[How-To] Enter Safe Mode - LG Optimus Black

I don't know if this is already known, but didnt find anything on this.
I just managed to get into safe mode under v20N. First I didnt know how, but n´now I think I know:
Enable Debugging Mode
Take out SIM and battery
G-Key + Power
so all buttons to be short
Then plug in USB cable and hold buttons, until it's fully booted.
Then you should see Safe mode in the left lower corner
Don't know if it's usfull, but if any1 needs it, u can find it here
It also works with SIM AND akku inserted and without the USB cable
-edit-
Had to edit some things, since I was simply pushing all buttons, but G + Power until booting is finished is fine. Xantaro is the first who niticed this, so THANKS!

interesting,but what can this SAFE MODE do ?

I dont know, but maybe someone finds anything interesting for him/her... I just posted it, because I just found it out and didnt know if it's usefull to any1 Wanted to bring light to ur darkness

You can also enter Safemode by holding the G-Button while booting. (You have to Hold it until the Homescreen is loaded.).
Safemode boots the Phone without starting any Apps from /data afaik. Could be helpfull when a installed app prevents successful booting.
Safemode was accesible in older Rom Versions also.

Alright, didnt know that... but i was playing around in order to find recovery or root possibility and thats where i found it

You could try this in safe mode
adb push zergRush /data/local/zergRush
adb shell "/data/local/zergRush"
or from a terminal emulator on the phone /data/local/zergRush
https://github.com/downloads/revolutionary/zergRush/zergRush.zip

adb shell and terminal tell me permission denied...
And pls post such things to root thread

I already discovered this with v20N, I came here to share but it was already here hehe.
No need for usb debug or volume up down etc.
Just power on and keep pressed G button.
Then at the LG logo the phone will vibrate.
Release G button and you will be in safe mode, only stock apps will be loaded.

[GUIDE] EASY way to get into Download Mode (Consistent)

I have had a VERY hard time trying to get into Download Mode until now. ive discovered a consistent method to get into download mode. w/o trying a million diff reboots while holding buttons
***First you must have ROOT***
all disclaimers apply to this method as well as anything modifying system firmware. If ur phone turns into an evil handicapped rabbit and breaks a window, its not my fault!!
Download Terminal Emulator from the Market
open terminal emulator
**you may need to change to default android keyboard for proper inputting
1.) type "su" and press enter
a dialog box will appear asking for root access and say yes (obviously)
2.) type "reboot recovery" and press enter
at that moment, ur phone should reboot into Download Mode to load Alternate firmwares for like Eugene's Vibrant4 ROM etc......
this it what it should look like...
#su
#reboot download
Problem Solved --------
To de-rail any flaming of ignorance. the 1st pic is Download mode and the second one is Recovery Mode to clearly show that they are NOT the same!! they have 2 diff purposes
...or you can download and install quick boot from the market which you then can make a shortcut to reboot into recovery with just one click

Recovery Mode != Download Mode
you can type adb reboot recovery
or you can type adb reboot download
each will boot you into the respective mode. No other commands needed.
This won't work if you've flashed a firmware that didn't complete and are unable to boot up. If ppl don't learn how to manually get into dl mode, whenever they're unable to boot up and get to a terminal they're going to freak
I posted a post already on how to get into download mode in this section (hardware style)
ths method is used because the hardware method for getting to Download mode (vol dwn+power) isnt consistent for EVERYBODY..theres eveb a video for showin a way to get into download mode on youtube but it didnt work of me and he even said it isnt a consistent method but it worked for him. and also Recovery mode is NOT download mode!!!!!!!!!!!!. they are to diff modes!!. the only purpose for Download mode is for using the Odin flasher. i have to de-rail the dudes who tryna flame me and didnt read up on this b4hand. in the gen questions forum, there a bunch of complaints about the download mode not comin up. i swear that ppl dont read. if u wanna keep a secret from ppl, put it in a book or long paragraph on how to do somethin
just wanted to post (with the caveat that i do not have the courage to actually flash my phone) that if you have Root Manager (which i posted in the "delete your crapware" thread as a non PC/ ABD method) it has a reboot widget that has three options: 1. Reboot 2. Reboot into Recovery 3. Reboot to BootLoader.
dont quote me because i dont know for sure, but i assume Reboot into Recovery = Recovery Mode and Reboot to BootLoader = Download Mode. Just sayin...

