Now I'd like to save my EFS folder I forgot to save before..is there a way to access my note to save it?
What should I do?do I have to flash a stock firmware and have my efs lost?
I also got a nandroid backup of my previous stock firmware..

my note doesn't boot up, stuck at 'charging_q1.jpg' draw failed

Did you try with Download mode then flash via PC using Odin??

AGAIN, avoid using mobile odin on the note, regardless of what anyone tells you, refer to the other posts of similar issues, they revolve around people flashing the note with mobile odin, ive done this twice myself, despite having paid for mobile odin i will not use it again, until it stops screwing up our Notes.
Stick to cmw or pc odin for stock roms, they work at least.

KK1 to KL7

Hi there, I need a little help from my Note.
I have read the instruction in the past post, and I decided to upgrade my firmware from KK1 to KL7, However, I realized KL7 can not be rooted yet, and now I would like to restore it back to my back-up KK1. But now Im encountered a problem.
I have rooted my KK1 and used the CWM to backup my KK1 and I upgraded the firmware KL7 with Mobile ODIN. then I realized the it is not longer rooted with the firmware KL7 and CWM is gone from my phone. so Im wondering how could i restore back to my back-up KK1.
File i used to upgrade my phone : N7000XXKL7_N7000OXAKL7_N7000XXKL7_HOME.tar.md5
I have tried to install the CWM into KL7 however nothing happened: I used the following steps to install the CWM
1. Run DooMLoRD_v1_UNROOTING/runme-UNROOT.bat
2. Use Root+package+Galaxy+Note
3. Replace CF-Root-SGN_XX_DBT_KL7-v5.0-CWM5/zImage file into Root+package+Galaxy+Note\Root n CWM galaxy Note\InitialCFRootFlasher\zImage
4. Run already-rooted.bat also tried not-rooted-yet.bat
No luck and I couldnt restore back to my backup KK1.
Could anyone help please
Thanks

Which method you have used to update KK1 to Kl7?
Anyway you have to :
Downgrade again to KK1 (with PC Odin)Get Root + CWM
Now you have to update KL7 with Mobile Odin, with keeping ever root option On.
Detail guide is here in post #2
you can choose either of 1 method

You need to enter in Download mode(Home+Vol Down+Power)
First open Odin
select PDA - point to Firmware tar file
then connect to PC, at this time yellow colour appears in COM field?

[Q] Can I flash efs backup with ODIN?

Hi people!
My phone is bricked and I found a backup of my efs (efs.rfs), but I can't flash because I only get crash in ODIN.
What can I do? What's wrong with ODIN?
Best Regards,
Cristian Silaghi
Have you done a nandroid backup? And also can you access to CWM? If yes try to erase everything.
And for odin do you used download mode? Try to unzip the stock rom and put it correctly in program then use download mode, connect your phone and let's start till it finish.
If everything don't work, go to S.A.V and say you don't know what happen'd to your if your warranty is safe.

No, I didn't done a nandroid backup.
It's just flickering when I boot up and when I access CWM.
Yes, I used download mode.
Do I need a special archiving mode for ODIN?
Go to cwm, wipe everything and then flash a new rom like dreamw or another rom. And then when flash is finish wipe everything again.

I can't access Recovery Mode/CWM. It's flickering the screen. What can I do it's just access Download Mode. There's a chance to make phone work if I flash my original stock firmware (but I can't find on the internet firmware stock from Orange Romania, Froyo version, that version which came with the phone).
Then flash a stock firmware this is the most simple for save your phone

I repeat: I can't find my original stock firmware from Orange Romania. Nobody leaked it...
I tried some "miraculous" firmwares which worked from some users, but I think that firmwares was the original ones which came with those phones.
Contact this user.
U are not clear, if ur phone is bricked nothing can be done.
Of course they are not 100% original firmwares but they work and that is all that is needed.
As u can access download mode just flash a GB stock firmware.

I installed "Galaxy Ace Unlock".
The screen is flickering when I start the phone and when I access CWM/Recovery Mode.
Only thing what works is Download Mode (without flickering).
ODIN just crashes (Galaxy Ace Unlock made a backup, but that backup cannot be flashed in ODIN, at least in my case) when I try to flash EFS.
Maybe ODIN doesn't support of flashing EFS backup in GT-S5570... Can anybody confirm that I'm wrong?

