Hi Guys, im not sure if there are still pinoys here, but anyways i was wondering if someone from manila can guide me where and what stable ROM can i use i am familiar on how to flash and root and all that but when i ran though all the threads about Custom roms and Kernels i am kinda confused now im afarid that if i flash a rom like CM7 on my O2X it'll not work the RIL and Baseband Version kinda made me confused. i am not sure if i need to change them or what tomake it work
I just recently updated my phone to 2.3.4 GRJ22 i am on V20d which the BB is 1035.21_20110725 any advise and any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance Guys!!
Joe,
Well I'm not from manilla but I can help of course
Uhm the latest CM7.2 kangs are really stable so if you want to use cm then I think you should flash them right away. As for stock I think guestes rom will also do fine since I've heard many positive reviews about it.
In the dev section you'll also find many threads about flashing the right BB etc. So follow the threads over there and I'm sure that you will get the right BB for your phone.
As for RIL, everything becomes even easier. Just install the GetRIL app (needs root access) and just install one of the many RILs over there.
I hope that everything is clear now

your baseband is just fine, i have the same..
and get ril will tell you if you have the optimal ril.. i have v10d europe open, but as long as everything works, there is no need to change it

I'm currently using MIUI ROM 2.3.7 (build MIUI-1.12.2)
baseband: 1035.21_20110405
kernel: 2.6.32.45-cyanogenmod ([email protected]#1)
Curently having network breakdown issue. might have a few breakdowns in a day, sometimes don't have. do i need to upgrade baseband or kernel? can anyone help me please. i'm having a lots of appointment daily as i can't have breakdowns so often.
I don't understand what you mean by breakdown? Is it complete loss of signal? If it is then this happened to me in the galnet's latest weekly and ICS build. I don't know about the ones from miuiandroid or miui.us, as I haven't tried them. But if they share a similar base, then theoretically they should share similar problems unless some post-release fixes were added like those of galnet.
To recover, these worked for me most times:
reboot
manualy trigger network registration
I'm back to CM now. It's most stable and usable for me.
ya, totally loss of signal. its bored to keep rebooting all the time. i dont feel like using the basic android layout/UI rom. MIUI is nice but got some issue. sigh.... anyway, thanks for replying. anyone else would like to help me out???
Well I used 218 bb before, jumped over to 823 and matching ril. No more breakdowns.

This is good news. Will try. Where'd you get 823?
I got it from temaseek's media folder

You can get it from Temasek's mediafire link. Huge thanks to him..!
But flashing this is little tricky. You need to extract the file, then flash the .fls files begining from the biggest file to the smallest - in this order.
flash R375_SIC.fls
reboot the phone
flash AENEAS_FW.fls
reboot the phone
slb.fls
reboot the phone
psi.fls
reboot the phone.
I use smartflash to flash basebands, that is available in the same link.
Hope this helps.

Lol...great minds and that...!
Thanx Divyan Im at work so its great you give a proper reply
really thanks to u.
No Problem, guys.. Glad that I could be of some help - so little comparing to what we get from XDA.
In the meanwhile, I did test MiUi 1.12.2. too. I used to get this problem of MiUi goes to airplane mode at times.
Then I have flashed Owain's Tweaks. I did make a difference. Phone did not got into airplane mode anymore. Above this I have flashed ironkernel too ( seeking better stability - with undervolt settings of -25 v using pimpcpu).
This combination worked good for me for a couple of days without any issues. Then I jumped back to CM7 Kangs .
You might give this combination, if you feel like.
I'm using 1.11.4 and been having a few issues recently with loss of signal and a reboot was the only thing that fixed the problem. I found that I had a mismatch of baseband and RIL. S I used getril from the market and everything seems ok now. Only had it on for a day so far but it's been fine...
Helllo. I have it the same problems with the network. My phone was losing signal on all roms, cm7, miui, modaco, until i flash the baseband 07 25 and everything works well. Tomorow i will try the miui rom to see what happens.
divyan, i crash my set now. miui did not work on my 2x. tried flashed cm7 and kang. installed but did not boot up after 10 mins each. i downloaded LG RIL and GetRIL.
LG RIL did not mention if my RIL match with the baseband or not. but GetRIL says my baseband does not match with my RIL. i did follow your steps to flash the 823. not working thou.
now in CWM i can backup but i kenot restore. its automatically unmount the /system. darn. i think something wrong with my 2x.
seriously can u teach me how to redo all the stuffs?
i really like miui!

