I have this issue also...but I think this is typical of Samsung phones. I've used a Samsung Infuse, Galaxy S2 and now the Note, and the 3 get warm in very little time especially when the processor is at 100% in games. I think there's no need to worry. Once the temp gets to 42-45, I just put the phone under my air conditioner - it cools down in less than 2mins.
I use this widget to monitor battery temp :

Many of you have got Galaxy Note for more than 1 month.Request all the Note users to update your reviews on the phone.Does it has any issues now and what all the solutions for those issues.
Thanks
Everything is great. Battery, screen, speed, stability, call quality, build, camera, speaker, s-pen, etc. What else do you want to know?
Does it overheats like the S2?Is there any lag?

No and no for me.
I really love this phone. Note is the best smartphone I ever use, the second best of mobile phone I ever use.
fast, massive screen, great resolution, nice camera quality, relatively good battery life against other android devices, s-pen is more than awesome.
OK we all know the goodies , let talk about some based.
1. Battery still can be much better but it's not notes fault. It's due to the limitation of current techology.
2. Samsung firmware could be better, now it's laggy and I am sure they are working their way. For now you can use custom rom to solve it. Checkrom is one of the best now.
3. The volume rocker and power button can place on a better place which you won't accidently trigger them.
4. If the battery allows. Still prefer rgb over pentile but it's not a big issue

Yes, even with skinny Jeans, it will go in but I'm afraid it breaks. But it's thin and feels thin.

It lags a lot noticeable through Samsung TouchWiz Launcher, or any other launchers.
I have more than one Android Tablets and 1 other Android phone, and it doesn't lags like the Note.
However, every others operations are smooth and quick.

I have an s2 that I can compare side to side with the GNote and compared to to the s2 there is some lag but it's fast enough.
If you choose to enable the power saving feature on the GNote it will lag even more.
There is also a delay in waking up the phone that the s2 does not have. That is quite irritating sometimes.
I have no overheating problems with mine.
I didn't read the thread but I will note a few of my findings.
I love the note and seems like its a complete smartphone for my needs. The screen is great and with rocket rom v17, its super fast and bug free.
Now the bad side of the note.
It gets extremely hot in gps mode when connected to lighter power source. Too hot to continue connected to car power. hardware damage could occur.
I took care of my note but it seems I am one of the unlucky ones to have damaged hardware on my phone. It seems the note also suffers from same symptoms as some sgs2 owners. after a month's usage my note began to act funny. I have had rocket rom v10 on it. I was very happy with the performance then all of the sudden, note started to get into car mode automatically and asking me to give verbal commands. some apps would open up or close automatically. then all of the sudden when i disconnected my note from power source it seemed the note didn't recognize the usb disconnection and continued thinking it was still connected to power cord. Then it would not respond to power button to turn on the note. I would have to connect my note to power source in order to have it turned on. I tried cleaning the usb port contacts, even pushed them down. it helped for a few minutes and gave me the impression the note was fixed but the problem would continue to pop up. Now I am unable to use my note as I can't get it out of charging mode. It is always in charging mode and drains the battery and acts funny. I am sure the usb port is damaged and my note has to be sent back for repairs. this is after just one month's usage.
oh yeah,. I have done all to fix the problem. I have changed the roms, even installed stock rom through odin, changed kernals and even discharged and recharged the phone a few times. All to no avail. I am totally bummed as I am sure my phone company will reject my phone and make up an excuse that it has internal water damage. I will try to restore my phone to original rom and sent it in for warranty repair.
So after playing about 5 mins of grand theft auto vice city my HTC One is absolutely roasting hot. Is this due to the metal or is it simply over heating? Should I stop or is it ok to keep playing?

It won't overheat, you can keep playing. You may have a faulty device however as mine doesn't get roasting hot, just warm.
Mine does get pretty hot when playing Graphic rich games such as real racer or something. . . but if yours is hotter than the usual i would take it back. . . Better to be safe than sorry. . .
All humans tend to define the word "hot" on different levels(depending on the sensitivity of your skin). So with the OP just saying the phone is hot without actual numbers is kind of non factual or not really helpful.
Hi, I wanna find resolution for my tab heat up problem. I had bought my tab over 2years. On the first year, my tab didn't had any problem on heat. This few month, my tab had been heat up when I using any application on it. My tab is 2.3.3 gingerbread version. My tab back cover is white. This few day, i had found some yellow spot on the battery side and also around the camera and side of back cover. Why would this happen? Can someone helping me?

The only time my Tab... Or indeed my Fathers Tab (both GT-P1000 Int'l GSM Galaxy Tab's), get warm to downright hot, is when running the Web Browser or GPS for Navigation. Given the rather ancient hardware given on the P1000, I generally only use it to stream On-Line Radio, and Google Music Files. With the Screen off 90% of the time. Like I am right now. The case is at the moment quite cool. Its just a shame that the the Battery drops like a rock while the Screen is on though.
Those of you that have your hands on the note 4 already. Does it seam to get pretty warm while using it? The back side to me felt a lot warmer then I would expect from a portable device. I have to be honest I am used to having a hard case on my note 3 so maybe this is normal.
Thanks for your input

I haven't noticed it myself but it is not unnatural that a device gets a bit warm with extended usage. Downloading, streaming, gaming etc will somewhat stress the device. Especially the more you're doing at one time. Happened to my Nexus 5 all the time.

and, since you are in Florida, its still summer there I assume, so its bound to be warmer than it might be here in the beautiful midwest
plus, getting a new phone warm is gonna happen, since you probably havent put it down for more than 10 minutes so far

Thanks. It did take about 20-25 minutes of solid usage before it started to warm up. I do not typically keep the phone on that long but of course i had to configure everything over again so it had longer then average use on it.
Just got mine today and it got a little hot when I applied the OTA update! I'm going to watch it!
Mine got pretty warm after rooting and working it to apply all of my root apps. But it's not hot enough to worry about.
Let the phone settle in. You want a hot phone. Record 4k video for 2 min.
NOTE 4
It definitely gets warmer than my m8 did. Nothing alarming though.
Mine run very cool under heavy usage and i play lots of graphic intensive Games one of those games being Solforge which use to get the Note 3 very warm...but note i got Power Saving restrict cpu performance on which I think drops cpu to about 1.3Ghz each
Mine is far cooler than my note3 and note2. Very heavy use and its rooted , never warm to the touch

I have owned Asus ROG Phone 2 for abiut 2 months already and after this new update from WW1910.66 version, I think I may have been getting some heating problem on the top left of my phone even after playing some normal poker games. Is it just my phone is somebody else has also got this problem. Please share.

Top left is where your heat vent is. By design, the casing of the phone quickly heats up as it dissipates heat from the internals.
A good measure of how hot the internals are, is to check the battery temperature, you can see it if you swipe in from left when gaming. As long as your battery is below 50 celsius, you're all good, and the phone is working as intended.