This is a tutorial i helped someone else with:
I think you already got the files, in case not download them again.
--WARNING-- Your phone must be charged to 90% or more, to prevent flash failure.
okay, put your phone in download mode. (power button, home button, and volume down button at same time) connect it to usb, and start odin.
Select ops file,
than select the boot file, named: APBOOT_S5570XXKPI_CL260130_REV02_user_low_true.tar.md5
Select Phone file: MODEM_S5570XXKPI_CL260130_REV02.tar.md5
The PDA file: CODE_S5570XXKPI_CL260130_REV02_user_low_true.tar.md5
and as last the CSC file: CSC_S5570SERKPI_CL260130_REV02_user_low_true.tar.md5
--MAKE SURE THIS IS RIGHT, AND ELSE YOUR PHONE CAN BE FATAL BRICKED!!!--
okay, all good?
right. click start.
wait till your phone reboots,
THEN, remove your usb cable.
and then the last part: Have fun!

/efs backup can help you only when your IMEI gets corrupted and you don't have gsm network. That means you can boot Android, but you will have problems with baseband.
You have another type of problem, right now efs can't help you, you must boot into system first.
domini99, tried already to do that. Without success
---
domcale, the app "Galaxy Ace Unlock" made a backup of /dev/block/stl5 (called "stl5.rfs") which I found on memory card.
If I can't boot up in system/CWM/Recovery and I can enter in Download Mode, what this means?
Can't enter recovery? Dunno why you can't, but if you can enter download mode, then you can flash stock rom using Odin

Unbrick Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Having looked at the thread regarding a similar predicament that I have (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783556), I'm keen to know I can use ODIN to put on a new ROM. Basically these are the steps I've followed;
1. Used KIES to update my ROM from Gingerbread to ICS
2. Use ODIN to update root my phone with CM9 safe kernel (not knowing it would have been significantly better to have copied my new AOKP ICS ROM to the internal SD card first)
3. Rebooted my phone and cannot get past 'SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000' logo.
4. I can still boot into download mode and use ODIN but wondered how I should use it to install a ROM as none of the ROM's I've downloaded, are in the correct .tar, md5, smd format, that OSIN is looking for ?
Some pretty basic reading for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321268

First of all, I'm not sure if this is the answer your looking for, but here is it anyway.
IN PC ODIN, there is a 'PDA' button (same button you flashed your kernel to), you need to download the ROM's zip file and flash it from there.
Stock ROM file you download is zip, you need to extract it one time to get into .tar, then you can use that file with pda of odin.

Would these be the files needed to get my phone back up and running? I am new to Android and screwed my phone up after a factory reset, now it just reads downloading for ages and does nothing. I still get a screen that reads Hyperdroid RedPill Recovery when i power on with volume button up pressed. Volume down I get Android man and it reads downloading but does nothing.
I have looked all over for this situation but seem to get a piece here and there and not the exact same issue all in one so I am reluctant to just do something and make it worse.
Please advise
That is downloading mod, it won't do anything but remain as it is, if you don't do anything.
You need to connect you device to PC in this state and have to use odin
Read 1st line on my sign and read post#2, you will get full instruction, how to use odin.

[Q] bricked N7000. how to get working again

I tried upgrading my international N7000 to CM10.3 following the instructions in

but now the phone won't even boot into the recovery, all it shows is
Samsung
GALAXY Note
GT-N7000

/ | \
/--*-\
When i tried flashin from my Mac iusing Heimdall,
the download finished on the mac, but on the N7000
it still showed the blue line etc. I waited a lng time and tried
rebooting, but got the above.
Re-flashing in Heimdall had no effect.
I then tried flashing
hardcore-speedmod-ics-recovery-n7000.tar
using Odin 3.185 from my VMwars Fusion XP install,
and that seemed to finish ok, but no luck either.
I looked for the latest CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery, but I cannot find any
odin-flashable format for it, and of course I cannot use the sdcard
as I cannot even boot into any recovery as is.
Can anyone suggest next steps?

1st things 1st. Why would u use heimdall or odin? And what is your current ROM before trying to flash CM 10.3, was it stock? You should have looked for CWM recovery or Philz safe kernels as base when doing ROM flashing ESPECIALLY custom roms. From what you said, then can you still boot into download mode? I have no knowledge of heimdall so just download Stock Firmware, flash it with odin and see if you can boot your N7000 first.
The worst case scenarios is you are experiencing emmc bug-brick. go to the thread and read carefully to deduce your type of 'brick' and find solutions there. Good Luck.
I was on a stock 4.0.4 (but rooted). I originally tried flashing the cwm from the sd card, but after starting to load it it also just hung,
so I looked for an alternative..
I found a post on stockroms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but the links all point to hotfile.com. which my browser says it cannot find. is hotfile dead? Is there an alternative?