The reason it is inconsistent is because it is 'different'. It is an odd and unexpected way of getting into download mode. That doesn't make it wrong.
I've never been able to get into recovery using hardware. I'm hesitant to get too adventurous with flashing until then. Just sayin'... this is crazy.
got my t-mobile galaxy s a few days ago, tried all of button combinations to get into download mode, non seem to work, the firmware is jg3.
i'm now trying adb and still cant get into download mode, it's rooted and has no prob going into recovery mode, but i'm struggling with download mode... any ideas?
I had the same issue. Tried every method discussed including the examples on you tube... None worked. Only thing that worked for me... And consistently worked is the following.
1) remove back cover and take our simm card and sd-card.
2) take out the battery
3) hold both the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.
4) while holding down those 2 buttons put the battery back in
Should load download mode at this point. If it doesn't work, try the above with the phone pluged in to your usb.

I have found a consistent way to get into the recovery. With the phone off hold the down the volume up and down buttons and also hold down the power button. Don't just press the power button and release it. The vibrant logo will pop up but the phone wont boot into android. The phone will go black and the samsung logo will pop up again. Now release the power button and it will go into recovery. At least it does on mine, every time.

I agree, this works every time and on every vibrant i have rooted so far.
ive NEVER had an issue getting into recovery mode with the 30 or so Vibrants ive rooted, and ive NEVER had to use Odin.
seriously guys, this is soooo simple i really have no idea why anyone has problems with it...

I'm a DM for a tmobile retailer and i root probably 2 or 3 phones for customers every day. I keep all the files for vibrant/cliq/mt3g/mts/n1 on my SDcard so i can pop it in the customers phone and root.

Best way for me is to turn off the phone, hold down the vol buttons, then plug in the usb. Goes into downloading mode without a problem.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Download mode: powered off, plug in USB, wait till you see the charging screen, then hold down both volume up & down buttons, then press and hold the power button till you see the vibrant logo and let go of the power button while still holding both volume buttons till you see download mode.
Recovery mode: same button sequence method but done while fully powered off (even before you see the charging screen if you have it plugged in)
Basically you can only get into download mode while powered off and the charging screen is on
Vol Down + Power did not work for me. My Vibrant will only enter download mode if I press Vol Down + Vol Up and do not touch the power button.
With all the ways posted here to get into download mode is anyone wondering why OP posted this?
his way or "adb reboot download" are very consistent ways to get there while playing around with roms and the such.
I really dont know why there is SOOOO much bad info on booting into recovery and download mode.
It IS a little trickier than normal but this is the best way...... Step by Step for both methods. The youtube ways and a lot of forum posts, especially before the vibrant came out were for the i9000 and other versions, and do NOT work on the vibrant, this is the true way to do this.
Download mode:
1. Shut down phone (pull battery if stuck in some kind of install through odin or flashing from sd)
2. Plug phone in (or when rebooting with it plugged in) wait till you see the green charging icon.
3. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down
4. While holding Volume buttons, press and hold power button
5. As SOON as the green battery disappears let go of the power button ONLY!
6. You are now in download mode.
Recovery: (the same first steps as dl mode)
5. Hold all buttons until the "Samsung Vibrant" screen disappears then wait for the battery icon to start to appear (you see the little wait circle) then release all.
6. Wait a quick second and you will see recovery start to load.
So the difference between booting into download mode and booting into recovery is you are holding all the buttons longer for recovery and only releasing the power button as soon as the green battery disappears.
Another note is to make sure that you wait for the green battery to appear before you start these.
This is very easy to do once you know exactly what to do, I had a hell of a time figuring it out the first time because of all the bad info. It really is quite simple though.

