Smart display

So does anyone else have this issue... when I have smart display on and put my phone in the cup holder of my car, the screen never turns off.... it thinks I'm holding the phone...
As it uses the motion sensors, this should be normal. Standing upright and moving makes it appear to be in active use.

[Q] is it possible to lower proximity sensor sensitivity?

Ever since 5.1 my T-Mobile phone turns the screen off when I'm on a phone call...would like to figure out how to return down the sensitivity so I can keep my screen protector on and have my screen work when I'm on a call

Front glas cracked -> proximity sensor broken

My i9305 dropped and now the front glas is cracked. screen & touch are still working, but the glas in front of the proximity sensor is cracked.
it does now always report 0 (attached to ear). Only with bright light in a specific angle I can trigger the proximity sensor, so I know the sensor itself is not broken. So the screen stays black when calling someone.
I tried recalibration: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353972
but it did not change anything.
I dont want to replace the front glass, because I heared it might cause more trouble (with screen, touch and the sensors) - besides the proximity sensor everything does still work fine.

NFC tag in Flip-case cover to control display (do-it-yourself smart-case)

Would it be possible to put a nfc tag in a flipcover to control the display of the phone? So using trigger/tasker to turn off the display when the cover closes. Or is the distance from nfc tag to the phone too little to be noticed if the cover is closed/opened? I can imagine that if it works that you need some blocker (like a real thin magnet) at one side of the tag to prevent the nfc tag to turn the display off when you completely fold the cover to the back of the phone.

Smart flip cover

Anyone who had the the smart cover case for the Mate 8 and can comment on what you can do with the screen?
Well, since no one here seems to have one I went ahead and bought one... case is nice. Flap stays closed by magnets in the display. The window doesn't do too much but it allows you to control music playback and take incoming calls etc.
I have mine it's good you don't need to lock the device just close the flip case then it automatically lock the phone.