I'm sorry so did u succeed or did you not succeed in installing the custom rom? If your custom rom boots fine then all u need is to search for solving status 7 error thread. My advice to all noobs is to always try n avoid installimg anything except stock rom in odin. Always read and re read before flashing anything that's beyond your knowledge. Basic knowledge of flashing cusroms is :
1. ALWAYS make sure you're on SAFE and COMPATIBLE KERNEL. Most rom threads ALWAYS Include threads/links to a specific recovery/kernel to use. Read n RE READ that.
2. Wipe everything IN RECOVERY mode before flashing a rom.

Ok, I downloaded one of the stock kernels for my internatinal N7000, but flashing that with Odin 3.185 hangs about 3/4 through (has now been
sitting there for >60 mins).
Looks like I am screwed?
The file I found is KIES_HOME_N7000XXLT4_N7000OXALT4_1103517_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I f I wanted to try flashing this with Heimdall, I'd need to know partition numbers I think
Where can I get those?
Or should I get another file?

Before that, do u have KIES installed? KIES is NOT compatible with odin and will cause potential trouble. So is some firewall and antivirus apps. You need to disable all of them before using odin. Please search the thread http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for stock rom site.

Of course you fail... When using ODIN, U should have downloaded the .tar. if you downloaded a zip. then unzip it first to get the tar file, then you flash it with odin. All requests are included in the stock.tar And PLEASE DO NOT Play with PIT files if you don't know what you are doing.
So now what you need to do is. :
1. DISABLE KIES (Uninstall it better), Your firewall, antivirus.
2. Install CORRECT Samsung USB driver. (Search keyword "download samsung N7000 usb drivers")
3. Unzip your zip file and extract the tar.file.
4. Run ODIN as Administrator (Right click/run as)
5. Go to download mode. connect your device to Pc/laptop.
6. Wait until Odin detects your device, click AP/PDA and choose the tar file you extracted.
7. DO NOT tick partition.
8. Let it run
Of course I unzipped the zip to get a SINGLE .tar.md5, but flashing that fails on factoryfs about 3/4 through. consistently.

where I found the PIT file, but for ROMs pointed to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530501
which again points to hotfile and fileserve.com , which (besides being under maintenance) says
FileServe can only be used to download and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.
which makes it useless for finding ROMs...

Make you post readable for everyone using the dark theme and you might get more response.
What exactly did you flash with Odin and what happened, other than it didn't work?

You shouldn't have used any tool.
You could have easily recovered your unknown baseband by simply flashing your stock firmware.
Retry flashing the Stock firmware. But this time, do a wipe cache partition, wipe data/factory reset in recovery mode first.
Use the latest stock firmware that is available for your country/CSC.
If you can find a pit file, include that in odin flash with the stock firmware. Put a checkmark on the "repartition" option.
It's normal for the device to take 5-10 minutes or more during the initial boot.

i found this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ide-fix-n950f-efs-failed-to-mount-dm-t3831184
i beg you can you plz help understand it
Extract Stock firmware AP file (rename .md5 to .tar)
this i cant understand wich should i rename or what i do
Rename dqmdbg.img to efs.img (or smallest image must be smaller than 8000 KB). Extract Dqmdbg.img.lz4 so it’s just “Dqmdbg.img” and then rename it to efs.img and put that one in a tar. Other option is downloading a file that’s already made this way if your bootloader is binary 4, Saves you trouble of extracting / renaming: http://www.mediafire.com/file/589wuc...f/efs.tar/file (if you download this file just move onto number 3)
Add file new efs.img into tar archive.
Flash tar as AP file in odin + download mode
Reboot download mode
Flash Combination with odin + nand erase option on Edit: suggest you to flash stock rom first and oem unlock, don't need to wait for 7 days if imei is 0000 skip combination step
Device Should boot into Factory binary
Use IME to restore imei using *#06# (or imei 0000 in stock rom) Edit: This step is not required if efs backup is restored successful
Your device should have dm-verify failed in recovery due to drk error
Continue drk bypass for dm verify error below to continue

I have the same problem with my note 9. Im looking if anyone can provide me with efs file of N960F Binary 3 so i can get it unbricked again.
I found this website but it has efs files for binary 1 and 2 not 3. Will it still work if i use binary 2 efs?
