Modern Combat 3 .99 cents for 24 hours - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

Its available in the market for .99 cents right now, says it will end in 24 hours make sure to grab it!

It looks like it's still $0.99 for a while this morning (not sure when it started officially). I can confirm that it works very well on the Thunderbolt (stock). It's fun so far and the controls are surprisingly good for a touchscreen FPS. Here's a direct link...

I also got Nova2 (also very good) and am considering MC2 now as well.

I looks like 6.99 to me

Yeah, must be dead now -- the sale was 24 hours only for MC3. The others are still $0.99 until Jan 5 though, I think.

Just pre-ordered mine from Amazon along with Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, I'm pretty excited for it.
Any other XDA-members getting one?
No, and its not the fact that i dont like 3d its cause i can see people getting sick while playing in a car

I would if it didn't cost $250, and didn't have terrible battery life.
Sure im thinking of getting one, but only because i heard that there's gonna be a super smash bros 3D...
Solid snake also looks ok
And imagine the developmental possibilitys, it actually has decent specs.
SSB on DS would be awesome, but as others have stated, I cannot afford to pay $250 for the system then more for each game.

On-live

I don't know if any of you all have heard of this or not. Theirs this company that uses cloud gaming to let you play games on your computer (no matter the specs). All you need is good internet speed. It even streams games to your smartphone. I was playing dirt 3 with almost no lag on my galaxy s. They have a pretty decent library of current Gen games. The way it ran on my PC was impressive but the way it ran on my phone was amazing.
Its called "onlive". Just Google it.

I mucked around with OnLive back during beta, it was definitely neat -- but (at the time) the lag was unbearable. It's nice to hear it's gotten (getting?) better, though. It really is a fantastic concept..
I just started with it. I rented arkham city for 3 days for 6 dollars. I don't have that great of a PC. Dual core 2.4 ghz. The computer was bought in like 2005. But I have a good net speed. 40 to 50 mbps. I have had flawless gameplay the whole time I've been playing. If it had a bigger library it would knock GameFly out the park.
P.s. not all games are rentable. Some you have to buy at retail price and you can't play it anywhere else other than onlive.

I have a hard time with idea of paying full price for a game that I can't "keep"....

as long as you have your onlive account you have it.......... and you can play it virtually everywhere you can download the client. OR you could carry a backpack full of your favorite games and install / update everywhere ;0)
I never pay full price for games even if I get the disk. I rent or borrow them. I'm essentially using this service for games that can be beat in a short amount of time. I beat arkham city in about 2 days with some side quests. This service will get better over time.
By the way they offer great offers. During the the week of Thanksgiving they were offering either arkham city, revelations, or saints row 3 for one dollar to "own" on onlive. Also I think you get Lego Batman for free when you sign up

So don't pay full price, OnLive constantly has really good sales and giveaways. I have 17 games with them and have paid a total of about $115. Half of them were free, Deus-Ex HR Augmented Ed. was 90 cents and came with the original Deus Ex. The only game I paid full price for was Homefront and that's because it came with their game console for my TV plus Metro 2033.
been using onlive through my galaxy s2. very nice ui. games work nicely too.
.
have had an account since launch.... add me: shoot_him-not_me
Onlive would be great with full HDMI mirroring.

Loving it.

I have been playing with mine for a couple days, it is so awesome, I can't out it down. I DID start to see screen lift, because I was looking for it. If I don't look for it I don't notice it. Am not getting any creak or other issues. If screen lift gets to a bothersome point I think I'll just fix it myself as I don't want to part with an otherwise perfect unit!
So initially I couldn't get Whatsapp to install, device not supported. Thanks to XDA I did a backup from titanium on my phone and a restore from titanium on my N7 and it works beautifully! Did the same for some other apps and they work too! Love my Nexus7 10x more now.
Also I got an app called tablet talk. So good! I can now SMS/call using my cell nu,Ber from my tablet! This may be part of why I can't put this thing down.
Its buttery smooth except for some apps which are obviously not optimized. This actually made me more forgiving about those same laggy apps on the Note.
GPS/navigation while tethered to phone is sick.
Love it love it love it! Who's with me? Sent from my Nexus7 of course.

