[Q] Can I Go back to Stock 2.1 with unlocked bootloader? - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have a X8 with GingerDX 21 and doixanh linuxkernel 004.
I'm going to sell my Xperia and the new owner wants to go back to my backup of stock eclair 2.1...
Can I restore with CMW? I made it with xrecovery... If not, how can I start the xrecovery instead cmw?
Can I restore the backup with no problems with my bootloader unlocked?

You can recover the stock kernel and stock ROM to the device. There should be links to those around here somewhere.
Also, you can try to install xRecovery again, but i'm not sure if this is possible when CWM is installed already..

I have my backup of stock rom.. if I restore from recovery, must I flash first a stock kernel too?? Is not the kernel in the backup?

NAND backup (made with recovery) only backups ROM, so, yes, you will have to flash stock kernel as well.

-Install stock rom with cwm or xrecovery (phone will bootloop) then
-Flash stock kernel..
There u go...

Now looking for the stock kernel.. I don't find it

You should use the Flashtool link, which flashes the stock ROM & stock kernel at once

Did you "Full Wipe (Factory Reset)" after flashing the ROM?
If not ... keep tapping on the screen when the white Sony Ericsson logo shows up to get into CWM and full wipe.
Works now?
Thanks for your reply,
I've done full wipe but its not working.

Ok, then let's dive deeper into the matter ...
- You run a custom kernel?
If yes, which one?
- How did you flash the ROM? ClockworkMod recovery or xRecovery?
If you flashed with xRecovery you did wrong. Re-flash the ROM with CWM.
- In case you are on Stock Kernel, did you flash the Stock Kernel add-on?

Since I am still missing a "Works now" post here (apart from a "Thanks") ...
You now see the bold red text that outlines the problem why your ROM does NOT boot?
Oh, and since you ARE on Stock Kernel (2.1.1.A.0.6) do NOT forget the also flash the Stock Kernel Add-On in CWM - or you will have just the next torrent of problems after you.

[Help] Nandroid backup 4.1.1

My phone running panadroid rom, after wipe data cache and install 4.1.1 rom leak my phone got bootloop. I mean stop at GT 7000 screen or samsung logo or enter the language choice screen then automatic reboot....
Can anybody upload the nandroid backup of 4.1.1 leak. I need it to restore my phone i think that's only way to my phone come up to 4.1.1
Did you tried to reflash the rom?
Or just flash a Safe Kernel like Hydracore first, then full wipes and flash stock ics rom via Odin.
Then reflash Safe Kernel and retry to flash 4.1.1 ROM.

The best thing is that your device isn't bricked. Did you tried as i said before? flashing Stock ICS ROM via Odin (not only custom Roms) , then Safe Kernel and start to flash JB ROM from this?

After download extract it and flash via Odin.

If you want to keep the root, restoring nandroid backup will do..no need to flash the stock kernel again until & unless you want to unroot..once you restore the nandroid backup, you will get the same kernel on which you were, when you were making the nadroid backup..for stock kernels click here

Big world of Kernels.... and iHackers ROM

So as you all no, Ive unlocked my Bootloader and Rooted my phone.
Now i am trying to install the iHackers 2.1 ROM but am coming into confusion. I have not installed any other apps for the rooted device, i have a clean device with "Philz advance Recovery Kernel" Installed. That is all!
If i go through the process of installing the iHackers 2.1 ROM will this delete "Philz Advance Recovery"? As i think Philz recovery is a kernel
and iHackers wants me to install their Kernel. Correct? so the iHackers will replace philz recovery?? Am i right or wrong?
If im right then how would i install ROMS/WIPE DATA/CLEAR CACHE and that after ive installed the iHackers ROM???
At the end of the tutorial iHackers give they say install my desired Kernel after the Stock Kernel step. Is this were i replace "Philz Recovery"?
I here people installing DOOM's(Something) Kernel at this point. But does that mean they have lost the recovery Kernel?? Its confusing.
I would like the Doom Kernel everyone is using aswell as iHackers ROM as well as A Recovery Kernel lol, Not asking for much am i ! LOL
Could some help clear this up please, i have read many documents on here and havent wrapped my head round it yet. THANKS
The procedure should be like that, complete the iHackers procedure to install the room. After you did that if you lost the recovery you can flash any kernel with recovery via Flashtool, it's your choice. The recovery it's implemented in Kernel so don't get confused, after you install any rom you can flash any custom kernel with any recovery.

Thankz,By the way.. i have suggested that i could also flash pre rooted stock and den 201 kernel.. any ideas on that?
@ OP You have Q&A so quit PM me and ask all your questions here
The quick answer is yes - use your recovery to back up your rooted stock ROM. If you don't like CM simply return to your back up - it will still be rooted.
Alternatively, you have an unlocked bootloader - so you can flash Doomlord's kernel immediately after returning to stock (the kernel is insecure meaning you can flash a supersu zip in recovery to get root again).
Doomlord's latest kernels are decent and I can recommend Williams kernel too - as good as stock.
