Hello.
I was running Semaphore with JVT. Now I'm on Hacksungs ICS builds it says it's using JVK? Is this correct? And should I flash JVT back?
Kind regards

It means that you are using JVK baseband (modem), it's default modem on hacksungs ics. If you want to flash different modem, go to siky_dude's cm7 modem thread. If your signal and battery life is good, there's no need to flash another modem.

Thank you for clarifying that. I will leave it be then. Much appreciated and thanks left.

Hello Together,
When i Flash Stock JVK with Odin i cannot use a custom kernel.
Example speedmod-kernel-k13d / k13c
Then comes only the I9000 logo and nothing after
So i can only install the Stock JVK with Odin...
It is a known problem?
regards Roger
OMG....
Speedmod is for Froyo
Maybe you should have to read some Threads about JVK

But in the Miui 2.3.3 thread is also the instruction for the speedmod-kernel-k13d / k13c....
With witch kernel must i then flash?
Thanks for the reply

The speedmod use for that is just to get into cwm to flash the cm7 initial tar. Suggest that you read the post in its entirety, not stopped when you see speedmod being mentioned.

You propably didn't read the MIUI thread...
Speedmod Kernel ist just to have CWM. You have to flash CM7 Kernel while installing it.
You can either use CF 2.4 kernel or Supercurios hacked JVK kernel.
Or stay at the stock kernel.
the only custom kernel for XWJVK with cwm and ext4 lagfix is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=665&order=desc&page=2
download tar and flash with odin
Try DamianGTO Kernel for Gingerbread

Guys , iv'e noticed that my battery'd draining on JVQ modem so, i would like to change it to JVR but even after using the jetpack rom tool,SGS kernel flasher the baseband remains same it says "XXJVQ" . Any ideas on changing the modem??
I9000 on JetpackROM v4 + Semaphore v 1.7 JVS.
Not sure, but doesn't Odin support only modem flashes too?
So, if you download eg. Stock JVR rom from samfirmware and flash only PHONE-packet, it could work.

Yes you can. I have JVR Surface rom with JVS modem. Get it from Perka's filestash.
Second that: I have stock jvr pda with jvs modem and 1.6 semaphore with no problems so far.

Hi
I'm on onecosmic rc2. 11.
At first my battery was fine but now it's dropping 1% every 4 minute.
I Wana flash back to gingerbread
Which firmware should I flash
2.3.6 (xxjvu) : or 2.3.4?
And which kernels can I use with them.
What is a deodexed and odexed fw?
Sent from Gt–i9000 using Tapatalk running onecosmic ics rom.
You might find the battery drain goes away if you reboot, but ICS will have teething problems for the next few months.
I was using Simplicity on ginger bread. It's an odexed stock ROM, pre-rooted and worked great out of the box with no hassles. Their latest is based on JVU.
Rebooted but still it drains... Fast
And cache problem is frustrating.... In ics

You can flash any 2.3.6 (JVU for more features or JW1 for official/more tested)... No need to go back to the old 2.3.4 anyway!
If you wanna flash any GB i remind you to also use .pit file and re-partition (ICSSGS and CM9 do not use rfs file system).
Kernels: you can use all the GB kernels such as Semaphore (i use that one), talonden, Galaxian + much more...
Deodexed and odexed: see this!
i have personally used xxjvu, very stable rom
don't worry abt the kernel and stuff
just put the three firmware files and pit in odin and flash

you could always try RC3.1 ICS

I think JW1 is much more stable.
hi all
is possible to use cyanogenmod 10.1.3
with semaphore kernel 3.2.0 and modem Radio-CM7-ICS-KK4-Captivate-signed.zip ??
I am interested in KK4 modem
CM10.1 is Android 4.2.2 based ROM, Semaphore 3.0.0c is the right kernel.
Default CM10.1 UGKG3 modem works well in most places, why you want to change it?
I see mobile data works better with KK4 modem, in my country.
OK, I never had to change a modem, so wait for someone with more experience to answer this question.
Thanks for your comment

Changing modem is probably the most basic thing when it comes to flashing. Your ROM/kernel and bootloaders don't depend on it.
So flash away, you can flash whichever you want and as many times as you want, all it affects is your connectivity.

Ok tanks, i test kk4 ICS modem.
I should mention that you gotta flash the right modems zips. I believe it's the I9000 zips for the cappy (unless it changed since i last used my cappy).

I flash this file Radio-CM7-ICS-KK4-Captivate-signed.zip and works perfectly
