Hi, I had a broken screen so I was replacing the AMOLED screen on my N1, but when I removed the motherboard a little black squared shaped rubber plastic just felt, I didn't watch from where it came but.. now that I'm reassembling the phone i cant find a place for it..
Its not the Mic rubber, its more like.. a pressure plastic for a ribbon cable or something, theres one like this on the Case/Digitizer assembly (facing inwards) that is on top of a ribbon cable (digitizer one?).
For this one, i cant find a place can you help me, have you seen this rubber
Thanks

Sorry about the awful quality pic, the other plastic is located at:

i know my english is not very clear... but if anyone need help.. i would be glad to help.. just PM me..
after a bad flash my last option was to make my own JIG cable.
i just used 3 100k resistors 1/4 5% and my usb cable that came with the phone
i removed everything from the usb connector ( including that metal protection )... to make the way easier as possible to the circuit board...
after you gently remove all rub and glue from the plastic cover of the connector, you should easily identify where to solder the resistors ( i've tried without soldering.. and it WORKS ! you can just hold with your hands instead of soldering but you should use a rubber glove, since the skin affects the resistor and its much harder to keep holding the resistors on the correct pin.
here goes some pictures of how it looks like:

Anybody messed around with this? Seen if it would be possible to attach a custom bezel? Maybe something smaller and more black or glossy to appear more like a typical tablet?
I don't see any reason for it not to be able? As long as you fabricated the exact design just with different material?

Ya, I could see how youd be right about this, my only concern would be if any of the hardware is attached to the front bezel in any way.
check this picture
It looks like the metal parts might be held by screw but the bottom plastic piece where the N button is seems to be plastic welded on. I can't zoom in far enough to tell for sure.

Hi, this is my first time posting here since I got my Nexus, so excuse me if it's in the wrong section (I felt this belonged here more than the Q&A since it has to do with a case).
Anyway, there have been markings made by my case on my Nexus 7, and since it's made of some soft rubbery plastic, I have no idea how to get rid of it. Pictures attached (The wedge beside the "n" in nexus, and part of the case where the wedge pops up from).

Any ideas?
If they're compression or abrasion marks there's not much you can do. If it's a loss of gloss, a vinyl protection product might help, but might make it slippery.
If it's that unsightly you could look into one of the many vinyl skins found on eBay.
Right end of the speaker grill is pushed farther inside than the left. It is very hard to notice this flaw through naked eye but when grill reflection is looked at from an angle like 45 degrees, it is visible. Below pic is taken with my phone resting at an angle on TYLT over my desk. Speaker grill is reflecting white ceiling light but right end of the grill is not as it is below glass surface.

Yah thats definitely not right. Mine is perfect. You have a defect in yours. However, since you can barely see it with the naked eye I wouldn't worry about it.
Mine is not like yours but the grille is not centered, theres a very small gap on the bottom of it and small pieces of dirt get in between sometimes
Time to get some warranty service on that.
Hello have you ever tried this screen protector?

I've tried one similar (if not that actual one). It was pretty awful. Felt like plastic, scratched immediately just wiping it after application.
Transparent ones will lift at the edges if they go all the way out and it'll look awful, just fyi
had the same, waste of money, looks awful, feels like compressed plastic bag. payed two months ago 9€.
at the edges you will become small breaks in it and it looks like your phone screen is broken at the edges.
if you want a gadget that makes your 450$ phone look like trash you should buy it.