This may not be sent from my Nexus 7 (hey, some of us love our laptops), but I certainly agree with you. I've been loving everything about my Nexus 7. The clarity of the screen, the build quality, size, Google integration, Android itself, etc... I'm overall quite fond of the setup. I've purchased a couple accessories, most of which I need to get yet, but I'm particularly antsy about the seat bolt tablet holder for my car. I'm hoping I can have a solid mount point for the Nexus 7 for use with GPS.
Personally, I'm growing more and more disinterested in Google Navigation since they don't offer true offline maps (sorry to say, but their "offline area download" they offer is a terrible joke). I'm testing Sygic right now and so far I love it. Sygic (logically) allows you to download maps based on state, so I can download what I need via state instead of downloading by a specific squared off area like in Google Nav. Don't get me wrong, I love Google Nav - but when I was in the boonies in North Carolina for 30 minutes driving blindly waiting for a signal to get rerouted, I quickly knew true offline is what I needed. At 30 bucks for the USA version, Sygic is hard to sneeze at. Food for thought if you ever find yourself in the NC boonies like I did.
Aside from that, I'm absolutely loving everything about my Nexus 7. Me saying this, I find, is rather intriguing too - because I've been a long time tablet hater. But hey, now that there's FINALLY a logically priced tablet that performs beautifully, it's hard to ignore it. :good:
Thanks for the navi tips. I also need to get something to put mine n the car, can't wait. I always hated tablets too and this device insta-converted me!
I just got my Nexus 7 yesterday and I haven't been able to put it down. Its a fantastic device.
I do have a little screen lift as well but nothing too bothersome. I can fix it myself later on since all the other things about this device are perfect.
I couldn't not stop using nexus 7. I think I'm addicted to it

I bought one a week ago and had it a couple of days when I brought it to my GF house for the weekend. Once she used it she wanted one... I gave her mine since it was around her birthday, and I had my new Acer A700 to play around with... Well two days ago I ordered another Nexus when they came back in stock at Google since I missed it so much. It's the perfect size for gaming as I find my 10" tablet too unwieldy to hold. It's a great little tablet......
Just for an indication - the Google Play store says I have 71 apps installed.
That does not count the ones I have tried and deleted.
I got mine about two weeks ago. It has pretty much replaced my PC for reading mail and news.
Certainly keeping me too busy to get in trouble.
Good for you guys.

Same here. Never would've thought I would like the 7in. Form factor so much compared to 10.1in. Prime. I love it. Its great size for gaming. Just finished playing some online deathmstches in nova3. Now browsing xda listening to Pandora(Faithless channel) in background. Plugged into my lil surround sound system. Sounds great.
The nexus 7 experience gets even better once you unlock. I'm running stock rom with custo motley linaro based kernel with CPU OC @ 1.624 Ghz and gpu OC @ 520mhz. So much butter it clogs your arteries lol. Google/Asus has a winner here! Like Ipad, it just works. Jellybean on Android is the best! Might stream a movie or something shortly. Either through web browser or maybe Crackle.

Hooked on the Nexus 5

I love the nexus 5 LOVE it.. Didn't know how much till I got my OPO. Now the OPO is nice but its still in the box.. Kinda big for me. I wish Google would just hear the pleas of many and just release a refreshed N5!
why did you buy opo? you should have stayed with nexus 5, it's not that old, and it sure isn't outdated and slow yet
Well the plan was to sell my N5 when I got my OPO but man.. Can't bring myself to do it. Lol..
Why the OPO? Its a damn good deal. Really is..
Yeah, your right.. The performance is still there when you compare the two phones. I mean phones now are out of hand! Lol.. I really don't have a need for over 2gb of RAM.
You have when there is a massive memory leak
Yup, the N5 is still a great phone. I plan on keeping mine until next fall, when hopefully a new refreshed N5 will come out. If not, I will consider something else running stock android. (Moto X 2015 ?)
The OPO was the phone that made me fall in love with the N5 again. I sold my launch day N5 way back when because I was using my 2013 Moto X more. I bought the OPO, didn't like it, and ended up selling it a few days later for a decent profit. I then bought another N5 with that money, and couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm currently rocking a 2014 Moto X and an iPhone 6 and I still use the N5 a whole bunch. Over a year later and the N5 is still blazing fast. Talk about an amazing device.
I love my N5 as well. Came from a Galaxy S5.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I never use a device so long as the N5, more then one year now. I have a brand new opo here, it was for my wife but it's to huge for her and i was never interested to use it self. I keep my Nexus 5 beside my N6 and sell the Opo.
The N5 is after one year Still an excellent choice.
I returned the Nexus 6 and glad to be back with my one year old Nexus 5!
Sounds like my kind of thread, I got a opo and its too large, I thought I would do fine but I missed my Nexus 5,
I got an opo as the nexus6 would be too big but they both are,
My opo is more laggy than the nexus5, that alone killed my experience so I sold it and went back to n5.
The nexus 4,5 are the longest devices I have owned,
Would easily buy a nexus 5 with updated specs
yup!
Yeah. My N5 runs sooo smooth and with slimkat on it.. Forget about it. I love this thing
I haven't bought any other phones because they would be a side grade at best. Let's see the what this year can bring.
Same here mate... I bought the OPO but it was too big. Right now there is no good successor of the Nexus 5 on the market...
I went into T-Mobile the other weekend and took my first in-person look at the Nexus 6. I personally think I could live with it's size. But, like many are saying, my Nexus 5 is still like a brand new phone. There's no reason to replace it yet. And most likely, that's the reason Google felt there was no reason to refresh it last year.
Own both the n5 and the OPO and the OPO is my daily driver for sure. Battery life can't even come close and cameras on the opo are far better. Other than that they are both excellent. Phones I probably would have stuck with the n5 or bought an n5 refresh if it had better battery.

