Fast/smooth miui - HTC Incredible S

I was thinking about trying out miui. The only problem is that there seems to be so many different versions. What version would you say is the fastest and smoothest on our incredible s. After all it is meant to look like an iPhone

I can only say that the one I have tried which is MIUI.us 11230 is not smooth especially in app with very long window and a lot of text, say Green Power settings.

Has anyone tried gal net weekly build?

I think instead of keeping asking ppl, why not try it yourself? Like me. Doing a nandroid backup is not really hard, or is it?
EDIT: Latest galnet weekly build is not really good. Lag like hell and my phone can't receive any signal.

CM7 RC2 Is amazing.
I think that CM6 is more stable than CM7 and have a more free ram memory. But CM7 is almost 2.3.3 ... and it's works pretty well.

I like the way that that gb prompt/lists apps for redownload now.
Easier to setup on a different phone, if you use more than one.
i also find the whole thikng more stable since 2 releases ago.
I never had major issues with cm6, but cm7 just flies.
Forget the crap about lower ram, etc. My phone feels snappier. But i dont play games...

I am on CM6 currently.... in it had been quite stable..been using the rom for almost a month now and could not find a better rom that cm6 in terms of stability(ignoring the long pause that require you to press sleep button and then unlock back to continue issue).
I had not tried cm7(although tried it once). just wondering can cm7 match the stability that cm6 provide?
the Cm7 and Cm6 have still the same bugs as the official 2.2.1.
-some apps are not working
and also they both are even more unstable.
If you want a stable Phone the only way right now is 2.1 official.
I have tested cm7 and cm6 and returned back to 2.1 since, the phone chrashes to often.
erm....

CM7 to CM6 to correct "the wonk"?

Hello,
I have only had my N1 a few days and I am experiencing what I believe people refer to as "the wonk". What I am looking for is the most stable, rooted rom out there that has no such issues. I just want everything to work.
Should I downgrade back to CM6?
If I downgrade, do I have to change radios and/or HBOOT? I have upgraded these to the latest available.
Thanks for the info.
-D
Stable rom is cm6.1.1. I'm using that while cm7 tries to get stable and free of wonks.
Wonks only affect cm7.

Also note that the mic delays on incoming calls are a known gb issue and are not specific to cm as it is inherent in the stock Ota rom as well.
Thanks guys. I just noticed that this is in the incorrect forum. My apologies.

Why not just use DeWonkifier?
In my opinion, the "dewonkifier" is a band-aide and not a fix. I would prefer the phone have as clean and bug free code as possible.
I'll install CM7 when the wonk issues are corrected.
The gingerbread base doesnt offer enough for me to sacrifice usability of my phone.
I am disappointed that I upgraded from an Aria to an N1 and have to downgrade the software. I expected the N1 to have everything work perfectly since its the original flagship phone for Google.

Well the only thing holding back your nexus is you!. For my nexus the only bug is the 2 second delay and I can live with that. Dewonkificator ftw
Btw, CM7 is available for your aria too.
Cyan 6.1 is super stable and smooth, and fast. Its also much more feature complete right now over cyan 7. They are still bringing all the features over to 2.3. So its a very good experience using cyan 6 right now.

i find cyan 6 smoother though. my quadrant scores dropped a good bit on cyan 7, but also things scroll laggy like tapatalk threads, certain long lists, handcent threads, etc. these were smooth in froyo. though i agree launcher pro homescreens are buttery smooth on cyan 7. its just other things arent for me.

[Q] why all the craze for GB when its full of bugs?

Whys everyone "OMG! I CANT WAIT FOR GB" or "CANT WAIT TO GET YOUR GB ROM" etc?
The OFFICIAL i9000 gb update has been pulled because its so full of issues still? Do people really think its a good idea?!
I loaded a few to try em out. They were all garbage.
actually if your flashaholic it really matters it's their choice.. for the positive note it gives feedback to the dev to work for improvements and the end result is a much polished rom. somehow when it will be stable you will be using it. give thanks to all the users who act as a ginuia pig for that cause....
I am thankful for the GB drop and all the devs that work on it. However, I have flashed probably a thousand things in the last year. Including spl and radios. The gingerbread rom bricked my phone when going back to stock and now I am using the backup G1 hoping Samsung is able to fix it without charging me for the repair, I am under the one year warranty. So just a warning read a whole thread before you try flashing these GB roms. They can kill your phone if you try to go back to stock.
Well then you have not tried Continuim 5 B3. I have tried all the others and find I fast and smooth and am using it as my daily driver. I am addicted to flashing so I will keep trying other gingerbreads but you should at least check it out.
C5 is nice. It's more about staying up with the times for some but it is smooth. This is the same question when froyo came out and I get it but we are in the early stages. When this is lined out you wont move back and all of the people hyping it will test and work out the bugs for the rest. Be happy the hype is going on and others like me test it. You will be rocking it eventually I guarantee.