[Q] Captivate With I9000 Firmware Stuck in Recovery Mode

There have been those that run into problems after installing the XXJP3I9000 update on the Samsung Captivate and attempt to reboot into recovery mode. The issue that they have is that since the Captivate has no physical home button to select an option like you can with the Galaxy S, you can't select an option, and therefore you can't reboot your device regularly. While I am in this same problem and have not figured out a solution, I have started this thread to post what knowledge I have about this issue so that others may help get this issue figured out. If anyone has information on how to fix this problem, please comment below. Let's fix this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all, the key combinations that standardly would work with the original captivate firmware will not work anymore. Pressing all three buttons (Vol+, Vol - and Power) will only power cycle the phone, that is, until you let up on the buttons. Pressing Vol+ and Vol- and then plugging your phone into the computer will also do nothing. (By nothing I mean will take you back to the recovery menu)
Every key combination will only take you back to the recovery menu, so key combinations seem to be out.
If you boot into recovery mode, take out the battery and put it back in, all the while keeping the phone plugged in to the computer, the phone will enter the "POWER RESET OR UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE", which will show your device in windows as being a Samsung USB Composite Device and a Samsung Mobile Modem (gadget serial, Windows 7) While this may be helpful, you cannot run ODIN or ADB in this mode, nor does this allow disk access. If you have Samsung Kies installed, it will detect a device, but will never complete loading it.
Other information with this method: On the phone screen, as well as showing "POWER RESET OR UNKNOWN UPLOAD DEVICE" the screen will also show the following in red:
RST_STAT =0X1
PMIC_IRQ1 =0X0
PMIC_IRQ2 =0x0
PMIC_IRQ3 =0x4
PMIC_STATUS1 =0x40
PMIC_STATUS2 =0x2c
If this helps anybody, it was a pleasure
Another method I found briefly was that after installing Kies, and rebooting the phone into recovery mode (again) my computer detected four new devices, two of them being Samsung Android devices and one being a disk drive. Potentially, without freezing or error, the drivers that are included with the Kies software will detect and allow for disk management while the phone is in recovery mode. Three of the four devices installed without error for me, but the fourth, the actual Android device, continued to say "installing device" until I unplugged the phone out of frustration. It has since not detected those four devices again, and I have yet to figure out how to do that again. The nice thing about that was that although the adb.exe reboot download command did not work, adb.exe did detect the phone. if this is true then rebooting normally or into download mode should be easy.
The last thing I noticed is that button furthest to the left on the main screen on the captivate will close the recovery menu when pressed, and leave the background behind, and then will reopen the recovery menu when pressed again. This is showing me that the four touch buttons are operable, but not configured. If it were possible to reconfigure the actions that pressing these buttons do, then it would be easy to be able to reboot the device normally.
I have compiled information to the best of my ability, and here is a question to ask, that I think will help solve the problem. Can the captivate with I9000 2.2 software run adb in recovery mode?
Comments, Questions, and Most of all, answers would be appreciated for me, as well as for other users with the same problem as I. Hopefully, this thread can be the solving point for this problem.
Many Thanks,
TouchofDestiny
An Update: The reason that the combinations don't work for me or either people is because they (and I) fail to install the captivate kernel, and that is making the volume power button controls useless.
same here i put froyo from the galaxy s i9000 and i cant change the rom or get into recoverymode because buttons dont work man this sucks and 3G or Edge doesnt work.....
You're problem is a little different. If you can't get into recovery mode, than that means you aren't in recovery mode, which means you can use ADB to enter download mode and use Odin to flash your phone. I have given up looking for a solution, and have sent my phone back to AT&T for a replacement. Since I'm still in my thirty day trial period, it doesn't matter if I used different firmware or not. Hopefully others won't get into the situation I had. For me, this thread is complete.
hi,
I solved the same problem doing this:
start odin.
take out battery. plug in USB. press both volume buttons. insert battery while pressing those buttons.
Done. download mode should appear.
yep, same boat
I am in the same position here. I downloaded the froyo leak and installed it with odin, no problem there. Upon startup into froyo, all was good, except my phone was stuck in horizontal mode until I tilted it vertical, *then* it would go horizontal. So basically I am 90 degrees off kilter. I decided to look around for another rom to try, and in the process managed to get stuck in recovery mode. Couldn't tell ya what firmware I have, just what is on the endless recovery screen that I cannot get out of!
I have no external microSD card, only the SIM card, and no way to get it recognized on my XP or win 7 system.
