Has anyone had the B&N 1.4.1 OTA happen to them? I know 1.3 was a disaster for my wife and I, which I have only recently recovered from thanks to you guys. But has Armageddon actually occured?
1.4.1 loaded on my wife's nook and she hated it. It had a lot of problems connecting to the book and app store. I just put her on CyanogenMod 7 and she likes it a lot more

I manually updated, then rooted it. I quite like it, but I'm not a long-time B&N user. I previously ran CM7 on this thing since the day I purchased it in July 2011. All the B&N stuff works, as does the Market and sideloading. For now, at least, I'm staying with 1.4.1.
Was yer swife's NC rooted? Was she at 1.2 or 1.3? Thanks for listening. BCNU...K2CQW

My apologies if it has been posted prior. I did search.
For some reason,.. I love running the Kindle app on my Nook. ;-)
Vibrant Axura 2.2 Voodoo 5 JL5 via the XDA app
I run the Kindle app on the NC too. Who knows when the app will be updated though.
I run it too. Wonder what the tab version will really do different? As is it scales up good now, I thought maybe the market sent me a tablet version. Wishfull thinking, I know.

I thinki speak for us all when I say; What?
Nothing you just said made any sense.
Please don't drink and type.
Yes, no, or maybe.
Maybe???
I think the OP wants to know if they can run apps from the Galaxy Tab on Nookie Froyo. (or not)
p.s. just noticed this is my first post. I just recently became active on here when i got my Epic and now Nook. This site is great, keep up the good work.

+1 I think that is what he wanted to know.... The Tab's launcher and email apps fail on the nook's stock firmware--we think-- because they require froyo. I'm GUESSING someone will get it going, but can't speak first-hand...
yes,i have been using slide it and I'm still getting used to it,haha. but anyways, thanks for all your help I guess well just have to wait and see
Will anyone please post the APK for the USA today app for tablets? I believe Xoom's are the only device that can download the app since it's honeycomb+.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.usatoday.android.tablet.news
I'd like to work on getting it to run on a Nook Color running the Honeycomb preview and/or have it for when the Honeycomb official source is released.
Here you go.

I just stumbled on this today on the market from my laptop. Clicked to install from the laptop and it showed incompatibility with my tab (VeganGingerRC1/pershoots OC kernel). I thought it was just the gtablet, but after seeing this doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas? Thanx!
I get error parsing the package. Running Cyanogen 7. I got the cnn tablet version to install.
Thanks

I've been having issues with the XDA app while using Froyo or Honeycomb from the SD card. The application frequently force closes.
Also if I try XDA through the web browser, I can't use the search function. I click search, the drop down dialog box appears, but as soon as I click on it to enter text, it goes away.
Seems I can't really use XDA from either app or browser on Nook with Froyo SD or Honeycomb SD (though both worked with a rooted Eclair).
This expected behavior? Any stability differences if I were to flash Froyo to the internal SD (using a class 6 SD card currently)?
NC XDA force closing
I am having the same issue and I Froyo and Homeycomb flashed it to the internal memory....
I am too... I even paid $.99 for the Premium edition to see if it would fix it.(and because I use this site enough to give back a little)
It always crashes for me whenever I sign in to my account
otherwise it seems fine.
Same here. As long as I don't sign in I'm good. If I sign in the app bombs out.
Ditto everybody
I sign in, open a hearted forum, FC.
CM7 nightly v14.
Using XDA Premium on Nookie Froyo 0.6.8, on the eMMC (Flashable thru CWM).
The FIRST time I opened it, there was a force close.
Since then, not one issue--signed in or out.
Same here. I ended up just getting Tapatalk (which is what XDA app is based on) and it works great with XDA as well as many other forums. No FCs at all.

Is that the paid program which costs about 23hkd? or did I miss something in my market?
I am running CM7 v13 and I get a force close after signing in and clicking on a thread. Droidforums app works great though both built off of tapatalk

Ok, purchased the Tapatalk app. All is well now.
Bought tapatalk. Everything is fine. it also provides a long list of pop forums to choose from. Furthermore, it turns out that 23 hkd is about 2.8usd which makes it a decent deal.

I don't mind shelling out another buck or two on Tapatalk, but I'd also love it if XDA Premium would work on the NC
Anyone have any suggestions on how to solve the FC?
I've run the Fix Permissions, uninstalled/reinstalled/rebooted etc. No love.
I'm running the emmc CM7 23 nightly with the Dalingrin 3/16 OC, ADW Launcher.
I'm having the same issue with the xda premium app. Works great until I log in and then FC as soon as I try to do anything. It worked fine running 2.1 but I recently upgraded to phiremod 5.1 and that is when the problem began.
I guess there's no solution for this? I'm also getting this error with a few other apps after flashing to 5.1 that were working before.
Still worth the update but frustrating for the few apps that will not work now.
5 dollar bounty for a fix.
Same issue, phiremod 5.1 and latest OC kernel as of 3.16, Soon as i try and open a thread or close the app if i signed on, i get a FC.
Premium app or not, this thread seems like alot of, ME TOO, or USE tapatalk..
i want to use the app i paid for, any dev's have any suggestions?
I will gladly send logcat if needed, i just want XDA app to work on my nook color!
Please... i put a 5 dollar bounty on a fix.
killster
So, just use Tapatalk instead of XDA, or install Tapatalk then run XDA?
I've been trying to find information on how to get Zinio working on my NST. I have googled and looked everywhere for information on this. Does anyone have it working out there? I've tried to download Gingerbread versions of Zinio, but they don't seem to work. Am I missing something, or am I just out of luck?
The Zinio website states that the Android app is not compatible with the "Nook device". Presumably they mean one of the tablet forms, so if it won't run on those, it certainly won't run on the NST.
rooted

thanks for your reply. However, Zinio is compatible with rooted nook devices. I have a nook color and a Nook Tablet both of which have been running Zinio just fine. My question is about gingerbread compatibility with Zinio. I wonder if anybody has experience with that. Since my nook simpletouch is rooted, I thought it might be a possibility. the website is accurate about non rooted devices, but not rooted ones.
Gingerbread compatibility seems irrelevant, our NST isn't even close, we're running 2.1 Eclair.