i have the same problem, with EVERY rom.
currently on 0725 baseband, V20L october version, nothing different: i got signal loss once-twice a day.
tried BB 0208, 0315, 0405, 0602 as well.
I 'll have to try 0823 with 4 separate files, as suggested in this thread
My phone always goes into airplane mode (by itself) after a reboot and a few hours of sleep time - im on cm7 with 725. Once that's done I just set the airplane mode off and it stops disconnecting from the network...
currently running on cm7 night #204 with 0823 and 0208 RIL. been good so far but got issue once i flash ironkernel. dunno why.
Hi all
I am just getting a head of myself here but I am wondering if I can learn before I start flashing my LG O2X.
I am in Australia and I am wondering which firmware (full stock) is most preferred at the moment?
I read in the firmware sections and it seems as if the not all stock firmware are very stable (Some people are complaining that it sucks out of the juice badly).
so any suggestions (links will help heaps) is much appreciated.
any link to good tutorial to flash the firmware is also greatly appreciated.
Thanks
sorry for the newbie questions

Cheers guys!
I am still confused with all this term of base band and firmware used for LG o2x.
On my Samsung if i want to update my stock firmware i just need to go to samfirware download the latest one . Open ODIN as the flashing application, put the downloaded firmware package and press start.
Is this the same process in LG?
Do i need to root first? Where can I download the latest firmware package for LG?
Thanks again guys

Hello!
This depends...
If you only want the latest firmware provided by LG - just use the LG Update tool, follow its instructions and click start - wait a few minutes and voila.
Only working with an unbranded phone of course - in case of a branded phone you might have to wait for the OTA from your provider.
But you might have to wait at least another 6 Month for the next update from LG - last Update by LG(in Nov.) was to Android 2.3.4 and still has some bugs - ICS(Android 4.0) is in the making but...
If you want root, a custom rom(I would say CM7 is a lot better than stock rom - my opinion) with all the latest updates(i.e. Android 2.3.7 may be an ICS-build for X-mas ) and/or an OC/UV kernel it is a little more complicated.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
So... it sounds like the CM7 has won lots of hearts.
If I want to update mine (stock unbranded), which tutorial should I use?
since I am completely new to LG, any step by step (from the beginning) tutorial will help greatly.
I am after total stability and good battery - I am only using camera/video recording, playing videos, musics, skype/fring/viber and also some small games like angry birds etc.. good GPS lock is a bonus.
So any recommendation is greatly appreciated
Thank you

Frist things First - backup all you date before you start because the phone RAM/ROM will be wiped!
If your phone comes with Froyo (Android 2.2.2) you could go right ahead and start after the ***-line
...if your phone comes already with GB (Android 2.3.4 – look under setting on the about page!) you need to smartflash a CM7-compatible baseband (i.e. 0725 for Froyo or 0823 as I use it).
Guide to flash baseband – only needed if your phone some with GB(Android 2.3.4)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
A German guide with downloadlinks…
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/lg_op...-lg_optimus_speed_p990_aktuelle_baseband.html
If you try the newest baseband on this page (0823 – 23.08.11) you must flash all 4 files in descending order of filesize – the others are single files which are easier to use.
***************************************************************************
The easiest way would be to root the phone with SuperOneClick.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/superoneclick-updated-to-2-2-now-features-zergrush-exploit/
…and then use Clockworkmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745) or Rom Manager to flash the latest KANG, since there aren’t any up to date Nightly’s because the CM7-build bot server is broken.
A Guide is in the Wiki pages for the LG P990…
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/LG_Optimus_2X:_Full_Update_Guide#Method_via_ROM_Manager
You could use either one of these KANGs…
Rusty:
http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/gigglebread/p990/
temasek:
http://www.mediafire.com/temasek
koboltzz:
http://www.4shared.com/folder/9Y9RYzQA/_online.html
Don’t forget to flash the latest gapps for GB 2.3.7 (right now AFAIK version from14th Dez.)– you can find them on temaseks-mediafire account.
Just place KANG-Files and Gapps on your SD card before you enter boot recovery.
At the end you need GetRIL or LG RIL versions from the market to update you RIL because the preinstalled baseband of you new phone is almost probably 0725 and CM7 comes always with 0218 – just download GET RIL and hit the install button…
Now you should be good to go.
If you are even more adventurers you could look into the ironkrnL for more performance/powersaving – see my sig. and/or look in the ironkrnL-Thread at xda and flash an ironkrnL after the gapps.