Really, really stuck here, guys. I do have the androidsdk installed, if there is a way to get it to reboot. As it is, adb cannot see the device, so I am looking at a truly bricked phone.
And yes, this is a US phone, which is why the power button and home button are not mapped (I assume).
I am DESPERATE for some help here!
and while I am at it...
I WAS able to get into download mode with the shovel guy originally by using the 2 volume keys+power, usb (odin up), battery in, release power.
No more. No key combo works.
Totally bricked the Samsung, which is supposed to be impossible!
when you are on the i9000 rom the only button that will get you in download mode is the vol down
That's HUGE!
You, sir, are a gentleman, scholar, and all-round smart guy! How did I miss that? I coulda SWORN I was getting into download mode with both volume keys. I've never been so happy to see a little Dalek dude with a shovel in my LIFE. 2 minutes in the one-click installer and now I'm back in business!
Thanks for helping a terrified owner out, and preventing a trip to the AT&T store.
I cannot go to download mode
I have the same problem here. Stuck in the recovery mode after upgrade the froyo and had the orientation problem. How do you go into download mode or power reset or unknown upload mode? Any button combination doesnt seem to work for me.
How do I do?
Please HELP. I am struggling here
the key to the i9000 rom/kernel button combo is VOL DOWN + using the USB trick. do not press vol up + down, just the down while you are plugging in the usb cable
i too am stuck in recovery mode. the only way i can get into download mode is by using both volume buttons. just holding the down button just sends me to revoery mode as well. how can i fix my phone in download mode?
nevermind, reinstalled 2.2 and it works now.
Eureka I got it...I think
I installed froyo 2.2 i9000 on my captivate and got stuck in recovery mode...power button doesnt select and when I hold down the up and down vol buttons I couldnt get the downloading icon anymore either. Then I remembered something from another post....
Home + Vol Down + Power = Downloading Icon
It worked for me....let me know if this helped....I'm officially unbricked.
Hey. I'm in the same boat. My Captivate has I9000 firmware running it and it won't run properly. I can't access the settings to enable USB debugging in order to boot in either Recovery or Download using adb and no button combination works for me. I can't use button combos to boot into either Recovery or Download mode.
Does anybody have any idea what is going on and how to fix this?
JPBentley-- Since the I9000 firmware is set to use physical buttons, and the Captivate doesn't contain any, once you get into recovery mode, you cannot get out. The standard Captivate key combinations to get into download mode do not work, as do the combinations to get into download mode via the I9000 firmware. Basically, you get to a dead end. Unless there is some way to flash the phone's ROM outside of download mode, which I doubt, your best bet is to return the phone for a replacement. After haggling around with AT&T for a while, they admitted that installing the I9000 ROM doesn't invalidate your warranty, so they should take it back. They did with mine, and now I'm running the official Froyo leak. Good luck with your new phone!
SOLUTION
For all those that are having this problem, Ive struggled with it & tried EVERY possible button combination & nothing worked.
The ONLY solutions I have found is to use a usb JIG. Take out the battery, sim card & sd card, plug in the Usb JIG & put the batter back in. Give it a couple of seconds & I'tll enter recovery mode without pushing any buttons. You dont even need to push the power button, it's that simple.
Here is an image of how to make one if you are electronically inclined, personally I am not so I found a local electronic parts store & they put on together for me.
1.bp.blogspot.com/_3KjgtwnRiWM/TNTyjkZGquI/AAAAAAAABL4/7NSmqrYmkmU/s640/i900.jpg
If you want, you can also buy one online, I cant post a link becuase Im a new member but just search for "samsung usb jig" on ebay.com & youll find plenty.
shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=samsung+usb+jig&_sacat=See-All-Categories
yes, i think you need to build a jig or buy one online if you want to play with custom rom. you may not need it now, but you may need it just in case.
That's not even close to a brick. Are you using a usb port closest to the motherboard on your pc? Is your cable good? Make or buy a jig, that will put your phone into download mode.
Help, choose wrong phone for ROM Manger and now stuck in Android Recovery Mode
Help guys.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate I897. Last night I installed the Clockworkmod ROM Manager in there and was messing around with it.
I choose my phone model to be the the I9000 and then I went into recovery mode to restore the previous ROM, but guess what? It went into recovery mode, the volume up and down buttons select the menu items and it asks me to hit the "OK key" to enter.
The Captivate doesn't have an OK key, it uses the power button. So the Android Recovery Mode here thinks the phone is a I9000 and I can't get it to do anything other than reboot into that mode.
I've tried using the ADB to try to get back into download mode but it's no longer reading the phone. The volume + power buttons to go into that mode has never worked for this phone either.
I'm at a loss at what to do. Is there anyway I can get out of recovery mode and into download mode or back to regular phone usage here? Would I need to take it to an android developer?
