store and find out what is wrong with it then resolve the issues either by paying the amount that is due on the phone or if its a stolen product
thanx in advance for your help

Not sure exactly what you are asking.
If you are looking to put the phone on to Verizon's network with a Verizon contract/phone number - There are ways but Verizon won't help you and people on this board cannot post the information. It is illegal to.
If you are just looking to keep your sprint contract and roam off the Verizon towers there is an AllTel PRL roaming around here somewhere you can load. But some people have reported Roaming Data being applied to their account - so be ware even though you can use data while roaming without a charge. Sprint has been known to cancel contracts for too much roaming.

I would like to run my old hero on Verizons network with a Verizon contract.. I read that post and I figured since we can trick the phone in to thinking Verizon/Alltel towers are home towers.. why wouldn't we be able to run the whole phone on there network. How illegal is it exactly... phone has a clear "title" if I will. It will actually be for my father who has just switched the Verizon Thanks for your reply

Title says it all. Got an ATT refurb but I have tzones with tmobile and would love to do better then edge. I would think that the hardware would be the same and all I need is just to use a TMO modem.
I would appreciate it if someone can tell me if this can be done.
Also, can I alter the IMEI so TMO will think that I have a different device? I currently have a Nokia that I use and I would love to "clone" it so I dont start getting charged for a tablet. I am only planning to connect the tab via 3G once in a while.
Sorry no, so many threads say only 2G+voice or 3G using rotohammers switcher
Attempting to alter imei is frowned upon.
Add some money promise to the bounty for a tmous 3G+voice modem to be cooked

I think that you missed my point, I am asking only about TMO 3G on ATT tab not for voice. And the devs that do this do this for fun, $1K will not get you someone for this type of a problem as I understand that this is very hard or not possible at this point with available modes out there.
Att uses different 3g frequencies than t-mobile. I don't think there is a way to change a tab's frequencies; this is an attribute of the hardware/radio.
It would be cool to do what you ask, but you can't.

I might be way off base on this, but for the past couple of weeks I've been looking into moving onto Straight Talk for multiple reasons. (Cheaper, able to use imported GSM phones, etc.)
However, I'm not sure I want to make the switch without getting a feel for what the coverage is like in my area. With the Droid 3 being a "Global" phone, would I be able to unlock it via Verizon, buy a Straight Talk phone (with SIM card) and use the Droid 3 on the local AT&T towers. That way, I can test the call quality/3G without canceling my contract first.
I know that it's possible to use unlocked GSM phones on Straight Talk's wireless and use a non-Straight Talk phone on the AT&T frequencies.
Is this possible with the frequencies/SIM slot in the Droid 3? Has anybody done this before? Thanks!
I would love to know the answer to that myself. This Verizon bill hurts the pockets. Now, what about data?

You will not get the Droid 3 on St. Reason being is that even if you unlock the SIM in this or any Moto Droids it will only unlock for international SIMs. If you are in the US or use any US SIMs, it will not support them.
US SIM country code is blocked on the radio level. MAJOR coding is involved in lifting that block
Hey guys, I've searched Google and the forums and I couldn't find my answer. I apologize if I overlooked anything.
I'm on Verizon and I understand that GSM phones cannot work with CDMA which made me bummed out since this phone is what I really want to use. I was even planning on going to a different carrier but decided not to.
Anyway, at Best Buy a mobile associate told me that as long as the phone supports Verizon's LTE bands, I can just slip in Verizon's sim card and I'll be able to use the phone. Now I told him that I'm sure he was wrong about it and he insisted that it's a fact and wouldn't change his mind about it at all.
So basically, since the Sony Xperia Z1 supports Verizon's LTE bands, can I just pop in a Verizon sim card and everything will work?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, but you cannot simply slip a Verizon Sim card into a GSM phone and expect it to work 100%. You may get LTE but I don't believe you'll get anything else (such as phone calling capabilities and what not).
The Best Buy associate is only half right. It's unfortunate because it's guys like him that make us look like we don't know what we're talking about (I'm am employee as well).
Good luck though! At this point, Verizon can offer all the LTE they want, they can't provide customers with all the amazing phones that are available. The Nexus 5 will be another big deal breaker for Verizon customers, as it won't fully with with Verizon either.

Alright I had enough with sprint. I was trying to google this for a couple days and cannot really get a good answer. I paid the phone off. I don't care if I have to sell it to get a phone on a different plan but would like to avoid it. i got the MSL code or whatever I don't know if that is even relevant.
My question is can I use my phoneon AT&T or Verizon without issues or at all period?
From what I know, Verizon is the best bet because they share CDMA technology. AT&T uses GSM.