[Q] Custom rom that has "smooth" scrolling

I am a bit of a weirdo. I tend to see the frames per second in daily life much more than other people. I see overpowerd LEDs flicker, i see the Hz of CRT screens, I see the refresh rate of plasma TVs... and so on.
This is pretty annoying for me as it is. So what bothers me a lot is the scrolling on android! How low of fps is that?? It is NOTHING compared to the scrolling fps on an iphone. I know my inc s can do smooth scrolling cuz some games have it. I googled it and it seems connected to hardware acceleration.
Now my question:
Is there a custom rom that has this smooth scrolling?
Try Android Revolution HD rom by mike1986. It worked out well and it is much more smoother than other ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088498
Download that ROM and flash it.
Ask if you have any trouble in installing it.
Thanks for the reply. By "smoother", i don't mean the response time when you press some thing or the load time of applications.
My major concern is swiping/scrolling up and down in a menu like 'settings'.
I have unlocked my phone with htcdev and lost all my phone data... sigh... my own fault, i had to read the disclaimer stating it will be wiped to protect personal data. I'm new to this custom rom/bootloader/radio flashing so i still have a lot of reading to do. I just wonder if it is worth it.

I use RCMix3d Runny v4.0 (sense 3.5 and android 2.3.5) as a daily rom. Works pretty nice for me.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1345742
I got 3 replies, presenting 3 different roms.
Can anyone verify that the scrolling is high fps in these roms?
Talking about the three Roms given as suggestion for smooth scrolling,it depends. If you like sense, try rcmix Rom.If you prefer non-sense stock feel, try either of the two(I'd go with ARHD).
If you'd like to get smoothness without installing custom Rom,try downloading a custom launcher such as LauncherPro.
If you want the purest smooth scrolling on either sense or non-sense roms,I suggest waiting for a good Ice cream sandwich Rom,the hardware acceleration should definately bring the desired butter smooth feeling(as evident in ics alpha 3.0)
Something to choose from, but the best way would be to just test roms/launchers and see for yourself. After all, almost everyone has their own opinion.
Hope that helps.
eXcito.

I just switched to the new Android Revolution HD 2.1.12 (was using 1.something before) and instantly noticed that the scrolling was a lot smoother than before. I'm having the same problem as you and though this is still not iPhone smoothness it's way better than the stock smoothness.
And with No-Sense (disables bloat Sense-Software but not Sense entirely) you also have a very good footprint meaning more free RAM then stock or Cyanogen. The Launcher from No-Sense is GoLauncher EX which is smooth too.
Just give it a try.
For me the smoothest, bug free has been Virtuous Affinity 1.48. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will like it.
Different people different opinion.
To sum up:
Sense roms u can try:
ARHD
Nik's trinity
Virtuous Affinity
RCmix 3d
No-Sense:
CM 7.1
MIUI
cyanogenmod is the fastest and smoothest rom for incredible s bar none - i dont think anyone could argue with that. it just lacks some of the sense functionality.
if i were you, i would definitely start with it, and ive tried them all except the nik one at different times, always returning to cyanogenmod.

Hi incrediblealex,
I would suggest taking a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384852
It is very experimental, but if you are so fixated on "smoothness" and are willing to sacrifice a couple of other things for it, then the hardware acceleration will satisfy your needs.
Hope you find something to suit you.

[Discussion] Android 4.4 - will we get a stable? (show your opinion)

Hi everyone,
I must say that android 4.4 sounds like a great improvement for us as our device is getting older \=
However, I'm afraid that we may not get a stable rom running this version. I mean' we might get some rom that some how runs it, but still as many roms to our device thease days - they are not stable at all.
So what do you think? will we get it or not?

I'm sorry but I don't think szesco's roms are stable enough. I do appreciate his and contribution of course but since he doesn't have much time and also has many projects simultaneously, it results with poor stability and discontinued projects.
I'm using lacost rom and that one also is very poor like many other. It seems like it's better to use Android 2.3 based roms.

What rom do you use? I think I would define such a rom as stable too.
With lacost rom I'm experiancing every day (and sometimes more the once) situations were an app stops to respond or something and the whole phone get stuck, nothing responses. sometimes I have to wait, sometimes I have no other option but to remove the battery.

You can't compare ROM stability to app stability. I've seen lots of cases where apps just stop responding and that really doesn't have much to do with the ROM being unstable.
With the phone getting stuck from time to time, I experience no such problem or VERY RARELY on each AOSP ROM here. Sometimes, you may lose responsiveness but you can just lock your screen and then unlock it and that will fix it.
4.4 for HTC S2 will be dream coming true especially for phone with low memory.
JB from sezscoz is stable.. But i do find a lag in scrolling or navigating to diff app or setting etc..
Well, 4.4 is basically 4.3 with a couple of changes, and it was also designed to run on 512mb of ram, so if we got 4.3, i dont see a limitation on 4.4
Press "thanks" if I helped you out!

Oh of course, I know. It isn't a specific app, sometimes it's the chrome sometimes whatsapp or Trebuchet launcher sometimes I don't even know what app causes it.
Something with the rom isn't right... the whole phone just stops responding.

CM build are very nice, but battery optimizations are bad.
On Sense roms my phone is working about 3-4 days!
And CM roms kill my IncS battery for 1-2 days