So “only” about everything one could do with a Smartphone…
Latest ironkrnL-builds with 00 or 32 ramhack should do it(stability and good battery) - but you might need to set the ring delay between 3000-4000 in the build.prop found in /system (you need a root-capable filemanager/editor i.e. ES Datei Explorer (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop or Rom Tool from the market). I had a problem with the preset delay of 225.
Hope that helped...
Hi,
I am from India and a newbie to Android world.
I have a LG stock ROM(optimus 2x p990 Gingerbread). The factory version of the ROM is LGP990AT-00-V20e-ESA-XXX-OCT-28-2011.
The baseband is 1035.21_20110725
After taking a backup of image of Stock ROM with CWM,I have installed Gueste 2x v3.6 Hybrid Revolution, with symbiosis kernel.I have found it to be stable with good GUI
I have observed a heavy battery drain, with RIL v10d(Europe)
I am planning to flash 218 baseband as suggested by stefan.
But before doing so, I want to clear my doubts and have few requests
1) what are the best settings for a good battery life? I am switching to 2g networks when not surfing/downloading.
I am also using lots of apps, for my kid, who uses my mobile for a hour or so.
2)In case I need to go to Stock LG ROM, where can I get the original baseband, as I do not find it it anywhere, so as to to restore the CWM backup.
3) Stefan- Your ROM is wonderful. I have got few requests. Can you please port the stock LG Messaging app, Contacts app & "Backup & Restore" app .
Thanks
I am also from India.
I am using 0725 Baseband with v20d(Asia) RIL.
I dont have any battery problems whatsoever on this baseband and RIL combo. I get a straight 1 and half day on moderate usage (Few call and texting, 2g browsing for an hour or so, some music listening)
Battery drain wont be always due to baseband. It may also depend on some of the Apps you use which run in background.
Check the battery usage from the settings and see which program is using most of your battery.
Press "THANKS" if this helped.
Use the search function instead of starting a new thread. Please close this one.
Thanks Shane582.
I am sure that the battery drain was due to wrong bb (725) and RIL(v10d Europe).
As I am unable to get the LGP990AT-00-V20e-ESA-XXX-OCT-28 version of KDZ, I had posted the mail here, hoping that some one may help me.
Anyway this is not required now.
Also since this was my first post, I couldn't thank Stefan for his superb ROM( Gueste 2x v3.6 Hybrid Revolution )
found at the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1464986
Also I do a search properly, hoping to find a solution. Hence till date for the past one month, I was able to flash CWM, 5 different ROMs and come to a satisfactory solution for the issues faced.
Excepting for some rookies, I found the forum quite helpful, for sorting out all kinds of problems
Thanks everyone.

Hello guys,
I am brand new here,as after 3 years of owning a X8 i decided to jump to other ROM,because i was bored of the simple design of his menu and i was so frustrated to stay back with android market when my friends had messenger for facebook e.g.,i had to refresh again and again my opera..and much more apps and games i would like to play. So,i decided to start searching for new ROMs,and i found MIUI,but i wasnt able to find a stable version to dl for my phone. Then i found JB Mini Project,I succeeded on installing it on X8 but there is one thing that wont work in every version of JB i have tried!THE WI-FI!It is really frustrating for me!I am so begginner to those things, but i understand that its not only me that will have this problem and that developers might be working on it right now(I am 3D designer and i know about beta versions of things, even I have to release again and again my creation because of a bug),but i really hope someone had this problem too and found a fix on it..I tried a fix i found in forums with Titanium Backup, but nothing...

What wifi problem do you have? Unable to detect Adhoc connection?
Have You tried this Kernel + Rom ? (All JB rom is unable to scan adhoc wifi. Except if you make changes to the source and compile it yourself)
If you want to surf the internet but with not using wifi and using a cable, This is a Post for you.
use back stock ROM (just kidding

Maybe the rom + kernel combination is wrong or the rom is just being buggy.
I just personally liked nAa's work because he release a stable version of every product.
If you want to change into the recommended rom that I just told you;
1. Flash the latest kernel (06)
2. Follow instruction on the kernel post. (/system wipe at recovery before flashing a rom & etc)
3. Flash the rom. Followed by the GAPPS
4. As it said, this is my recommendation steps. I do not guarantee your satisfactory

hey i had same problem with jbmp when i used jbmp kernel but when i flashed with nAa jb 05 kernel it worked fine..
Hi all,
I have just flashed CM7.2.0 which I downloaded from the official CM website....the flashing everything went fine but it seems unstable signal wise, high battery useage and also trying to turn on and off Airplane mode it sometimes wont work without a reset of the device. I was thinking possibly a Baseband issue?
The only thing I have no idea what baseband I am meant to be running on Gingerbread CM7....I was on the stock LG ICS rom before flashing. It says my baseband is currently 1035.21_20121130
Can anyone recomend the correct baseband for me?
Is the one above left from when I was running ICS?
Am I correct in thinking when flashing the baseband stays as it is....it doesnt come with the new rom?
I am sorry for all the questions but need big help.
Thanks
Tom

Flashing a custom ROM cannot change your BB. Your BB presently is the ICS BB and ICS BB are always not supportive of the GB systems and communication.Your battery drain signal, drops, maybe because of that too
So, you need to change your BB to a GB BB as the CM7.2 is gingerbread stuff.
Changing the BB is only possible with smart flash or KDZ method. Please check tonyp's Baseband thread in the development section for all the answers for BB.
Hope this helps
