Notebook can't recognize bionic - Motorola Droid Bionic

Need some help
I just bought a bionic and want to root
When i connect the bionic to my notebook it doesn't detect it but it'll charge up the phone
I also made sure the debug mode is checked but still nothing
Any ideas
I'm on 5.5.886 also

Do you have the motorola USB drivers?

Which one?
I already install the 1 from forever root
Are there's another 1 I should install too

The motorola drivers from the moto website should be sufficient. V 5.2.0

Got that installed and it still didn't reconize it

make sure you have usb in mass storage mode the 1st time so it will install drivers, and you can try reboot of pc after driver install

Also if you have ADB setup on your computer you can open the command prompt, type "adb devices" and see if it shows up.

Trouble connecting to PC via USB

Has anyone been able to get Bionic to connect via USB to a PC? Mine won't recognize it even after downloading and installing the Motorola Driver installer from their support site.
I have no problems. Have you rebooted the computer and phone just to make sure? And did you select the Mass Storage(USB) option?
I tried a different PC and it worked fine. Must be a problem with my laptop.

Get the latest 5.5 moto-drivers here... USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode, attach it to your PC.
Then use this to root.. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/63864500/motofail_windows.zip (for windows pc only)
Extract the entire zip file, and execute “run.bat"
That worked, thank you so much

Rooting .906 update

I recently received a replacement droid 3 for the one that stopped working. The replacement has the .906 update installed on it, and the one-click root tool that I used on the old droid 3 that I had fails. When it fails, it says that I might be using a version where the exploit has been fixed. Is there another way that I need to be doing this to get root?

Use the droid 4 motofail root application

When I run the droid 4 motofail, it immediately says "the system cannot find the specified path" and says press any key to continue. I have the 5.5 drivers installed, i'm connected via usb, in charge only mode, with my original usb cable.

Try going to either factory recovery pwr + x and doing a factory reset ory go to settings, privacy and doing a factory reset then make sure your phone has usb debugging enabled..
When you connect your phone to computer make sure you set your phone to charge only then try to reroot..
I was able to get it to root using the motofail program from the Droid Bionic forum. Rooted the first time like a champ. Thanks for the help though!

open device manager (start>control panel>Hardware and sound)
find the Droid 3 or Unknown device, and in its properties' Driver tab click Update driver
select Browse my computer for computer software
select C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\Mobile Drivers\Drivers
if that doesn't help try downloading my copy of win 7 moto drivers
unzip with 7zip or other file compression utility and move to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\Mobile Drivers\Drivers
and you can try uninstalling current installed diver in devices driver tab uninstall option

I tried all that and when I click update drivers it says there is no software available....but on my reboot menu there are a couple options that let my computer recognize the device in rsd lite but unfortunately I don't know how to use them ... there is a mkz flash an sbf flash and a fastboot flash can I do anything with those?
you downloaded my drivers file, unzipped and moved
uninstalled device and driver in device manager
disconnected d3, reconnected
selected install driver, browse for file, and navigated to new driver folder
if that doesn't work, i have no other suggestions
