all credits go to original developer
i am just posting for information of other mini user
Looks very nice, works well. Thanks
Yup, it's way better than CM7's stock dialer / contacts app. Also has Speed Dial feature.
Somehow it will FC if you're using Google Search (or search widget) finding contact, and when you try to open it will FC.
You can also download from Market for free (v45 is the latest in Market).
IMO, it's the best --- fast, lightweight, small size. Couldn't ask for more.
It's one of the apps that I must install on my phone

I tried about 9 different launchers and really felt most comfortable with LiveHome. Not only did it squash Bing it gave me options to make it as simple or complex as I wanted it. Instead of pissing and moaning about the long wait for Froyo .. I decided to make my Fascinate bearable until then.
isnt that LauncherPro?
No it is LiveHome .. I mean it works pretty much exactly like LauncherPro .. Better drawer options, built it task manager, icon manager and it will load ADW themes ..
You work for LiveHome?
No I do not
Sounds like a sales pitch to me lol

I don't run anything with a built in task manager if I can help it.

It's alright :/ Animations aren't quite as smooth as they are on LP or ADW... but the desktop transition effects are pretty damn sweet. I'll stick with what I had before.
They just took ADW.Launcher and changed it a bit. ADW EX is much better than this. Me, I'll stick with LauncherPro Plus.
google search still goes through bing right?
I installed the apk posted in another thread .. I think it tells the Google widget to route to Google in the browser .. not sure .. but it works ..

Um...huh? That's like saying the Ford assembly line is producing Chevys. Google search is Google search.
And btw, why did the OP need to use that specific launcher? As far as I know, any launcher other than the stock Touchwiz one will allow to put the Google search widget back on your homescreens, as soon as you remove the Bing apk file and install the Google Enhanced Search apk that was ripped from the Vibrant ROM. At that point, the search softkey and voice search is all Google again, with any launcher other than Touchwiz.
The only other problem is that the search function in the stock browser still uses Bing, which no launcher will change, but there is a de-binged browser apk available as well, or you can install a third party browser. There are many browsers that are infinitely better than the stock one, regardless of search engine preference.

I really like nitsuj17 lists that he has made for roms, kernels, and themes and thought I would start my own.
To begin with I have gone through several of the first pages of this forum to look for good apps to start the list off with. Some of these are apps that I personally have found to work very well and better than the stock apps.
Please post any apps that have to do with rooting, replacing stock apps i.e. (chomp sms, launcher pro, or live home), or flashing. Please do not post games and entertainment apps. I will probably start a new thread for those kinds of apps later.

Definitely Tasker.
Also: BLN (Pro), Desktop Visualizer, QuickPic, TiBackup.
Titanium Backup
ROM Manager
I personally do not think that desktop visualizer is that useful but that might just be me. Tell me wether or not y'all think I should include it in the list.
ADW Ex should be listed under launchers.

I think it's indispensable for custom themes. Personal preference I guess.
You could also add xda premium app

ha rom manager is such a fail
I would agree except for the fact that it makes it easy to flash themes, roms, and kernels without having to go into clockwork mod. If it did not have that I would regard it as useless.

emmc music, use doubletwist, or similar to fix for now, no true hw acceleration, and a popup when downloading from market about file size.
Hmmm ok I'll try it out, hopefully the calendar shows this time. I tried the MIUI.us one and didn't have a calendar

i've been working on that, it's been a lingering issue. but on my last 4 boots with install it's been there.
Just loaded it on and everything works as it should. Even put Apex on so now I have either MIUI launcher or stock launcher!
Although I'm having problems with root permission and the keyboard doesn't do as well as correcting like the AOKP ICS build
**Sorry didn't see the post about the SU flash...I'll try that**
Just thought I would put out my findings so far on this version:
Cons:
- After putting on the SU flash it seems to have helped with the root permissions. Root Explorer crashes on me when I open it, it asked for root permission and this FC's.
- The keyboard doesn't recognize words like the typical ICS keyboard does and puts the red line under normal words that you would use. Even changing keyboards it still does it in the messaging apps and things. Not sure if it's a translation thing or what. Like in notes I have "one call for scheduling" for some notes I took and all four of those words have red lines under them.
- Notes and a few other things aren't translated to English, still is in Chinese even though I have English set as the language.
- Autobrightness doesn't seem to work the best, it stays pretty dim after the screen goes off and back on.
Pros:
- Battery life seems to be good but I haven't charged completely to test, I just charged a light charge and has stayed at the battery level for about a hour now and I have used it slightly so it does appear that it's good.
- Not really by your doing but it's nice being able to use the Apex launcher with the MIUI launcher so you could have the vanilla ICS look as well as MIUI look without changing roms.
- Gallery works fine on my end as well as the external music files. Doesn't read the internal but that's already posted I believe.
Hope that's not to long of a post and provides some good feedback, Calendar showed up this time on this flash and everything else seems to be working like it should
Is the fixed ROM a flashover and is there a way to get rid of the "download size requires WI-fi"?
Hey Mark, loving this rom so far. Seems really solid and am looking forward to the next update.
Was the 1x4 miui music widget removed? I'm only seeing the 4x4. Any way to get that back?
Just rembered: the Facebook sync, under accounts and sync, doesn't work. When you choose it, it just returns you to the account list.

If the widget was removed it was because of china, we should see it again soon though. This week they reintroduced their "custom music" app. For facebook sync, ICS removed it, you will need to download an app from market, i use http://tinyurl.com/7snt9sw from market. It syncs all contacts and pictures. Just add account from settings>accounts and sync

I am still trying to disable that, a workaround is Downloads app> settings> disable notification

Thanks for the info! Surprised to hear ics removed Facebook integration. I'm a sucker for that kind of baked in goodness, but luckily there's usually an app for it.
Thanks for your work on this rom.

Hi there.
I've installed the Paranoid rom and I love it!
Coming from iPhone the keyboard was always the problem. Simply wasn't smart enough.
But the keyboard that comes with the paranoid rom is amazing. Has spell checker and very smart auto correction.
But I have one problem with it. It doesn't have the Korean keyboard.
So I installed the Korean keyboard from the Google play but they keys are not displaying properly.
Any way to have Korean keyboard?
Thanks
Try different DPI for the keyboard. (Paranoid Settings > Hybrid Settings > List of apps)
I'm using Samsung Chinese IME for Nexus which also working fine in Note, and it is included Korean Keyboard. Maybe you have a try. Google "Samsung_IME_for_GN.zip". Flash it thru CWM. If you can't find it, send me your contact thru private message, I will send it to you.

Unfortunately, this does not seem possible because touchwiz and its associated components all use different libraries, different frameworks, and various other complex components of the Android operating system that Samsung customizes. In most cases, its not possible to take a system apk from one ROM and just drop it into another ROM, and expect it to work. It may force close, or exhibit some other strange behavior. Sometimes, you can get a developer to change and modify libraries or frameworks to get the app to work, but it is a tremendous amount of work to convert these kinds of things. All this being said, if you want an app from a different ROM to work, it doesn't hurt to try to push apps to /system, as I've had some luck pushing apk's to system, fixing permissions and getting them to work fine. Hopefully, you can find an app equivalent to the Touchwiz SMS app that works just as well, if not better!
Thanks for answering so fast

I just use the stock Cyanogenmod SMS app included in Tonyp's CM10.2 Build, but I've heard good things about Handcent available from the Play Store, and I believe the GO Team has their own application for SMS too, but if you want to see a variety of options, I suggest googling for a list of messaging apps and seeing which one you like best.