Thanks for your help.
Shut off the phone, open up odin(DG's flash to stock one) hold the power and the menu button. Once you see the ATT screen release the power while continuing to hold the volume buttons. Once odin recognizes your device flash to stock using the utility. Once this works donate to DG for saving your ass. Also, quit using ROM manager. Just use the update.zip method everyone else uses.
+1 for just using CWM update.zip It is sooo much easier/faster.
Thanks, but it didn't work. My Galaxy S is one of those where the volume + power buttons don't work to get it into download mode.
I did try power + menu as you suggest, but that doesn't work either.
try this
1. open odin.
2. With phone unplugged remove battery
3. with battery removed plug phone into pc via USB
4. with battery still removed simultaneously hold down Vol. + / - (forget about power button just hold down the two vol buttons)
5. While holding down the vol + / - insert the battery (keep the vol buttons down and hopefully DL screen comes up)
I cannot stress this enough.
Also, OP, if the above doesn't work, it might be USB jig time.
pwr isn't used to go into dload mode - that would turn your phone on.
Do this:
Open odin
Remove bat, sim, ext mem card
replace bat
hold vol -/+ and plug in data cable to computer
(should be download mode)
If that fails, then get yourself a jig... gotta search for the thread though - should cost a couple dollars. Then once you're back up... look up the thread to fix the 3 button combo.
You might try turning the phone off then hold VOLUME DOWN and POWER (not vol up/dwn/pwr) to get into download mode. Make sure to remove the sim and sd cards.
I bricked my phone over the weekend and had similar problem you did.the easiest way too get out in to download mode is a jig. Its easy and cheap to do.look on you tube under un brick captivate fort a tutorial.
Once you learn that trick you are on stock for like 2 minutes before you flash
Yeah I'm kind of a lurk but I've been around for about a month just flashing everything, and I had no idea it could be done like this till today. Going to make my next one even faster.
Nothing seems to work.
I'm going to try the jig method Wednesday morning. Wish me luck!
I tried the jig and it didn't work.
What happened was that it got me back into recovery mode, not download mode. Tried it several times. So unless I'm hitting the wrong points on the phone usb plugin (other than the last two), I'm hooped.
I tried the direct resistor wire to points in usb plugin method. I didn't try the one where I cut open a mini-usb cable and use the plug as a dongle, although I think it may get the same result.
What do you guys think?
How to enter recovery mode?
Well title pretty much says what my problem is. I know there are topics that are pretty similar to this one and I read them, tryed them all and I still cannot make recovery mode on my phone work. My best guess is that network from which i bought the phone locked that somehow?
Here's what I've tryed:
Recovery Mode:
With the phone powered off
Turn phone on, while holding power button and pressing back button as shown in video below (start at watching at 0:40)
/watch?v=kReGHJw0elo
I dont think this way (below) is a proper way of entering recovery mode. Anyways i've tryed it:
I also tryed with battery out and cable on but all other things that I've tryed sounds more like witchcraft than anything else. So is it possible that network disabled recovery mode and what do you guyz think I should do? Tnx in advance.
Well title pretty much says what my problem is. I know there are topics that are pretty similar to this one and I read them, tryed them all and I still cannot make recovery mode on my phone work. My best guess is that network from which i bought the phone locked that somehow?
Here's what I've tryed:
Recovery Mode:
With the phone powered off
Turn phone on, while holding power button and pressing back button as shown in video below (start at watching at 0:40)
/watch?v=kReGHJw0elo
I dont think this way (below) is a proper way of entering recovery mode. Anyways i've tryed it:
Recovery doesn't come preinstalled with phone! You have to install it via flashtool!
First, you need to have root access.
Then,you can install a recovery, I´d recommend you to install Dual Mode Recovery (use the search button, because then you can have both recoveries.
After that, you can enter CWM recovery with touching the screen repeatedly while it´s showing you the white "Sony Ericsson" logo, and you can enter xrecovery by pressing any button repeatedly
Kernel
I have rooted my Xperia X8 and flashed kernel nAa on it, but I can't get in recovery mode no matter what I try..
press back button for few times to enter CWM Recovery in nAa's kernel.
note: you can't successfully flash kernel into your X8 when you only have rooted your device. you need to unlock bootloader! read these threads!
for first u can't boot up to recovery. cause sony doents have default recovery. u must install manual, xrecovery/cwm recovery. u can install it with x8tool, flashtool, or manualy pushing to /system/bin folder.
Use search before posting anything. X8 recovery has two or three types. Dual mode is to either tap the screen and back button. Most recovery is back button.
Want to change rom, but problem with power button
Hello ladies and gents,
I ahve a very simple question, i want to follow the CyanogenMod thread to change roms on my milestone because it is acting up on me and it def. needs a refresher, but my main problem is that my power button does not work anymore, and i'm afraid the only way i have for it to turn on is if i connect it to a computer...when i just connect the phoen to a wall it just shows me charging...but as soon as i connect it to a computer it officially turns on.
