Hypersense v2.6 Lag and Instability - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I flashed hypersense v.2.6 and have major stability issues. It lags and freezes at least twice a day. I am coming from cyanogen mod 7 ,which gave me no problems. I followed the directions exactly, but I am wondering about the blackrose stuff. Is there anything else I need to do before flashing the ROM if I am coming from cyanogen and didn't have blackrose before? I am using the NAND version.
Thanks!

[Q] Fresh Hero 2.4.0 Market errors

I have a rooted Sprint HTC Hero with Fresh 2.4 flashed and ever since I flashed the ROM I have had major market issues. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a patch or market upgrade to fix this problem. I've been researching for a week and finally decided to post about it.
is there reason why ur using fresh rom? If not, I'd suggest using the updated roms such as (jaybobs, cm7, sense 2.3.3)
As for your question, what kind of problem?

[Q] Cyanogenmod most stable nightly?

Hi all,
I am still running stock 2.3.6 but I am thinking about unlocking my phone to run CM. Anyway, I have been browsing through the dev CM7 thread and found that there are a lot of random reboots, lockups and other problems in the 7.1 stable release. I am thinking that installing the an older nightly perhaps would give me a better experience. Which nightly would you recommend?
Thanks.
I think its not good to stay on
a single nightly because there are few tweaks with every new nighty which makes it better from last one.
Anyway I recommend you to try cm7.1 rc1 before trying nightlies
For some time.

On my N1 Cm 7.1 is stable to but playing videos in flash full screen causes so many lock ups, i hope cyanogen would release a minor update for it

I'm one latest nightly, build 227. Very good and stable for me.
Just make sure you do a clean wipe including system partition
when coming from a different ROM.
Thanks guys! Do you know of a bug tracking page that lists all the bugs that CM7.1 currently has?
Thanks.
Not a bug tracker, but I find this page very useful and visit it daily to see if I want to upgrade to the latest nightly or not: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=passion
Looks like the latest nightly is marked as 7.1.0.1... #227 as baseballfanz said. Maybe that will fix the problems you mentioned... however, I will note that I've been running 7.1 stable since the day it was released (nightlies before that) and have had zero problems at all. No lockups, no reboots, no problems at all no matter what I do with it...
7.1.0.1 is a maintenance release for a few devices. The N1 was not included in this list. And most of the reboots and instability issues with the stable release are resolved when people perform full wipes of the phone. It has been rock solid for me.
Thanks guys... I have installed CM71 Nightly 231 last night. It was going smooth at the beginning but I got stuck on flashing Amon_Ra recovery. For some reason my phone wasn't taking the CM themed version but the original version installed fine.
First problem after flashing the ROM and gapps was Market wasn't downloading apps for some reason. I think it was because the phone was reinstalling all the apps at the same time and it just couldn't handle the load. I had to install the apps one after another and that got through it.
The phone rebooted itself when I played a video for the first time, but it's been working rock solid so far. Now I'll have to figure out how to use S2E!
Thanks!

[Q] stabelest nightly?

Dear community sweet community of knowers-all
Which is the stablest nightly of them all?
I should just grab newest?
Sent from my windows phone while driving to pick up my touchpad:-D
Im using aokp milestone 5. I like it! In terms of stability all the recents rom are pretty much the same. Some just have more features.
Newest. They have all been stable.

I was running AOKP M4 for a while and it was pretty decent... upgraded to M5 and had some issues.
Switched to the latest nightly of CM9 (0430-nightly)... and love it! Best wifi experience with an ICS rom yet and performance is top notch...
i done screwed up
guys,
I think i've been following the guide to a T, aside from using a nightly .zip instead of the alpha they mention, . .. butt ...
After it's all done I see Moboot. I ask to boot cyognemod and it shows cyogenmod logo for about a minute then it just reboots and goes into the Moboot again.
Have I missed a step?
I have tried and checksummed (before running the script) both 28 and 30 CM9 nightlies, the latest ones. Everything looked fine until I tried to turn it on after the script finished.
Any ideas?
*EDIT I need to read more, and discover ACMEInstaller2
p.s. cwm works, yay.
Thanks for your help!
Yaaay!
ACMEInstaller2 was the culprit. I hope the guide is updated somehow to mention that if you're trying cm9 that you should use the different script.
yaay thanks for the advices. it's nice to know they don't release nightlies that would have regressed a previous version!

[Q] ICS --> hot reboots! Who else?

Hi,
Anyone else having problem with hot reboots? Had texas, bcm and aopk on my phone but never had a solid running system.
Right now I've got aokp which only gives me one reboot right after start.
What is your experience?
I have been running BCM for days now, without any issues. Check your partition formats, start with clean flash and see what happens.
Formated the old sd card via gparted. For the new one I used 4ext recovery...
And I always make a full wipe before I flash a new rom.

Which version of AOKP are you using? May 30? It seems that the dev has confirmed the software and hardware problems. He recommends to use 1 or 2 version back. I am using May 27 version and didn't have hot reboot issues often. It rebooted sometimes.
I got the same issue with setcpu v2.4 running with these ICS rom's. I upgraded setcpu then things are OK now.

I also use the May 27th version.
In the meantime I tried every other ICS Rom once more (texas, BCM and Miui V4). Also flashed those roms with the kernel aopk uses.
So far aokp is the best one.
Hopefully aokp will be continued soon.
@phhuang
Good idea. Gonna try setcpu.
What are your settings?
I had the same reboot problems you have with BCM older than 12/06/09.
Since then, no particular problem, except the governor falling back to userspace after each reboot, hence quite laggy.

[Q] MIUI 2.3.30 on Nexus One...

Hey guys, I've been coming to XDA-Dev since I started getting Android devices. You guys have helped me hack my Kindle Fire to have ICS runing on it, my Nexus 7 running a custom ROM, my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 running a custom ROM and now my Nexus One is running a custom ROM.
Now I've tried all sorts of roms on my Nexus One. The stock rom doesn't cut it for me but I don't want to deal with the camera bugs with any form of ICS or JB rom that's running... I then came across MIUI. Never heard of it but took a chance. I LOVE IT. Problem is, it is constantly force closing apps. I have Blackrose installed, I have Mounts2SD running to my 8gb class 10 sd card (parition 1gb). And it's ok at first but within a couple of days it starts to have all sorts of problems. Pretty much everything has failed from Gapps to the mms service, it's locked up while taking images too.
Any ideas on what might be causing this problem? I've used ROM Manager to fix permissions as I read that it could be the problem. That fixed the gapps problem but I'm still getting the odd force close, sometimes where I have to remove the battery to get it to boot again. I've tried QND MIUI 2.3.30r4 and I've also tried the official 2.3.30 from the MIUI site but they both seem to have the same problems. I'm currently running the latter.
Thanks in advance!
A little late but....
If you are still using this phone you can check out my guide here...

Running flawlessly over a year and a half or so. I've made minor changes and adjustments which can be manually done.
