4ext type recovery on x8? - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Don't know if many of you have seen the 4ext recovery.. but it's pretty nice..
All touch based UI.. if you're like me and like things to be nice, even something as simple as the recovery menu then you'll understand why I'm asking for something like this.
Does anyone know if anyone has or will make anything like this for the x8?

[Q] AmonRa Recovery for Droid???

Ok. So I got CyanogenMod 5.0.8 on my Droid, and it has an option for Apps2SD.
Only problem is, I need to create the ext4 partition on my SD Card, and I can't figure out how.
I can't find an AmonRa Recovery for my phone. I currently have SPRecovery.
Am I missing something? And is it possible to flash a new recovery image?
Or is there some way on how to partition the card manually? I've seen some things about SDParted Script and running Parted manually, but don't even have the first clue on how those work, or if they even work on the Droid.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
I was running cm 6.0 and had no problems with apps2sd. Never even had to partition the card. As for other recoveries, I've been using ROM manager to flash recoveries. They have SP and Clockwork. Just make sure you maually enter recovery by powering up by holding x. The reboot into recovery has never worked for me.
Honestly Amon-Ra? Dude you are retarded. Amon-Ra isn't for the Droid. I think he only does HTC devices -_-. The two recoveries for the Droid are SPRecovery and ClockworkMod Recovery. Clockwork is the better one. You can partition your SD card right from ROM Manager.
Um... I'm retarded?
You just flamed me over a question I had. That's retarded.
Sorry that I'm not as experienced in this as you and that I don't know these things. I'm brand new to Android. Coming from WinMo, and I was ALL OVER WinMo. Not a Dev, but definitely a Modder. So gimme a freakin' break. Sheesh.
And yeah, I was using SPRecovery and switched over to Clockwork. It just seems better.
And, BTW, eff CyanogenMod. I was reading through their forums... and ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I see are various bugs and issues... crazy different ones from all sorts of people. Most left unresolved. I'm having some FC issues with .acore, which I have no clue what that is, but if it's what I think it is (which is one of the main system OS/Firmware files), then I just need to dump the ROM altogether.
I was on SimpleRom... and I liked it... but it just got slower, and slower, and slower. I was using Launcher Pro Plus, and I think that was part of the problem, but I'll be damned if I just don't love it. *sigh* I really really really like "Sense" (I put it in quotations because it's not really.... DUH) on my Droid.
I like having Apps2SD... and don't wanna lose that.
SimpleRom + Launcher Pro Plus DEFAULT & DEBUGGED (as much as possible) + Apps2SD = Happy Me.
CyanogenMod == the ****! Like good ****!
@dymic Are you sure you cleared all the cache in recovery? I have never had 1 issue with CM... well one.. my battery lasts forever..
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Yes. I'm sure.
I switched over to Simply Stunning. And it is... Simply Stunning.
It's fast, it does Apps2SD, and I'm running Launcher Pro Plus, and it's perfect.... so far.
We'll see what it's like after about a week.

[Q] Making a backup of complete rom for flashing back (MAGLDR)

hi
don't know if this is the correct section, or if i should have posted in the nand development, but i'll try here
i love my current rom, but wanna try something new. so i'm wondering if there's a possibility for me to make a complete backup of the rom (like a dump or so), which i can easily flash back.
magldr 1.13 ist installed, but no clockworkmod or something like that. i read that when flashing clockworkmod recovery your rom will be wiped, and i don't wanna lose my current setup.
i'm aware of titanium backup, but as far as i know it "just" backsup applications, settings, contact, etc., not the whole rom.
do you have any hints for me? that'll be great
thank you very much & have a nice day
ahh sorry friend..

I dont know if this is possible without Clockwork(Recovery)Mod Im sure somebody here may know something about possibly doing it but, they will probably tell a way where you'd need CWM installed, or you wont get an answer of how for sure to use something by the time you want to change, it's addicting lol

[Q] Touch Enabled Recovery

Will there be a touch enabled recovery for the G1????
no, i highly doubt it
No skilled active devs.. there's only a few devs that might occasionally mess around and create a new rom for the g1 but thats it.. not much kernel or recovery devving.
bummer!!!!!!!!! i was kinda hopin for a TE Recocvery :/

cheers DL now will get back to you how it feels
Thats one im sure there are more to try out there? hit me up ppl
look at this thread by lucastan, there is pretty large list of all custom roms, mods, etc.
Tried MV1 but since he saved that file with his personal overclocking aktive it wont kick for me. tried adding setcpu-safemode but still no luck....just goes to S-E startscreen and reboots
can you get into cwm?
if yes, go into cwm, connect your phone to pc, mount usb storage, download this file manager for cwm, flash it. it will open a manager. go to /system/lib/modules and rename x8oc.ko to something else (for example xx8oc.ko). now you should be able to boot your phone
ps: if you can't see anything in /system, exit aroma file manager, mount system for recovery and run it again

is a new recovery needed to root?

Hey guys.. this question might be very noob but I will throw it anyway.. otherwise you dont learn.
I'm wondering if installing a new recovery like TWRP in order to root.. I ask this because as I've seen all these recoveries pretty do much the same.. install things from zip, wipe, etc.. The real Thing is that I wan't to skip using ODIN because I don't like it.. I use Linux and I don't see any way of installing it...
Thanks in advance.