So, do i need my power button to be able to complete the rom change, AND, is there such a thing as a rom or an app that would allow me to turn the phone on with a different button????
Thanks for your help peeps it is greatly appreciated!!! :laugh:
Did u tried alt+shift+del button combination on phydical keyboard to reboot?
Maybe 'reboot recovery' through adb or terminal emulator.
Since my power button is broken, if ever it shuts down or needs to restart and doesn't automatically, i don't want to have to unplug it and/or temper with it...so basically well, that was exactly my question; will i ever need my power button while flashing/changing roms on the device?
If not then i will go ahead and do the rom change.
My 2nd question was, since my power button is broken, my screenlock/unlock is also unfunctional and if ever my phone shuts off i can't turn it back on unless i connect it to a computer. Is there such a thing as an app or a feature(from a specific rom) that would allow me to configure the phone to turn on with a different button? Same thing for the screenlock/unlock.
I hope i explained myself better
Thanks for your time!!
Can't help you for the first question... Think it's impossible to boot without power button nor plugged USB.
But for the second, it's known that all CM (at least since 7) have this option : wake up with volume buttons
Some other ROM include it but can't tell you which one. Sorry.
What scoutme saying is correct, when the mobile is turning on and if u have pressed the camera button, it will trigger boot to recovery mode.
One more suggestion, why don't u use quick reboot widget, it has option to reboot to recovery. It does all what physical power button does. Try it out...
I've been dealing with this problem for about 6 months or so, if you are about to start from the scratch like sdcard partition and sbf and applying stuff I guess there's' no way you can do it...
All I did was downloaded the required ROM and placed in OR and I got a app for getting to recovery which is "Quick Boot"
Search on play store, its free ;which has got 4 options in it namely reboot, recovery ,boot loader and power off ...did it that way
Hope this helps
To wake up the device (booted device, that has a locked screen) you can slide out the keyboard. CM7 indeed has a setting to wake it up with volume keys. For CM9 I do not remember and CM10 does not have that option yet as far I have noticed (I could be wrong, though).
What ROM do you currently have? Motorola stock? CyanogenMod? What version?
If you have non-moto it is rooted and has a busybox installed. You can execute
Code:
reboot recovery
form Terminal emulator which will take you to recovery. You can also connect it to computer, open Command prompt/Terminal (depends on your PC OS) and execute
Code:
adb shell
reboot recovery
Ccommand
Code:
adb reboot
to reboot the device or
Code:
adb reboot recovery
to reboot directly to recovery should also work. I'm unsure if it works on moto stock.
(Make sure you have enabled USB debugging in Settings.)
After that you should be directly in open recovery menu. Or press Volume up + Camera button if "stuck" on triangle screen.
Keyboard key combo, Left shift + Right alt + Delete reboots the device.
No matter what method you used to turn on the device you should be able to boot to recovery: while device is booting press and hold the keyboard X (needs to be done early in the process) to boot to recovery if you have bootloader 90.78. For previous bootloader vesions the camera button should do the same.
To boot to bootloader you need to press and hold D-pad up while the device is booting. Afaik, command
Code:
reboot bootloader
will boot to fastboot mode which is of no use for flashing sbf files (I can only assume that 3rd party apps and widgets use that method to get to bootloader/fastboot). You need bootloader mode to flash vunerable recovery, if not done already.
As minor side note, you have posted a help request in a Development section. Plus, all of this has been discused already. It is mostly scatterd around but not impossible to find.
@Mrvek you are awesome.. so much of patience....
I get into recovery by plugging it in anywhere, PC or wall, then hold X while its booting, once the recovery screen shows up, unplug, let go, and press whatever buttons you need. If its not X that you have to press, press whatever you need to when its booting.
For your question 1, please install this in your phone: http://www.mediafire.com/?wvw2sde2eldw2x4
there will be two icons in your phone afer installed, one for power off (can reboot into Recovery)
,another one is screen off.
For the second, all CM6(cm7 not sure) have this option : wake up with volume buttons (setting>cm setting>input setting>volume rocker wake)
By the way, if the PowerLock.apk doesn't switch you to recovery, you may need to copy this to your phone:
http://www.mediafire.com/?kvq45p4nscjwf88
How to use 60autoboot_or :
1) copy it to your system floder first
2) change permissions as:
VVV
VXV
XXX
3) then move it to system/etc/init.d
4) REBOOT
Nonetheless, you clarified some good points, i thank you a million times for your time and patience; i'm gonna go ahead and try to install CM mod on here and hope it resolves all of my problems lol (gl to me ...)
oh and the reason why i ''lol'ed'' is beacuse all the terms he used in his post i was unfarmiliar with, so it was foreign language and i was confused as **** lol
