Boot loop after trying to update to 2.3 with Odin - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

y helo thar :3
Okay, to sum it up, today I bought a used Bell Samsung GT-i9000M and realized that the owner never updated his phone to Gingerbread (2.3) from his current version of 2.1. Basically, I did the same procedure as in THIS (EDIT: I think I just realized that the stops shown in that link, having next to nothing to do with updating your phone to 2.3 - kjawekjawen - post still stands, of course) post.
In Odin, everything seemed like a success, until (after Odin labeled it as a success apparently) my phone just started rebooting and rebooting, not getting past the first booting screen (that first black screen showing Samsung i9000 logo, I think).
I can still access the download mode, but my phone just doesn't boot up anymore (gets stuck on this same logo and just keeps restarting 'til the pigs come round).
I'm just afraid to do anything with my phone right nao. Consisder the fact that I am pretty much a noob in this whole hackz0r, elite department of the internets and cellphones. I would love (no homo, hurhurhur) for somebody to assist me through this, because I don't want to end up turning my cellphone into something resembling a clay brick.
:3
Thanks in advance for whoever could help me.

no one knows?
nevermind everyone i got it using odin
Just reflash use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818439 or you can search for odin one click by DG.
Odin. You will be fine. Just search and read. Be careful what you do and try your best to understand what you are doing before you panic.
You were getting fc on cog so instead of reading and re -flashing you panicked then flashed a 2. 1 back up over 2. 2 with voodoo lagfix active. :O it is not the end of the world. I do hope you have a PC and not a MAC. Odin will flash you back to stock but you will need to search and read. Good luck
Captivate
Cog 2.2
I think I'm in a similar boat... tried to flash back to JH7 after getting tired of froyo versions that I didn't like. Now I'm stuck at the AT&T screen and nothing works... no matter what button I hold while I power the phone on, I get nothing. Any advice?
Update: I think I may have something here... found a guide talking about JTAG stuff that suggested holding both volume buttons while plugging in the USB cable... seems to have gotten me to the "downloading..." screen. That's a plus.

[Q] Captivate Splash Screen on Vibrant Boot

Hey all,
Please forgive me if i've missed this somehow, but i searched and searched and no luck. Here's the dealio. What happened is that on my first ever flash attempt to flash our amazing phone, i somehow grabbed the captivate stock rom and flashed via odin.
Yeah. Imagine how that soft brick felt to a noob after mustering the courage...
Well in any case, after a little research and experimentation i moved on, and flashed again and again, but that AT&T WORLD PHONE splash screen (basically the first thing you see after reboot or power on) right before the correct T-MOBILE VIBRANT splash screen just won't go away!
I've flashed several times, after reverting to stock, or over the current rom, and the damn screen just won't go away
I can't say what files are left behind by residual after that first idiotic Captivate flash to cause this, or how they affect my phone. After multiple roms i think we all know there there are no 2 Vibrants alike! So i experience some reported issues and of course all sorts of others with any available here...
If anyone can give me a hand with this issue or point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. This community is the best!
Thanks in advance,
K~
AFAIK youi have to update bootloader code
try to RE-install 3Button fix for Vibrant - it might replace the logo with Vibrants...
P.S: I am not a pro, if you brick it... then

[Q] URGENT : Galaxy S won't go past GT-I9000 Samsung screen

After i uninstalled RyanZA's One Click Lag Fix v1.0, apps that were installed AFTER uninstalling OCLF cant open, vibrate and Force Close. now i tried rebooting my phone and guess what the phone wont go past the Galaxy S GT-19000 Samsung screen. It will then keep repeating the same screen on and off every few minutes(I can tell it's trying to boot up but it just can't). Is my phone bricked? worse still i cant get into recovery since it is factory disabled and i don't think I can access it with Android SDK since the phone needs to be turned on into debugging mode! what should I do to fix this and avoid visiting the service centre? I can't visit the service centre because i have been grounded and can't even leave the house, and my parents are gonna kick up a fuss if they find out I messed with the phone they spent so much money on for my birthday gift and now I have to trouble them again. Sigh
Help
Hi,
Ithink you haven't completely bricked your phone. your bootloader must still be intact
you should flash samsung stock firmware or something like darky's 9.2 resurrection

[Q] Another Rooting Question..... VZW (CDMA) 3.3.4

Alright guys. So, I rooted my galaxy tab initially when I first got it. Well after a while it got messed up and was stuck on downloading the gingerbread update and pretty much locked up. Well I took another look at it yesterday. Got everything down, flashed the stock VZW rom and powered her up.
So, now doing some looking the only thing I can find to root it is re-flashing part of the rom (using oden and CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS) . Tried this (about 4 times) and when I try it. All I get is a white line, samsung logo, restart. No recovery mode, No nothing. Except download mode.
So. Am I just stuck to far up my own ... to see the solution?
Ive searched. And Searched. But cant find anything
So, if someone can point me in the right area. It would be great
Just thought....this might be in the wrong area. If so. I apologize.

Help! Razr i stuck on boot (again)

So here's my story: my phone was JellyBean. I didn't tinker with it, didn't root, just used some launchers. It upgraded to KitKat. I kept using it, even though I liked JellyBean better. Then one month ago it froze and stopped responding even to physical buttons. I managed to restart it, but it wouldn't go past the intel logo. Somehow I got it to go past it and give me like two seconds on before it would freeze and become unresponsive again, so I got to enter safe mode (all following instructions on the internet, which buttons to hold to manage to get into safe mode). Once in safe mode, I deleted every app that had been recently updated or installed, one at a time, trying to turn my phone on each time, until I finally deleted facebook (that enourmous blue monstrosity taking all that internal space), and the phone seemed normal. I re-installed the other apps I had uninstalled, then one day later, it froze again. Now it wouldn't go past the intel logo. Only then I gave up and used RSDLite to re-install the firmware - BUT! The firmware I managed to find was JB, but I had been wanting to downgrade for some time, anyway, so I unlocked the bootloader and flashed JellyBean. And it worked. I was proud. Then one month later, today, it froze again. I can do the same procedure, and lose all my data again, but I fear the problem will remain unsolved and it will freeze/crash/explode one month from now. Can someone help me figure out what my problem is, or give an alternate solution to try?
TL;DR:
my razr i was stuck on the intel logo screen, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed JB, it worked, one month later it is now stuck on the WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED screen. Please help thank you.
