semaphore green colour flash problem - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
i am using stock 2.3.6 rom with semaphore kernel on Galaxy s I9000...
when the screen times out, it goes off with flashing a green light every time.. any solution to this?/
THX

Q: When the screen goes off, a green flash appears. What is wrong?
A: This is a side effect of Voodoo Color. As a workaround, try to reset to default the settings related to color in Voodoo Control application or increase the gamma values.
for more;
http://www.semaphore.gr/faq

I found that by using the crt-off effect the flash is either gone or it doesn't have the time to be seen.

Lowering the lowest brightness level

Does anyone kno of an app that can lower the lowest brightness level? I tried screen filter but i dnt like the tint it uses n it kinda distorts the quality of images and videos shown. I tried googling stll no luck. The lowest brightness level is still brite at nite.....
Have you tried turning off the Auto brightness feature and then manually reducing the brightness in the display options?
If you turn off Auto Brightness in your Display Settings, you can run your finger left or right along the top slide-down menu bar (the one that displays time, battery, signal, etc) to decrease or increase the screen brightness.
Srry i meant lowering the brightness lower than the lowest level limit. The screen is still to brite for me at the lowest level at nite.

Use this software from Android Market,
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.brightnesslevel&feature=search_result
Android Os will report you zero brightness when you change it in settings, but still it has 8% brightness enabled, so the above software will help you to pulling it back to original 0%
Even better than that, I remember supercurio (iirc, or was it hardcore?) hacked the SGS kernel to enable to an even lower brightness setting ages ago. However I haven't seen this hack integrated into any kernels for ages (unless I'm missing something and it's already there)
Hardcore's Speedmod K13E kernel for 2.2.1 has a super low brightness level
Try the dimmer app, it is better than screen filter, not as grainy.

any oficial rom with lowest minimal brightness?
thanks
I'm sorry to bring this up again...
I'm testing out the last build teamhacksung's CM9 and it came with a bunch of options to optimize the brightness.
Although I've been experimenting on this options for quite a while, the brightness is very irregular. At one moment is very dark and for no reason the brightness comes back up while I'm in total darkness.
Do you have any idea of what's causing this?
I get this as well. Also, the screen will auto-dim after a short time of inactivity. How to control this?

Also, I have a friend with the same software as me, everything the same and his Galaxy S gets much darker than mine. Even when we have them side by side.
Try Semaphore's kernel on THS ICS. It has its own auto brightness that works well and has a Dark setting.
That said, I still use screen filter on top of that in darkness.

Semaphore's kernel disables the BLN for me.
What I did was...
In the definitions put the dim level to 6. And then I added a button in the notification bar for brightness and I gave it the automatic and dim options.
That way when I'm inside doors I put it to dim and when I'm outside I change it to automatic.

In the same ROM as mine? Can you tell me where are the configurations for the BLN after installing the Semaphore kernel?

glitch kernel and voodoo color

Hi
I cannot post this in android development because i am new and dont have 10 posts, so i am posting it here
I was in galnet miui 6.0 with vor kernel and today i flashed glitch kernel.
After that i realised that the screen color was a bit orangish..... i thought it was because of voodoo color and i opened the voodoo control app and tried to disable it... ie i selected the color profile as original.... and then screen v1 gamma hack to reset to 2.3.3 defaults.. but no luck...
is it something that i cant change?
thanks in advance
You can try setting it manually with screen RBG multipliers in voodoo control app.
Orangish will means the screen colour is too warm. Fix it by increasing blue values while decreasing red and green till one that fits your screen.

[Q] Voodoo Color Settings

Hey guys, what are your color settings ?
The only settings i found so far are for the vibrant models and it seems that they do have a yellow tint instead of blue tint.
It's mine:
RGB:
R: 3609817920
G: 3691626880
B: 4100671360
Gamma:
R: -35
G: -39
B: -42
maybe it's wont show real (normal) colors but i like it ;-)
Thanks. Looks good
I have one more question (sorry )
I figured out that the Kernel has Speedmod Color and Voodoo Color togheter. My problem is i messed up the voodoo color settings a bit.
RGB Reset look okay, but what are the default settings from the Gamma section? 2.3.3 Default looks a bit too bright. Alt. settings is the closest and punchy has too unnatural colors. But the problem of the last two are that the are too dark in lower brightnes modes?
Maybe you can tell me which files are to delete to have the default voodoo color settings which come at a clean voodoo color kernel install?
When i flash another kernel without voodoo color it goes back to normal but when i reinstall the semaphore kernel the colors are switching back to that what they was before the flash. (i tried that with settings colors to almost green only)
I use this settings, looks good for me:
Screen RGB multipliers:
- Red - 2065674720
- Green - 2086127040
- Blue - 3078059840
Screen v1 gamma hack:
- Red: -16
- Green: -14
- Blue: -9

