Diamond LED

I just bought a Diamond today and i noticed that the LED (placed by the speaker) doesn't do anything. It doesn't light when the phone is charging nor when the bluetooth is activated - is this a fault in the phone?

It`s not an LED it`s a light sensor...

"placed by the speaker" <--Look towards the LEFT of the speaker, there is a little 'squarish' part there that is the light-sensor which detects ambiance to dim the LCD's brightness up/down according to the surrounding lighting.

where does it say, LEFT? it could be RIGHT?
the little camera is placed BY the speaker? now i placed a screenshot. thats all

@neonlite: Obviously one would think that the words "placed by" would indicate 'close to' or 'right next to'.. the front facing VGA camera is farther away from the speaker than the light sensor.
And which one looks more like an LED light? I think the OP is smart enough to make out that what you were referring to is a camera.

after buying my Diamond i realised it doesnt have a 2nd camera...
the diamond u guys hav got does hav it...
but the 1s which hav come officially to india are without the 2nd camera ...

The diamond sold in India is GSM only so the front VGA camera is not present because is supposed to be used for video call thru UMTS.

Xperia camera completely messed up!? Look at pics.

I have no idea what is causing this but i thought it was a custom rom so i installed stock and this is still here :S
Its bloody weird! and cosmic!!! i mean it makes some things look awesome but clearly my camera has a hardware problem maybe?

not getting any image at all now just a blank screen - gonna do another hard reset - test front camera and back camera - if they are both messed up then i dunno...
The only thing i can think of is me having magnets near my phone???

if it dont work on stock ones its never gonna work on any others - getting no image at all now - completely failed

That really sucks - you still on warranty? Seems that your sensor went bad - it used to be a big problem with Canon cameras.

Well i rang SE and they said send it in and they repaur it (like 4th time with this phone (different problems each time) ) i bought it in October 2008

Yea - they fixed crack before for free and when my keyboard stopped working for free - dunno if i will though - cant go another 2 weeks or so without my phone might have to put up with it or do what they did in Flight of the Conchords lol

well, the x1 isn't much smaller than the thing on the pic, isn't it?
i just hope nothing brakes on mine until summer (new phone)... last time it's been at service from nov 12th until jan 8th. never again.

just want to let you know..
i made this pictures around 5 months ago and wondered what the **** was going on
but after a few minutes the camera worked normal again. im 100% sure this is a hardware problem.
i also have this slightly pink area in the middle of some

Hi,
Many of us said the screen was somehow defect because of the while line bug on white pages/images. Well I succeed to take a picture while it appeared and it is software because as you can see, we can still see it in the red rectangle. It happened while I was checking my delevery status so yeah I have censured few things just in case.

You must be very lucky to capture that. The duration is just a blink of eye. Hardly noticeable.
Where did you get it's a software issue?

If it was a hardware defect it wouldn't appear in a screenshot.

Well the white line started to flash on my screen for a few second witch gave me time to take a screenshot.
What cause this software issue?

Only just started getting this type if artifact & this is the first thread I have seen mention of it. I only get it on one website and only when using dolphin beta. I assume is a diver issue but could also have something to do with frames/tables on the pages.

I get one but it is horizontal and looks kind of jagged. It looks like what you get when a CRT television powers off. It used to be extremely frequent in the realm of multiple times a minute but a kernel change fixed it. I stopped following the forums for a while so I don't know if it has been fully addressed yet. Regardless, it would be nice to know if someone has fixed it completely. It happens throughout the system, no rhyme or reason, it has occurred on the home screen, in settings, app drawer or browser.

I have flashed the custom kernel for almost 1 month and never find the line again.

[HELP] Display issue in the bright sun

Guys today i was outdoor.....i was using the phone in bright sunlight i could see some vertical dotted line(single line) which moves horizontally when i tilt the phone.......i'm wondering whether it is a display issue or because of the screen protector...............at indoor it is normal i dont see any kind of lines.......only when bright sunlight directly falls on it i am experiencing the issue.........please Comment thanks

Its normal.. All xz has this and im guessing its not the layer that sony has installed and i have removed mine..

i think its the sensors
the horizontal lines are the Driving lines and the vertical is the sensing lines

if put extra protector on pre-installed one from sony that might be because of that.
if not i should say i didn see anything like this on any phones! (my experience)
and cause it has high density of pixel i must not have any effect or react on straight sun-light !!!

SO it s not normal ask sony for replacement.
However u must not have any effect and reflect and ... on screen with high density of pixel.

It is completely normal, it's part of the touchscreen digitizer. It's visible on almost all phones under strong light. I could see it on my S, Arc (S) and Neo too.

[Q] black and white lines in camera

Hi guys...
i have a problem with camera,
when i try to snap photos with white back ground, am able to see moving black and white lines.
the same lines are observed on photos also.
the service centre people have replaced my mother board, but still same problem :crying:
Again my friend adviced, it can be due to some light effects, but taking a snap at same place with other mobile is fine
please advice me guys if anyone have faced this problem.. :highfive:

Depends on the lighting so not much can be done.

I've had the problem with my X once. It was in Hershey Park Arena (the old one) in one of the halls, taking a picture of a logo on a wall.
I've never seen it since. So it may be related to specific lighting conditions.
What happens at home, under low non-florescent lights?

Under non fluorscent lights, it is fine.
why i am worried is, i am using this phone from 5 months, and recently this change is observed and
at the same place , with the same model (moto x) doesnt show this lines/this behaviour.
so i thought this is problem my handset itslef.

That was the only time I ever saw it. I haven't seen it since.

from what you are describing it sounds like the issue only arises in just the right conditions. that means your camera hardware is probably fine and the problem can be seen as software related. Moto X camera software doesn't give you much in the way of settings to mess around with, so you should try third party apps that do have more settings. Maybe a more photography enthusiastic user can chime in here, but I'd think trying an app that has settings for different lighting conditions, stuff like white balance, etc might help.
I use stock camera myself, and not that much at that, but I do notice you can get completely different exposure of the same scene in the same lighting if you change something like the manual focus or the angle of your shot.

I have a Moto X and was facing a similar problem. Using a third-party camera app named CameraMx solved it for me! I dont know why or how but it worked for me! That app seems to correct those black and white lines in some way! Hope it works for u too!
