I guess a rooted phone means that it was s-off... otherwise I don't think its possible to root... and as I mentioned I have a rooted phone with stock rom... didn't I??

Erm. It doesnt mean you must be s-off to be rooted. S-on is possible too if you flash superuser...

i was under the impression that as long as you flashed the right RUU they couldnt tell if it'd been rooted and therefore not void your warantee???

ah, think i may have to 'lose' my phone and claim on the insurance then if there's a problem
What's ruu if you don't mind if I ask?

RUU is basically the stock firmware they (HTC or carriers like t mobile) put on the phones, its a exe program instead of a zip file.
