[ROOT] Gingersnap Root Utility v2 - LG Optimus Black

I just found that while doing some researches.
It's a modified version based on Gingerbreak. I didn't try, but It could be helpful when we'll get Gingerbread officially since Blackjack may not work anymore.
Gingersnap by Androphiles

[Q] HOW TO ROOT JVQ ROM?noob here

Hello i'm new here in this forum and new in the flashing/modifying world..it is my first time to flash my galaxy s -19000 using odin..and it is successfull
i'm on JVQ stock firmware now..thank GOD i can use my phone without lag
i only rooted my phone once using super one click and i did not add any mod after that because im so scared to flash it because back then i dont have the 3button combo recovery/download mode..i fix that with the help of adb..and that gave me the confidence to flash my phone now,.
my problem now is how to root this JVQ ROM because i need to restore my apps using titanium backup and it requires root access..
any method or guide is very much appreciated..thanks
try flashing the Darkcore 2.8 kernel for jvq...

I gave you root instruction based on your private message question, didn't you succeed?
can you pm on how to root it. i lost my root when i was messing around. i have the Ramad`s version of jvq now.
yay hmmm i'm a little hesitated to root it for now because i'm still checking the other users of jvq for there feedback about this rom...maybe i'll just wait for a while until the official firmware JVQ is release.. so far i'm happy with the stock rom..no problem minimal FC.. compared to FROYO 2.2 which is my older ROm this JVQ ROM is 10x faster..so far no lag..some of my problem right now is my old applications like asphalt and dictionary its not functioning it said file is corrupted..maybe because i installed titanium backup and my old application is not yet restored then i try to reinstalled it again from the market..and is not working properly so far the asphalt and dictionary only i haven't tried the other apps..
seems one of the most common problems with cf-root is that there is a bluetooth and/or wifi issue. I was hoping that the Gingerbreak APK would work on my stock JVQ, but it refuses to do anything (hangs on running exploit and then just disappears)...
Easuest and in my opinion safest way is. Use CF Root. Just search it on XDA. Look for the right version (XXJVQ is right on the bottom) then unzip the file. Open odin. Click PDA and find the kernel. Then out ur phone in download mode and start. It takes literally 10 seconds as kernels flash quikly. MAKE SURE THAT REPARTION IS NOT TICKED.... Hope that helped

Best stable Froyo firmware for indian SGSL 9003

can u tell me wch is most stable indian firmware...
Im getting camera hang in my DDKC1 and XXKPE firmware..i donoo wat to do
plz help
I used to use DDKB2, and it recently got updated to DDKF1, both are quite stable!
Haven't had experience with any other Indian firmwares.
DDKB2 is here and DDKF1 is here.
Note that DDKF1 is an update to DDKB2 (INU). The disadvantage of the update (DDKF1) is that there is no compatible CWM from Skin1980 for it (yet).

Did you flash twice. Its a must. Follow the instructions properly and xxkpe works very well.

Wave 2, 8530, Bada 1.2, DDKA1
Xxkb3 & xxkpe
The Best Stable Froyo version will be XXKB3,
but if you flash it right, the Gingerbread version XXKPE will be stable enough, actually better than any Prior version of Android.
Agreed with the above poster, xxkb3 is the best froyo for any user, but the newer GB is way better than froyo IMHO!

XXKB3 is the most stable one which I have seen so far. It also fixes the GPS issue which is there in XXKB2

Can't be done yet...
This thread can be closed.
So shuld i wait for v20n update btw m running on v20b
Doesnt matter which version of gb u are running, since noone can be rooted until now... at least not by everyone. Every now and then, someone makes it, but hardly anyone can reproduce it. So either root ur v10x version, install clock work manager and then flash a repack of v20n, stick with a stock and unrootable official version, or wait with the update until there is a new rooting method.

If you use this ROM V20q, you will have to try, if the update tool works. I find those LG tools are working randomly.
If you cannot update and want stock ICS on your phone, restore with Paul O'briens Smartflash, then you erase all traces of rooting your phone!
Cheers
Mike
On the other hand, will the stock ICS rom be as good as something like the hybrid Temasek rom anyway.
If we had the drivers for the video chip (and HDMI?) it would be perfect. As it is it's still better than stock in every other way.

i seriously think ics wud be better than the customs...atleast they will be bugfree and as u know stocks roms r always better user friendly then the customs.
Im using temasek rom and symbiosis kernel at present. Will be back to stock gb in a few days