I think that values stored in "Voodoo Control" app. maybe wipe data will work!
BTW, if not you have to try reset in voodoo Control app

Thats the point. When i wipe data all data will be lost or not ? I dont want to reinstall everything, just reset the voodoo color settings to get back the values that come with a clean install. and reset in the voodoo control app ist possible. like i said, the rgb values can be resetted but the gamma dont have a reset, just three options which noone looks like the default
1. Screen v1 gamma hack :
- 50 red
- 53 green
- 44 blue
2. SRB multipliers:
Red ="2300875360"
Green ="2300875360"
Blue ="2709919680"

I know Just a way!
Try a kernel that not support voodoo color (like 'Darky Core' if you are in Samsung's Rom)
and you'll see no touched colors.

Yeah thats what i'm talking about. When i switch back to DarkCore i have the original colours. But when i switch back to semaphore for example the colors get back the settings that i left before i went to darkcore. it seems that they are saved in a system folder but i couldnt find anything related to color when i'm on darkcore. maybe i'm gonna do a full wipe and factory reset to get a real clean rom also. after that i flash semaphore again and write the default installation settings down. i guess it would be the best way.
nevertheless, till that everyone can post his optimal settings for himself down, thanks so far

I have the exact same problem. I installed semaphore for the bigmem, but I hate the colours. Voodoo colours may look better at higher brightness levels, but I always use my phone at minimum brightness, and the colours on the semaphore kernal are pretty lousy. I downloaded Voodoo Control to adjust it, but I still can't get the colours on stock kernel.
I no longer use the Semaphore kernal as I'm not on a Samsung rom at the moment, but as far as I can remember it required copying a script to the init.d folder and rebooting. I'm sure it'll be mention in the OP of the kernal thread.
You could try adjusting it to get any colour you prefer. Since, you know, you have all the options in the world.
Or you could buy an iPhone if you want less options.
i tried adjusting it but it was not like stock ones and i also h8 the green flash when screen goes off

You have the ability to adjust it to any colour you want, but you couldn't find the right one.
... the Apple store is that way, buddy. It sounds like you have way too much freedom.
why u keep talking about apple and iphone? i dun like ios and i dun want to buy one
No one know how to disable it??

Voodoo - colour profile set to original.
Screen rgb multipliers set reset.
Screen v1 gamma hack reset to 2.3.3.
This will give you clear speedmod neutral colours.Sorry you cannot get stock colour on custom kernel butt this will bring you close to stock.

[Q] Chroma LED and ROM question

Phone: Nexus 6 AT&T
Rom: [ROM][5.0.2][LRX22G] Chroma – 02/01/2015 | Native LED Notifications | Layers Support
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/rom-chroma-01-11-2015-t3000003EDIT
Question 1:
The Chrom Rom comes with LED support. I was wondering how to completely disable the LED. I made the LED color black in all the settings and then disabled both battery and notification LED options. When I connect a charger to my phone however, a green LED light turns on. How do I disable this if possible.
Question 2:
Which ROM would be the fastest and most stable. The stock kind such as Chroma or different ones like Cyanogenmod etc.
Thank You
-----------------------------------------------
Solution to Question 1:
You need to purchase franco.Kernel updater ($4.99 USD)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel&hl=en
-->In this app, it will give you the option to turn off the battery LED and allow a multitude of other features which make it worth the purchase.
Solution to Question 2:
No such ROMs exist. In order to make a ROM faster, use a custom kernel and oc it. All nexus ROMs are stable.

question 2.. no such roms exist. to make a rom faster, use a custom kernel and oc it. and all nexus roms are stable, unless the dev really messes up. all source is available for nexus devices, so no need to hack anything to get it working. since all source is available, all roms are stable.

Toggle the off button for both or set them both to black and it won't show the colors. It's as simple as that.
The green led is by Franco kernel. If you set it to black and leave the led on, it'll override Franco kernel.

I have attached three pictures, two screenshots, and one webcam camera upload to show the issue.
If I am understanding what you are saying regarding the options overriding the FRANCO KERNEL LED then is it possible the initial rom installation was incorrect?
Thanks
In franko.kernel updater paid you can disable the charging LED by changing it to 0 in the kernel options from the slide menu.
Thank you so much for those who have helped. The answer was however what @Beauenheim posted. I paid for the app and then disabled the given option. Thank You.
I will post the solution to the original post I made in case others want to see the solution.