I really wonder what you do with your phone to need more then 5hrs screen on time a day? I usually always have 70% left at the end of the day on my n5 which is about 2hrs sot and 16hrs stand by
And dont get me wrong. A bigger battery is always welcomed but i never ever had that need on the n5
That's what I realised with my opo, I was a 82% at the end of the day, I used it less than the nexus 5 due to the size and comfort in my hands, it was unergonomical for me and got RSI in my thumb.
I thought I could use it more due to the battery but I ended up using it less.
The nexus 5 is prefect for one hand operations with its rubber backing, gives you a secure grip.

Sure here's my run down:
Wake up in the AM due my morning conference call which lasts a half hour to an hour.
Got 3 emails on my phone most importantly work and side projects all with syncing and push notifications
Talk with my attorneys for about an hour
Answer work calls as they come in about an hour total for the day
By the afternoon I am off to the gym where I spend an hour with Bluetooth on and My headphones as I workout. The. For the second hour I watch Netflix while riding the bike or walking on the treadmill
Text throughout the day
Leave the gym call the family see how they are doing about another 45 min in calls
Get home surf the web on my phone. Read the news. See what's on Flipboard. Text the rest of the night.
Maybe take a pic or two
And always be the end of the night I still have roughly 25 to 40% battery life left.
The piece of mind you get when you never ever have to worry about battery life and your free to use your phone as much as you like without limitations well that's what opo offers me. Not that I can do anything better per say. But the fact that I can do as much as I want without worry of running to the charger. The fact that its fast as hell is nice too.

I'm probably the only one here who's, "downgraded," to the LG G2.
I know its not as fast as the Nexus 5 but I'm loving the battery life and the brighter screen.
I cant work out how the G2 is able to have double the battery life of the N5 when is still stuck on KK, doesnt have ART and has a ton of bloat taking resources.
As a brand new G2 was less money than what I got for my used N5, I could hardly be happier. :victory:

Damn... So it is possible For that usage you need what you have... and as you said not to worry about battery is the best feature of a phone... I come from a htc one x which had a 1800mah battery where you had to plan out the daily usage... It was a nightmare

Nexus 6 battery, performance, and gaming questions.

As silly and stupid as it sounds, I game on my android devices, hard. Ever since I figured out how to mod my PSP to extract UMD images, I've been wildly impressed with the wonders that can be performed on Android, especially with emulation.
I've been through a lot of second hand devices, and one new one, and the best two for gaming have been the shield tablet and the galaxy s5. I gave the s5 to my friend since he had to sell his nexus 5, so I'm looking for something a teensy bit smaller than my shield tablet. My one caveat is that it MUST perform on the same level than the s5, or slightly better. Can I expect this out of the nexus 6?
I've paid less than $300 for every phone I've ever had, and I know for that price point it would be petty to ask for much by way of battery. It still stands though. I got 3 hours of straight PSP gameplay on 50% brightness on my s5, and I could get another 2-4 hours of screen on time for the rest of the day after that. Is this, or something close to it, possible on the nexus 6? I'd like to add that my s5 was overclocked to 2.7ghz for more intense games like mhp3rd and mgs: peacewalker and thus got about 15% less SoT as a result.
Forgive me for the wall of text, I tend to get carried away when it comes to new devices, and my next needs to last me for QUITE some time. Plus I love a big phone for a tiny price lol

I used ppsspp to play psp games and i played them on my droid turbo. They ran quick and delightfully but then again i have a moto e 2nd with custom rom+kernel and the game still played smoothly(mortal kombat unchained). I guess the nexus 6 should be same as turbo and better than s5 since it has a better gpu
I appreciate the comment! It's good to know the hardware can handle it, now the only question is whether it'll last
