Hi,
Rebuilding my z3+ I notice that there are pads from several of the ribbon circuits that connect to contacts in the inner edge of the frame. I don't have pictures, but it looks as if these connect to the aluminium strips that form the outer sides of the frame. So my question is if anyone know their function. I notice that the non-original frames are missing some of the contacts.
Do the frame sides form part of the system of antennas? If so, which? GSM/Wifi/GPS?
Could there be some other function?

Anyone who had the the smart cover case for the Mate 8 and can comment on what you can do with the screen?
Well, since no one here seems to have one I went ahead and bought one... case is nice. Flap stays closed by magnets in the display. The window doesn't do too much but it allows you to control music playback and take incoming calls etc.
I have mine it's good you don't need to lock the device just close the flip case then it automatically lock the phone.
